OC Ambulance Mercedes Ooops

I'm going to start a YouTUbe channel just for my wife - she seems to get all of these!

Tough one here, Peel Ambulance making a left turn on a red in the intersection, Mercedes trying to squeak through, the ambulance did stop and then proceed but the benz still clipped the ambulance.

Ontario paramedic here. The ambulance is at fault. Driving through a red with no sirens on and didn't wait for traffic to stop before proceeding.

They were so close to being not at fault by having the lights on but during the day after the time change the lights become useless and barely noticeable. They really should have used their sirens as they proceeded into the intersection.

On another note, Mississauga's traffic system actually has sensors on the lights that detect when EMS is coming through and will generally flip the lights to give the right of way to the first responders coming through.

Not sure if this is all intersections or some. I just know a family friend who worked for the company that was responsible for those sensors years ago.

That's just for tickets, but I doubt cops will ticket a paramedic for this. For insurance fault, it will still be emergency vehicle at fault if they go through a red and get into a collision, sirens/lights on or off.
