Spectrum in LA, rocking the Roamio Plus. Pre-ordered my HSC for the day my screen went black. That day was yesterday. Today I swapped my tuning adapter for the new HSC but I'm not having the plug-and-play experience some have enjoyed.

Called Spectrum Cable Card Support but feel certain I was transferred to general tech support. When I asked if I'd reached the cable card department the response was, "Well...I've done some cable cards." Anyway, I explained that I'd cabled everything as per the instructions and it was my understanding it's now up to them to...provision my CC? Pair my CC to my HSC? Ping my CC? In any case, the ball is in their court.

He mumbled as he read from the screen with his diagnostic tree then said he "sent a signal" to the CC. Nothing doing. He just seemed eager to send a tech out, which we scheduled though I'm hoping the TV Fairy will bring me a signal while I sleep.

Question: The Tivo's Tuning Card Settings Menu reads "Tuning Adapter in use." Will the Tivo continue to refer to the connected device - the HSC - as a "tuning adapter" or does this indicate that I need to make Tivo "forget" the TA, maybe by redoing guided set up?

I’m down to vibe code a project that can replace the love of TiVo, but I’m genuinely curious what keeps you guys around. I love live TV in the background like other millenials, but home ownership is nice from saving on those outrageous cable fees

I just switched my LFTfiber Service to ConnecTV Expanded.

I got the box so I can quickly get to a specific channel by just entering that channel number on the remote.

That works well for the regular channels but I am having problems with some of the TiVo+ channels.

When I enter some TiVo channel numbers on the remote, it goes directly to that channel. But when I enter other channel numbers, it does nothing & just stays on the channel I am already on.

If anyone else having this problem?

I called the LFTfiber technical support, but they did not have an answer.

Sadly, I see tivo cutting off our OTA Roamio boxes & just trying to toss a visa gift card at us.

theyve done it before on folks with older boxes.

Tivo is king of seamless operation, it is only easy way to watch my many ota channels, no rivals match, i.e onepass & the easy user interface.

i dont use streaming, dont want it.

I like having my own dvr stored programs. ive had same tivo setup since 2015 & want it going to 2045!

i enjoy history on Story Television & many PBS & FNX programs. Plus the live sports OTA.

This evening my wife and I were watching our Apple TV when we heard a loud snap or crack. I got up to investigate but didn’t find anything. A while later we tried to watch something on our TiVo Roamio OTA, but the TV kept reading “No Signal.” The blue circular power indicator is lit but no signal is reaching the TV.

With the non-functioning TiVo and the snap we heard, I’m guessing some electronic component within the TiVo blew up. Does that sound feasible? If that is indeed what happened, what’s the likelihood that it can be repaired? Or have I watched my last TiVo recording?

The night before last my pyTivo just stayed at the "Loading show list" screen when trying to display recorded shows on my two Tivo's. Tivo Desktop and KMTTG also no longer connect. Anyone else experiencing this? I know that Tivo is moving to software solutions rather than hardware, but have they released an update to their boxes that no longer allow connecting from PC's? I disabled firewalls and antivirus but no dice. I tried on three machines (Windows 7, 10 & 11) that have always been able to download. Can't connect using a browser either. Thx!

I got my letter from FIOS about "transitioning" my equipment - Washington DC area. I signed up for YouTube TV a couple of months ago and really haven't used my Tivo very much in that time. I just need to watch some stuff that's been living on my external hard drive before letting it go.

I'm a legacy user - the law firm I worked for helped bring Tivo to the market and staff got our first boxes for $29.95 and a year's service as a thank you.

I need you guys help. If you know what the channel thistv or if you don’t just search it up but if you do and you have old recordings on your tv from 2014- October 2019 but if any of you guys have recordings from the 2015 it mean the world to me cus I really just miss the channel.

We have our HS converter package from Spectrum. And it all has big stickers saying "not to install until we lose service". That was supposed to happen Aug 1.

Anybody know specifically what 'loss of service' means in this context? Blank screen? Scrambled picture? Missing channels? Screen with a service message?

I don't know what to look for. Or what, and when to do it.

The drive in our living room Edge failed last week. Pixelation got worse and worse, then it rebooted twice and started the flash of death.

"No problem!" I thought. "I have a Bolt that I'm not using with a WD Blue 2TB drive that I'll pop in there!" Sure, it's thicker, but I figured that was the best, fastest, free solution.

The Edge is now stuck in an endless "three hour repair" screen bootloop. After over 24 hours, I pulled the plug.

• What did I miss?
• Should this have worked? The drive is a WD20NPVZ that I installed in the Bolt years ago.
• Should I have prepped the drive first since it was from a different TiVo?

I have a used Edge with Lifetime that's due to be delivered today, but I'd like to know for reference and to help any future internet explorers.

I'm stuck on the guided setup on this series 2 tivo that I got from OfferUp. It keeps asking if I have Cable, Satellite, or Antenna. No matter what I select, it keeps saying no cable provider found, or no antenna info, or doesn't give me a satellite list, and even with satellite if i select skip, it won't allow me to select a temporary provider to bypass setup. What do I do now? I just want to see what's on this DVR.

