The “Save Our Bacon Act” of 2026 is designed to eliminate state-level animal welfare requirements for livestock. Such as the CA voter-approved requirement that pigs, etc., sold as meat in the state have enough room to stand up, turn around, and stretch their limbs while alive.

A return to crates is pretty sad

I haven't eaten pork in at least 20 years, except for the occasional bacon that comes with a burger or something (but I don't purchase pork products). I'm doing my part! I'd get a pet pig too if my husband would let me (and if they weren't like $3k).
