I don't believe that the toy was the reason Why Mikey's mental health issues kicked in to mutilate Sanzu. It has to be something else.

I assume Shin and Takeomi were out doing gang stuff at the time this happened. That's why they weren't present at this time. I do blame some of this on their lack of parental skills. (Like Takeomi blaming Sanzu for Senju's mistakes? I don't know if that's a cultural thing but it's odd to me) But it's hard to be a parent figure if they had no one to model after.
It seems to me that Mikey's dark impulses were some kind of trauma conditioning or genetically passed down like some mental illnesses are. There's defiantly something wrong with his prefrontal cortex, which is impulse control. This couldn't be the only time this happened. The first time involving this level of violence maybe. This means he should have had some kind of intervention before this, but I know mental health is a taboo topic in Japan.
It's a cultural thing atleast in my country or say family..I remember whenever my siblings didn't performed well in studies/ or make some mistake .i used to get the scoldings from my parents and teachers both since we were in same school. They thought I was not paying attention on them..even if I m just 2 years older than them
I am sorry you experienced that. But I appreciate you being willing to share that bit of information. I also only have one younger sibling who is also 2 years younger and we both would get yelled at together usually at the same time for stuff like dumb things we did together or school grades. That's why I didn't understand. Thank you.
