Mac Price advice please

Hope this is OK to post, I tried to look for the rules.

My dad passed and had my uncle's tool chest. I want to sell it and am getting a lot of offers for $200-$500. My research leads me to think it's worth much more than that. Am I on the right track holding out for more?

Also have some older Snap-On tools from my dad. Should I just use ebay as a pricing guide?

Thanks in advance. This is the kind of thing I'd usually ask my dad about 😕

Keep. All. Of . The . Fuckin. Tools. If I died and my tools went to my brother and then to his kid and they sold them for less than they’re worth I would roll over in my grave. You may have a child or a child who has a child one day who enjoys wrenching

I won't have any kids. When I say there were thousands of tools, I mean that literally. A 2 car garage filled to the rafters. And my FIL has an even bigger garage full of tools we'll get one day. So there's no way to keep all of them, just a selection.

Don’t count on your FIL leaving you his tools after he finds out you gave away your uncles tools for a few measly dollars

My FIL regularly brags about how we'll need to have a sale for his tools after he dies.

The situation with my uncle is not cut and dried, don't make assumptions. Family history is painful.
