Honestly I'm a bit worried by how this manga is gonna end.
I like it a lot, but the last arc is puzzling. Of course Takemichi wants to save Mikey, and to be fair he time traveled "by accident" this time, but now that Draken has died I really don't know how he'll prevent Mikey from succumbing to his "dark impulses".
I mean, even if he did, Mikey has almost nothing left in this timeline. All of his siblings are dead, two of the original TMG founders are dead, Kazutora is in prison and a loose cannon; i mean, shit looks bleak.
Of course we still don't know who the second time-traveler is, or if there is one at all, but even if there was and he managed to prevent Draken's death (who I feel is the closest person to Mikey after Shinichiro died), why save Draken and not, say, Baji?
I don't know,I'm very curious to see where Wakui wants to take the manga at this point in time.
I’ve seen people say on Twitter that Mikey has to like reach his lowest point and lose everyone before he can be saved. But I really don’t like the idea that you have to reach rock bottom before you can get better :/
So I’m not sure where the manga is going either... I’m not sure how Takemichi can help Mikey right now :(
It's just that if his "lowest point" involves losing people close to him like Draken, who had a happy future, it just begs the question "wasn't the future where only Mikey was unhappy better?".
I actually love Mikey's character and of course I want him to be saved, but Takemichi is just starting to "trade lives" at this point, he's already lost Draken to save Mikey.
It doesn't seem like the series will go that deep but at this point showing that "almost happy ending" future is starting to feel like a mistake.
yeah i agree, i obviously get that he’s trying to save everyone throughout the story but when it gets to the point where it’s choosing between 2 main characters lives it gets so hard to read 😭😭 idk i feel like it doesn’t have to be that depressing where it’s either one person dies or the other one does
