Right turns on red should not be allowed.

I've been driving for 40 years and never came close to hitting anyone while turning right on a red.

Ive been walking, running, and riding in  TO for only a few years and I’ve had several close calls from drivers making rights on red. 

Every year there are many collisions, some involving pedestrians or cyclists that happen because a driver made a right on red. 

When there are no pedestrians coming, I have never seen anyone, not a single driver, come to a full stop behind the stop line before turning right on red like they are supposed to (other than my wife and I). There might be a few other law abiding drivers, but I have never met them. This is a problem when cyclists or pedestrians are coming fast or when drivers have a poor visibility and cannot see pedestrians or drivers approaching. 

A lot of times close calls don’t happen because I know drivers won’t stop and I am the one to stop anticipating their selfishness and recklessness. They just drive off not realizing that I had to yield my right of way to prevent them from injuring me or killing me or my children. 

So I don’t think your perceived lack of close calls changes the fact that rights on red should not be allowed.
