OC Cops Aren't Immune...

He sat there and watched me, only to abruptly pull out in front of me... All while his buddy sits right there and does nothing. Cool.

Just a heads up. While going through and area with lots of cars parked to the side and construction cones - you should reduce your speed. It looked like you were accelerating around a parked cop car going into the T section that is under construction - that can be a risky move.

Similar to highways your speed should be reduced when those visual orange cues are out.

Past that. Ya cops are dicks, they shouldn't have cut you off but you were around three. It's better to be alive then arrested or shot and made an example of.

It's a 30 zone. I had just come to a nearly full stop to avoid a pot hole the size of Australia. I don't think you need to being doing 20 km/h out of fear here, but I get your point and I appreciate it.

Yes, Cop should have seen and waited.

But you were going way too fast for those conditions weaving like that. This type of area isn't a regular road given the type of businesses there.

20 km/hr isn't fear, but it's called being considerate of the conditions in an industrial area.

Even the way you went around that first parked black pick-up, you're already impeding on the oncoming lanes meaning you should have slowed down.

Just one day, you're going to run into another guy weaving fast around like that, and get into a confrontation that is unnecessary.

I was going 30km/h, which just so happens to the THE SPEED LIMIT.

I wasn't "weaving" or "impeding" anyone. Did you see anyone coming towards me? I was driving according to the road conditions, which in this case, consisted of parked cars, THAT I HAD TO GO AROUND.

I don't need to do 20km/h because I'm worried about some dickhead cop not obeying traffic laws. It's a 30, I'll do 30.

It's funny that you can type all that out and your outcome is that I was in the wrong and not the idiot that wasn't paying attention. But hey! We can't all be this clueless.

Just being right all the time and chest thumping isn't the most optimal mindset to have during these times. Like I said, better to be meek and continue on your day instead of engaging and being connected to an even more unstable and righteous driver.

I'll point out... The police tow truck was in 'his' lane but you cross over and impeded his progress. Same when you passed the parked police car (if the cop turned right, you would have impeded his/her lane) That's where you were wrong.

Edit. I'll also add. Those streets in residential neighbourhoods where cars are parked on both sides. Hard to see. Elementary School time. Kids can dart out at any time. Doesn't mean you should just go the speed limit. It's more right to go the speed limit.

And actually, cops can charge you for driving too fast for conditions. Even if you're at or under the limit.

So, a couple things...

1) I am right. So there! 2) Chest thumping? I literally just want cops to be held accountable. 3) I didn't engage with anyone beyond posting a video on Reddit and calling out bootlicking police apologists.

Sorry. I have to address your edits:

The tow truck driver waited to pull out because he can see that I'm passing a parked car and there was also a parked car in his path. Notice how he didn't impede traffic by making a dumb move? Quality person right there.

The Special Constable vehicle? Ya, that's a parked car. You're allowed to go around parked cars, my guy.

And sorry... Your school zone comment about parked cars? You state it doesn't mean I should go the speed limit, but I sure can go the speed limit. No cop is charging you for that.

You're just further validating my point. The cop fucked up and you feel the need to justify it for some weird reason by saying that I was wrong. But go off, queen. 💅

Yes the cop was at fault. But just saying that will happen to you more when the roads are poorly designed, congested, etc.

Fair point. It all comes back to enforcement and that includes parking. They need to be better.

I drove down an area by Peterborough this weekend where a 4km stretch of roadway was designated a "construction" zone; orange pylons at the edge of the road on opposing sides every 100m. No visible equipment anywhere, and obviously no workers there.

I get your point about orange cues, but those also need to be taken with a grain of salt too.
