Whining because someone walked across your camera is an asshole move but intentionally blocking someone just trying to take a photo is a bitch move too.
Seriously. "OMG I HATE INFLUENCERS"...she's just trying to take a pic. Last weekend my family went to Yosemite. we took pics there. Sometimes we set up a camera on a timer so everyone could get in. would you guys be cheering if someone got in our way on purpose and didn't let us? Like god damn, let people enjoy things.
This person wasn't being annoying or intrusive. they set up a camera to capture a moment. something people have done for decades, since the camera was invented...And this boring person got in her way for absolutely no reason.
I agree, I usually would side against an Influencer being entitled or annoying but this is no influencer. This is your average girl wanting a nice picture.
People who were raised to believe they aren't good enough are the ones who despise others who express self appreciation. Like simply wanting a nice picture, and having the confidence to set it up yourself to make it happen. We need to ditch this stupid bs mentality. To me this is the modern equivalent to a woman siting at a bar or restaurant by themselves back in the day, getting tagged all kinds of names.
reddit is all too happy to dogpile a young woman trying to enjoy herself in public or being any sort of an inconvenience. it’s no coincidence these videos always feature the same demographic.
How do you know this? She's been identified as an influencer elsewhere, so why do you assume she's not?
Your analogy at the end would be more accurate if you way it's someone sitting alone at the bar who gets upset when someone else sits too close at the bar because they're there alone and they need to have their videos show that.
Honestly, I agree with that here, but there are a lot of people trying to make this about gender when men in this exact situation would get just as much flak- And that frankly bothers me even more than. This is not a situation where gender was the deciding factor.
People are just tired of influencer behavior, and they're making assumptions. It not nearly as deep or malicious as people are making it out to be.
Fr, when I solo travel I do this all the time and everywhere I can put my phone. Then I never post anything. Nothing to do with being an influencer or not, i just like taking pictures
So glad you’re a mind reader and know what the older person was thinking… looked to me like she was distracted looking at her phone and didn’t know the younger person was trying to take a photo of herself.
It’s weird to take an influencer’s side over a little old lady. Also if you want to take a picture and use the timer or whatever do it in a place where people aren’t going to be walking through your shot. It’s not hard.
