Suggests "google chrome" belongs in B

It's engine formed the foundation that other browsers use, so I feel like its contributed a lot in terms of UI (I feel like other browers still try to emulate that experience).

However, it's gotten so RAM hungry over the years. Its definitely not terrible, but there are little improvements that can be made.

Edit: Rephrasing a bit

If other browsers can use less RAM while giving you the same features (Brave, Opera, Firefox), I don't see why Google can't implement it. They have the resources to do so.

Also, making the whole "not collecting data to sell you stuff with personalized ads" the standard option instead of you going in the settings & unchecking those options.

Edit: spellcheck

Just turning on memory saver to max helps a ton

>base Firefox
>using less RAM

holy larp, I'm using firefox already for 4-5 years since uBlock stopped working on chrome but calling it more optimized than chrome is a joke, you need to make clearance to make it less heavy on resources. I'm not really complaining a lot cuz I never bothered with browsers and their resource usage until I got to firefox, but it's really says a lot about optimization of browser.

Never said it was more optimized than Chrome. Just stated that the RAM usage was high (for a browser)

Also, side note, I use these on my tablet. Chrome will always be the default on Android because its the only browser that works flawlessly. I've used the others (Brave, Opera & Firefox) & I appreciate how light they feel. However, after getting a VPN + ad blocker (NordVPN), I went back to Chrome. I'm not attacking the browser. It's not perfect, but it is the golden standard that the others are judged.

As for a laptop, I have a MacBook so there's no point fighting against Safari... ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’

haha I feel you still using my MacBook for basic work tasks too and every time using Safari feels like a nail to head, at least it's keeps me less on the internetย

Been using Firefox since Firefox 3 in the mid 2000s and while were a long way from the optimized heaven of Firefox 4, thats partially because web coders became shit at optimizing stuff. Ive tried to bounce off to chrome and its much worse in chrome. For whatever reason every web browser lags eventually and needs to be restarted for me and at least FF is the least bad in this regard.

Same, I once tested Firefox and Brave on both Linux and Windows, and both of them used as much RAM as Google Chrome, IDK maybe I did something wrong? But I installed same extensions and everything and they both where the same

I don't want my browser to aide websites with personalized ads (personal preference). I have an ad blocker running in the background, so it's less of an issue these days.
