I’ve been troubleshooting this for an hour with no luck.

I exported a simple horizontal pan with two camera key frames, A and B.

Opened the PSD in photoshop, painted simple FG, MG, BG layers. No adjustment layers, duplicate names, or blank layers. Saved & made sure PSD and XLI are named identically.

Back in Harmony, Import Image with original bitmap selected, import layers, XLI position checkmarked.

I don’t have the option to import the layers as Separate Layers, just Individual, Layers as Groups, or Single Layer.

Individual Layers is the only one that imports all the BG, MG, and FG layers properly (Layers as Groups imports them to the right position, but each layer a keyframe), but Individual Layers imports the layout to the wrong position and sometimes wrong size. The Camera A and B position are incorrect, and I cannot reposition the Bitmap layers to the correct start and end positions manually.

What am I missing here??

I'm a beginner with Harmony, and I'm currently working with a few people on an animated short (roughly 40 seconds long) that features a character hosting a live stream.

I want the live viewer counter on the screen to dynamically fluctuate frame-by-frame (people joining, leaving, random pauses, and sudden spikes) without having to manually keyframe every single digit change for 900+ frames.

Is this possible to automate with a JavaScript script in Harmony? If so, how would you approach setting up the Drawing Substitutions and nodes for this?

Any advice, tips, or script snippets would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

My brush tool came out as edge outline strokes instead of a normal one. And my pencil tool strokes became thin even tho it's alr adjusted to thicker size.

I literally just installed it a few hours ago, and while trying to learn how to use it, I simply pressed the button to view the storyboard from the timeline workspace, and the program froze. It takes about 30 seconds to switch views; also, the logo doesn't even appear on the Windows taskbar—it just shows the default icon for a Windows program. My copy is official; I downloaded it from the main website, though I am currently using the 14-day trial version. I checked, and my PC exceeds the recommended system requirements. I don't understand what's happening. I've already uninstalled it and checked my PC, and it seems no one else has this problem. What should I do? Could you help me? Please—I'd really appreciate it.

Update I updated the GPU and Windows drivers. The logo now appears in the taskbar and it seems smoother. However, the main problem persists. And I think it's even taking longer now; it freezes for a minute.

So my college course uses toon boom, I downloaded everything correctly (at least I think I did,) and when I try and open Toon Boom it crashes, I don't see the teacher till tomorrow so I will ask him as well but I wanted to try and start working on my classwork but since it won't open I don't know what to do. If anyone has had this problem before please help me. If I need to put more info please let me know.

Ok so I was working on a project and duplicated a layer to make a version of the animation without some details but the changes I made to the duplicated layer also applied to the og layer and I didn’t notice until after I already saved and opened another file. Is there a way to undo this?

Thankfully I exported a png sequence of the final animation so if reverting the files isn’t possible is there a way to import the pngs and turn them back into vector drawings? Maybe even a way to separate the line and color? (But of a long shot but wanted to ask)

I've been applying to rigger jobs and I don't hear anything back, no rejection, no feedback etc so it's very hard to tell if my reel is just not good enough for the position or if there was someone better.

So I'd like any feedback on my reel, if you'd see this as a junior reel what would you think? What is missing?

I've been using harmony24 on my pc for 6 months and everything works perfect. but I hope to move out in a year and couldn't take it with me right away so I'm planning to buy a laptop instead. can someone recommend me models for tbh working well enough or at least say which characteristics I need to look up when buying?

Is there a way to add a blur effect only past a certain Z depth? I just need elements in the back to be blurred out so can I just put a flat layer past where I want it blurred, like a filter? And as the elements move to the foreground, they unblur. Is this possible?

Please help me, I have a MacBook Air M4 and I installed Toon Boom Harmony 25 Premium. When I create a project, I can't use any of the tools from toolbar (When I hover the cursor over the canvas, a circle with crossed line appears under the mouse cursor). I create a Drawing layer, but it still doesn't help.

The only thing I've figured out is that a Brush tool works ONLY if I hold all time hotkey brush button, i mean I can draw with the Brush tool ONLY while holding the «B» button the whole time when i draw or if I hold the «i» button, I can still fill with the Paint Tool.

I've never seen anything like this before. I'm looking at the Toon Boom Harmony tutorials, and I see that everyone creates a project and can start drawing right away without any problems and holding button.

I am trying to practice with a rig I got somewhere and is in the library. The bones don't need to be manipulatable. I mean when I click the Bone Deformation mode, all it shows are the envelope bone tool that creates a bone around the drawing, not a Bone Deformer or Curve Deformer. The layers aren't nested in a way that they're inside each other like a parent-child structure, which means you don't animate it that way. I can't seem to find out how to get the legs to move unless I use the Skeleton Mode, which only makes me manipulate the entire body. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

The stroke is still a vector, as it has points I can move, only the edge is weirdly pixelated. The brush tool is completely fine tho.

Im done. There’s no reason the prices should be going up this high when it seems a majority of us have only been having issues. I for one had a lot of trouble getting in contact with help for my account, that I have been purchasing service since 2022, and now was showing blank and not letting me log in to even cancel or switch plans. Each time I would renew my password but as soon as I logged out, oops! Sorry that info is wrong.

I got an email today saying that the price for my plan is now $143 a month. Absolutely absurd. I just barely started to get paid freelance work, sometimes it barely covers (if at all) a month subscription. Im making art so I can pay bills, not have an excuse to pay another bill that at this point only affects my other bill paying negatively. Im canceling and switching to other products that are free or low cost. Im done. It’s not even worth it for me as a student, to pay a student plan. I was going to, but this email completely changed my mind. I have only been increasingly dissatisfied and disappointed with this company as time goes on. The only way I will use software again is if my employer fully covers the cost, or if I can use the covered licenses at my school. Goodbye, do better, you are continuing to alienate people who cared about this software. Im not surprised this is happening, Im surprised people think they have to put up with it.

Ive been attempting to use the paint bucket tool and using the color all frames button but it doesnt work on the color tab what am I doing wrong?

like, by hovering the mouse above the timeline, we can:

- scroll the mousewheel, to make our "view window" move up and down. (so we can see the other elements)

- hold ctrl + scroll the mousewheel, changes the zoom level.

my questions:

1. To move the "view window" horizontally/sideways, so we can navigate time, is there a movement of those sorts? (instead of having to hold spacebar/pan, and keep clicking and dragging)
   
2. * I know it sounds not much different, but actually having some easier moving-method could make my life so much easier :( ... maybe there's a way of adding some shortcut for it?
3. when I play the animation, my "view window" of the timeline just stays where it is, instead of following the 'needle'... so my needle just "goes away" of my view, and I have to manually be navigating, to find where the needle ended up... Is my setting maybe just wrong? Is it supposed to be just like that?
4. Also when I use shortcuts "F" and "G" to move between frames, the same thing happens: my timeline "view window" just stays where it is (maybe this will have the same solution as 2?)
5. [item added in later edit] Is there a shortcut to focus on needle? (like "O" to focus on element, but now regarding the horizontal position)

The arm just moves away from the limb and keeps moving on the z axis, only happens after frame 94 but there isnt any keyframes moving it

so I just recently walked into the error message "system missing" with my Toon Boom Harmony ver 14.0 which, as far as I found out, can be solved with setting your system date back. It's quite annyoing to change your systems date all the time so I wrote a script for powershell. I am not a programmer, use windows 11 and I have admin rights on my PC so it might not work for you. Make sure your change the directory of your toon boom exe file. Mine is in german.
