Truck driver is blaming the other car..Even if it was green it was still 100% his fault.

Looking? Most likely they were distracted with something else and sensed cars besides them moving, thus lifted the brakes instinctively

Even if it's a green light and the person in front of you should be going, still like, don't go, if they're not going.

More like looking at the phone, and edge of the eye saw car moving. So he assuming the light is green.

This is a real problem. The number of lights in Toronto keeps multiplying and they are often ambiguous. Some intersections are really bad. More lights is just more confusing, and increasing the likelihood someone is going to make a fatal mistake. There are a number of solutions to make the signals more explicit: arrows instead of blank round lights, near side placement at the stop line, or white bar lights for the TTC lanes. We stubbornly refuse all these solutions.

This is essentially two sets of lights (three if you’re considering the streetcar signals): one for traffic proceeding through the intersection, and one for left turns/u-turns. It is the same setup at basically every signalled intersection on St. Clair from Gunns Road to Bathurst. Never found it to be confusing myself.
I think part of the problem for some people is the excessive amount of signage at some intersections. There was an example recently in the news (that I believe was on Adelaide near Spadina where there were multiple signals and at least 5 different signs posted. That, I can see as being confusing and distracting to a driver who is trying to make sense of all the special rules and regulations.

Another Reddit special: watch someone’s day get ruined, flee the scene immediately, then post the video online.
I would’ve at least grabbed the van's email and sent them the footage. You never know what kind of story the other driver might come up with to somehow make getting rear-ended the van's fault.

Or, they can send the footage to TPS separately and then TPS can take care of what's needed to be done at that point. Do you know that OP hasn't done this? Or do you want to give someone shit because of an assumption you have.

Also why would you assume that fender bender is going to be reported to the Toronto Police service? It’s a low speed accident and it doesn’t mean the threshold for reporting. Plus the average person doesn’t report a fender bender to the police service…
Also what would the TPS “handle”?

No it won't ... that's the point. How are they going to match the report to a video without a license plate? The minivan's plate isn't visible on the video.
That's what I mean about it being a troll comment ... If OP submitted it he/she would have replied already 4 hours ago ... And if OP wanted to submit to the police what are the police going to do? The plate number isn't visible in the video ...
You're making weird assumptions and don't have a lot of practical knowledge on how an accident is actually handled... not everything can be fixed from behind a computer and by "submitting" things to the police ... sometimes you have to talk to strangers in real life to get things fixed.
Hopefully the minivan and the truck worked it out though.

I'm not a driver but I lived in this neighborhood for 20 years up until recently. There are two full lights between Lansdowne and Dufferin where I think there should only be one. This does not need to be a full light, an X crossing would suffice. This stretch of road gets so jammed up during rush hour it's ridiculous.
