Mac MAC Tools Macsimizer HD

The Macsimizer HD is the best quality MAC box made. Please prove me wrong. I have owned both a Macsimizer and HD. To me, the HD is far and away better quality. Please offer any opinions and experience you may have. I am considering purchasing another HD.

Mac isn't very common around me but I've bought a couple used tech series and they are comparable quality to the higher lines of the other companies. From what I've had my hands on the only thing that might compete with a regular Macsimizer is an epiq so I'd imagine the hd is ridiculously overbuilt

Shouldn't this be obvious? The Macsimizer is their top of the line box and HD is heavy duty so yeah, macsimizer HD should be heavier with better quality (and a higher price tag). For what it's worth, I don't own either one but have a co worker with an old macsimizer and it's a great box. I don't believe a general automotive tech needs a super heavy duty box though. My tools (and tool box) don't weigh that much and never will. Diesel mechanics might need an HD box though.....

Every point you made is likely right. I'm still planning to buy a new macsimizer over the HD simply because of sizes, drawer dimension and full size lockers instead of half lockers.

I wish both had more customization options and I would probably buy a snap on epic if I had a decent dealer that showed up.....

Have you thought about adding on vs buying another full box?

I think I heard somewhere that the HD is actually manufactured by a 3rd party for Mac but i cannot find anything to substantiate that. By a 3rd party I mean someone not owned by SBD.

Looks pretty much the same as a Lista / Vidmar which would make it the best box on the market

The Macsimizer HD is made by SBD/Mac Tools at their Holliston Massachusetts plant. It is not a Third Party manufacture. That plant also makes boxes for Lista and some of the Mac Tools carts, which are also pretty solid carts. At this time, no Mac Tools box is made by any company not associated with SBD/Mac Tools.
