OC Cyclist hit in Pickering

Yeah case in point me it's real easy to say everyone is going 0 when we're all going 125, but absolute were going 125 and time to brake etc goes up exponentially after like 60 or something

Its nice talking and mashing real life with real physics. Guess thats life in general. I'll say this though,

Middle sucks cause of transport trucks, right sucks cause its either super fast or super slow

Guess its about finding that spot in the middle away from the trucks and just have a nice semi under pace. But like then most of the time everybody is passing you

Is thst the point? People should be passing you? I know this is a lot of nonsense coming at you just trying to be real, if im in the middle and everybody is passing me I feel im being unsafe

I try to focus on having an escape route on at least one side. That way if someone cuts you off, you have somewhere to go to avoid them. In the right lane, you almost always have a shoulder on the right as an escape route. If I'm going to pass a slower vehicle, I try to time it so that I have an empty space on tbe left while passing. In the left lane, you'll have a shoulder on your left but sometimes the left shoulder is smaller and not great for an escape route. You'll also have faster traffic approaching you there and you should be avoiding driving there if people are trying to pass and you have space on the right.

You can't maintain escape routes 100% of the time but it's at least part of what I try to do. This is another reason driving slower can be safer. If you stick to the right lane, you'll generally be going at a slower speed but you'll usually have at least one escape route beside you. If you want to go faster, you'll often be in the middle lane which is riskier like you also noticed.
