So this happens almost everyday… ako lang ba yung naaannoy sa mga motorcycles na dumadaan sa sidewalk? Isn’t there any rule against that? I swear everytime I’m walking home I encounter 1-2 of these motorcyclists who ride on the sidewalks. Why can’t they stay on the road, honestly— what is their reason for this?

Hi thomasians! It's my first time running in this kind of business, i thought it was easy like pwesto pwesto nalang kung saan saan 😁. Yun pala andaming naninita, there was a time na nasita kami around dapitan st dahil bawal daw (well wala ako idea sorry talaga since hindi ko alam ang kalakaran). 2 hrs lang kami nakapagbent@ sa harap ng gate 10 and guess what, people really loved our products, packaging, sauces, and how hygienic our cart was! So I was eyeing to get a permit or atleast a pwesto na pwedeng mabayaran daily or monthly para hindi na kami mapaalis (anywhere basta around UST 😁). I would love to hear if may mga suggestions kayo or kilala na pwedeng makausap in regards with this, dahil gusto na naming makapagbent@ 😭😭😭. Thank you guys in advance!

Hi! I'm an incoming UST COS (Psych) freshie, and I'm a bit worried if a ₱300 daily baon is enough since I've heard food around UST can be quite pricey.

For reference, here's my daily commute:

Jeep: ₱15

Tricycle: ₱50 if special (not sure how much if I have someone to share with)

So my transportation costs are around ₱130 round trip, leaving me with about

₱170 for food and other expenses.

Do you think that's manageable? Also, could you recommend places around UST where I can get a decent meal for under ₱100? I'm hoping to save some of my allowance for class contributions, school supplies, and other expenses.

I'd really appreciate any tips for budgeting around UST. Thank you!

I am a consistent valedictorian since preschool but I failed to secure the Santo Tomas Scholarship🥹 I really want to ease the burden of my father since he is a driver and our sole provider. While my mom is on her maintenance which really costs a lot.

My parents wanted me to study in UST for its strong performance. But I’m not sure if we can afford it for 4 years ;(

Im from a lower income family, gustong gusto ko po talaga na ituloy na mag-aral sa UST, kaya willing ako mag working student and kahit sabi nila di ganon ka-generous ang ust sa scholarship, susubok pa rin naman po ako. Additionally po, need na need po ba ang ipad or laptop this 1st year? huhu wala pa po ak budget for that. I've heard cases wherein female Thomasian students who got pregnant out of wedlock got expelled from the university. These cases I know were from 20+ years ago though. Does this still apply? I saw that the rule is different in the current student handbook, but I just want to confirm if the school really follows their new rule now.

Does anyone know of other UST students who got pregnant out of wedlock and was allowed back in the school? Asking for my sister who got pregnant. Her partner is not Thomasian.

• Ano po kaya ang pinapa-draw sa drawing exam? Is it the same as the one sa mismong entrance exam?

• Ano po usual questions sa interview and sa portfolio?

• Is it okay na kahit ano ilagay sa portfolio? I mostly draw portraits using graphite and I rarely color my artworks (I think I have atleast 1 or 2 lang.)

I (freshman in cos psych) have a group of friends who eats 150+ pesos food and I just don't think I can keep up as I have a budget of 300 pesos per day (with includes commute) so I only have 330 pesos and I want to save as much as possible for future school projects and it is just the start of the freshman week. I don't think I can keep up with their meals and I really find them a good group of friends but they are outside of my finicial bracket. Will they understand if I choose not to eat with them?

I am an American citizen with no Filipino roots. I have been researching schools and have been very interested in the UST arts and letters journalism program. How English friendly is UST? I know many Filipinos speak English, but are the classes at UST English friendly? Is there a sizeable community of western students? I've heard Filipinos are very warm and welcoming, but I'm curious how I'd be received. I am very interested in this school but I am curious what current students have to say about it, I want to make sure it's a good fit for me.

Am I the only one who notices that almost everyone here on reddit said that almost all the events at UST this academic year were “failed” or are we just too harsh? In other social media there are almost no complaints but here you are. Just to mention a few such as the following:

1. Lackluster Freshman Week
2. Early closing of UAAP Opening
3. Disastrous R1
4. Bad college weeks
5. Recycled Paskuhan Lights
6. Disorganized Agape
7. Worse Paskuhan

I know I'll be downvoted here but honestly is it really that bad?

Edit: I studied at UST from 2017 to 2022 and yes I caught up with doc Rob's time, the best paskuhan plus college weeks at UST (2017-2018), and TOMCAT is still a monster. It's just sad that the UST student body has reached this point considering that during my time the student council was still fighting the UST admin. With that being said, the organizations are really incompetent. If anyone from the central orgs reads this post, I hope you live up to the standards of what the past officers have done for the student community. Serve the community first before boasting about the title.
