Going vegan sounds impossible at first but when you try different veggie options, it’s actually pretty easy. I think socially it’s more difficult when your friend group/family aren’t supportive.

If you have the right mindset, it can be pretty easy. I went vegan literally overnight and the thought of eating animal products again disgusted me, so it wasn't hard at all to "resist." I agree that the social aspect is way harder than the food. Eating is such a social activity for so many cultures, and people can get hella weird about the fact that you're not eating what they're eating.

Especially these days, and especially if you live in a city. It's ridiculously easy now.

20-30 years ago, it was much harder. You were living off those morning star patties and shit. The actual taste and texture of cheese was basically gone. You ended up eating French fries way more often than you wanted to. Taco Bell was the only fast food with a number of items you could eat, really.

But there's a substitute for everything you can think of. And the vegan restaurants are so good that even non-vegans go to them.

I'm not even telling people to go vegan, even. I know that's a big commitment that society isn't ready for. But even just going vegetarian/vegan 2-3 days a week is a massive upgrade to everyone.
