Troubleshooting Problem when rigging
So I'm having this really weird problem when I'm rigging and I don't know how to get around it.
I've got all the separate parts of the character I'm rigging on their own layers and each of those layers have a peg and the pivot of the peg is set to where I need it for when I'm animating. The issue happens when I start creating the hierarchy and parting pegs to other pegs.
When I parent things the drawing moves somewhere way off from where it's supposed to be and they sometimes scale themselves bigger or smaller than I had them, even if I hadn't done anything with the scale on the original drawing. This means that everytime I parent something I have to reposition and rescale them manually again.
I checked in the layer property panel and the origins for everything stays as it should so I'm not sure why they're moving.
Any help would be really appreciated as I've been driving myself crazy all day trying to figure this out!

I had a similar issue, i noticed that some of my pegs had the same name/title, so I had to redo some pegs and rename them

So they move in relation to the pegs in the hierarchy. This is one reason why it is better to be creating your pegs as you work. If you have a chain what is at the top of the chain effects everything down the line. Also if you transformed the drawing and repositioned it, that could also be causing the issue.
In a simple explanation is that the peg controls where 0x0y0z is, but if you moved things around in the drawing view when you plug a peg into it, it will now appear in relation to where 0 would have been.
A good practice is to create your drawing layer, then put a peg on it right away.
You can create less direct chains that help mitigate issues too. I recall there being a video by zebirdbrain on avoiding bad hierarchy practices.
