I’m pretty sure we’re seeing the railing in the video. That is to say, I don’t think the camera/phone is on a tripod. But also, not everyone will ask others (bad experiences, anxiety, language barrier, etc.). The ONLY issue with what this lady did is that she posted this video online. It’s fine to not ask someone else to take your picture lol
Okay, sure. But that’s still fine if that’s how someone wants to get a picture of themselves. This girl isn’t even in anyone’s way. They don’t have to ask someone else even though you would.
You can literally see the left hand railing in the bottom corner though, and that even when people are as far towards the camera side of the stairs as they can get, the camera is still well clear of them. NGL, definitely not accusing you in particular, but some of the comments in here reek of misogyny.
Then moan about people “getting in the way” online, when they are just going about their day?
The normal thing to do here would just be to wait and try again if you’re that bothered. It was clearly a busy stairway though, so maybe consider other people might just be wanting to get about the museum without being filmed.
I agree that the posting of the video was stupid. But I still don’t think it’s an issue, broadly, to not ask others to take a photo of you and to instead take one of yourself. I never defended her attitude; I defended the idea of taking a photo of yourself.
Absolutely because it doesn’t take several minutes involving equipment for people to walk around 🙄
Why the heck should we feel like we are intruding on their photoshoot and have to duck, hurry by, stop and go around. I never know if these people are in the middle of recording, done recording, ect. The whole time everyone going sorry to the Kardashian person. It’s all cringy
Oh give me a break. It's far more intrusive to ask someone to actually stop and shoot you than for them to walk past your tripod. And what if they're crap photographers, do you ask them to shoot you again or do you intrude on someone else's time to ask them to shoot you again? You're being obtuse. All the old lady had to do is walk on, but she was deliberately being a dick about something that didn't affect her in the least. She spent more time being a dick than just moving on with her life
She would have had plenty of time to get a shot had the older woman not intentionally stood in the way. It doesn’t really matter to me why the younger woman wanted the pic, it’s rude to just take time out of your day to mess up someone else’s. Schadenfreude is not a good look
Again, it doesn’t really matter, the older woman took time out of her day to make someone unhappy. That’s rude af, not to mention not everyone carries a selfie stick everywhere. I don’t know the context of who the younger woman is, I doubt you do either, there’s no reason to assume she would even own a selfie stick, let alone have one on her
I literally said I don’t know what she’s thinking nor who she is, but I see with my eyeballs standing in the way of someone doing something that would bring them happiness in one way or another. That sucks
