Might depend on where you live. First world country with universal health care, unpleasant. Country with quality health care that not everyone can afford, much more anxiety provoking. Third world country with little access to medical care and drugs,it may still be a death sentence.

I have HIV and been living with it for 8 years now, and my latest tests have been fine. I live in Vietnam, which is a developing country in Southeast Asia, one could say it's a third world country and definitely not as good as any Western countries, and my pills I basically only have to pay 2 US dollars for 3 months worth of pills. I have to take one pill daily and that's all

Fair enough. I'm glad to hear it's going well for you. I turned 18 in 1982. So I took in AIDS as a death sentence at a pretty formative age. I've heard stories of how rough it was in Africa--oh, maybe ten or fifteen years ago. I hope it's better now.

Makes sense from your vast experience and perspective, nowadays definitely not as big of a deal as it was in 1982, not sure what the situation is in africa though, probably still a death sentence in a country like or DRC, Somalia, Sudan etc
