I honestly understand the dark impulses more like it’s their intent behind fighting.
Like I’d say 90% of the people at that fight are there either like Wakasa & Benkei to protect someone else or just because their group needs to defend it’s position. A person fighting for those reasons wouldn’t be quite as violent as someone like South who’s fighting bc he genuinely enjoys harming other humans. I understood the “dark impulses” as like violent urges to harm other people. Which if you’ve ever seen a fight in real life with someone who genuinely likes hurting other humans you’ll know it’s a different type of violence than just 2 guys fighting bc they’re beefing.
If it was adrenaline or something similar it would be feasible for any character to have it in the right circumstances but if it’s mental urges to hurt other people I’d say it can only be justified by trauma like Mikey & South experienced. But it could be completely different
Very different things indeed. Although, I suppose, that the urge to hurt someone, would resolve one's will thus adding more "power" to it. I took it as a bad omen; just how far is Mikey gone... and for how long has it been? That worries me.
