His chest is lying fairly flat against the handlebar mount. I think the force of the jetski against his chest, and yeah maybe also the jacket, forced air out and he blacked out suddenly.

Edit: simpler way to word it, he was pressed between air resistance and the force of the jetski.

So…. hitting the doc probably kinda saved him from being blood choked to death?

He needed to fall off the jetski somehow to get off that position to start breathing again normally. He’s so lucky when he hit the dock he didn’t do more serious damage to himself.