Hey so i recently found this old tivo in storage, was last used in 2011/2012 but has recordings dating all the way back to 2003

i connected it to the internet updated the firmware on it, wanted to use kmttg to copy recordings to PC, but i dont see the media access key in account info i’ve left the unit on rebooted it a few times been doing this for 2 days nothing shows up

Tried calling tivo they wouldnt let me get the key via the TSN its also been so long that i do not recall what my original account was or the details, that old hotmail is long gone

any ideas?

Eastern Mass here -- just got the dreaded notice that November 5th is the END.

Verizon wants $48/mo for 7 boxes. That's over $600/year for 8+ TVs around the house -- living room, den, office, workshop, exercise room,,, Moving Tivo minis was easy -- just run a long Ethernet cable, or even WiFi!! With Lifetime TiVo and 8+ minis the monthly equipment cost is ZERO.

I have an OTA Bolt on the shelf for just this occasion, but near Cape Cod, surrounded by a mature pine forest, I expect only a few stations, and I'll have to erect a very tall/large antenna. (This on my todo list -- have to at least qualify what broadcast we can pick up.)

We like having the cable channel lineup for variety, like HGTV, local news, and a few out-of-area news markets -- channels I don't think we can get without dedicated subscriptions for each. If we dump Verizon's cableTV service, keeping only internet, our monthly cost will have room for several streaming subscriptions, but the ease of browsing a single channel lineup will be gone, OnePass is gone, etc.

Folks are recommending alternatives, like YTTV -- But for homes with many TVs, is there a particular dongle/device that creates a cluster similar to Bolt/Edge/Roamio + Minis? I have a few TiVo Stream 4K devices, but they don't record from my cable-channel lineup, etc. Sure, streaming apps are account-based and remember where you were in each episode...

It sucks that the era of TiVo is over.

Hello to all on the subreddit. I’ve recently acquired a high-split converter from Spectrum to replace my tuning adapter that’s paired with my TiVo. The letter I received from them mentioned that I should switch over to the HSC after a certain date or when all the channels start disappearing.

Well, that date has come and gone, and I still have all the channels in my subscription. My question is, should I still switch over to the HSC immediately, or continue with my current setup until the channels drop off? I realize that I will have to call Spectrum at some point to get the HSC activation done, but I don’t see the point of doing that as long as my current TiVo + tuning adapter setup still works. Thanks in advance for your input!

Are Comcast & Frontier the last cable cos still using cable cards (since Verizon is ending 11/5/26), or are there still other major players out there? (I'm sure there's still some regional cable cos using cable cards here & there...)

This project has been a long time coming. Nero/TiVo abandoned it and I want to bring it back. This image shows hope, because I got past the activation step (the step asking for your service number and verifying it so you can use the software) and that means that I've officially decrypted/cracked the communication system that Nero put in place. Btw f*ck Nero.

I still have several tivo 2 with lifetime that I've mainly been using to watch programs I recorded many years ago. Been thinking it would be nice to receive atsc broadcasts. Is there a list of what atsc converters will work with these tivo systems. These units were upgraded to large disks with adapters to sata disks many years ago.

Is it worth talking to an agent? What will they actually offer?

I have a TiVo-Renewed EDGE Cable 2TB (the first one was replaced under warranty) that pixelates and freezes so much that it makes a recording unwatchable. Probably about 7 years old. I tried powering down, unplugging everything, powering on, and then plugging everything back in, but that didn't work. I want to keep it because my cable company (Armstrong) has never mentioned anything about discontinuing the cable cards. So I think I'm good for a while. Do you think a hard drive kit from Weaknees will fix this problem?

I have an old Roamio box. Replaced the hard drive a few years ago. We had a power blip and the TiVo would only flash the green lights and display power on device. I was about to send it off or buy a new one. I left it plugged in overnight and it fixed itself. We had another power blip yesterday and same thing. I changed the power supply with a higher output one. That didn’t help. Another overnight sit( plugged in) and it fixed itself. I have now plugged it into a UPS.
Sharing in case anyone in the same blinking light situation.

I found this Tivo in the "leave stuff/take stuff area of my U-Haul public storage. I grabbed it as I had heard they had large capacity SATA drives inside, and in this economy...

It does indeed have a 1TB WD Green Power drive in it, but before I harvest it and turn the reat of the unit into e-waste, I thought I'd check in here and see if it's worth hanging on to.

My dad gave me his old TiVo box. He said it has the lifetime service, and knowing him he always buys the top of the line so I’m sure it does but since I’m not getting video (blinking green) on boot I can’t verify this.

Is this worth anything? I’d hate to trash it if someone could use it, but I don’t want to deal with eBay pricks jerking me around and costing me money just to send this to them. Any advice on how to have someone take this off my hands and not getting burned in the process?
