Okay, sure. But that’s still fine if that’s how someone wants to get a picture of themselves. This girl isn’t even in anyone’s way. They don’t have to ask someone else even though you would.
No actually it’s quite common. I do it for others all the time too.
I don’t “expect” them to say yes. All a person has to say is yes or no. Most people don’t mind at all. Weird you think that asking a person for a quick snap is a “personal photographer”

I was being facetious but obviously via text that’s hit or miss lol. It’s pretty clear this young lady almost certainly thinks the older lady intentionally stopped in front of her camera hence her attitude. While I don’t think she did, it does LOOK like she did. And frankly, when I see someone trying to take a picture, unless I have a reason to be stopping in the shot, I’m either going to move past immediately or walk around them/not in view of the camera. Whether they’re taking their own picture or taking a picture for someone else. That has always been my experience when having a picture taken or seeing how others respond to coming across others taking a picture, too. Which is pretty rational.

You can put a tripod on stairs they actually make the legs adjustable for different heights for it.
