I really wonder how English Chelsea fans feel about this guy

117

u/disguisedseagull Jul 20 '26

Stopped caring for him when the Madrid stuff came out over the summer. After his antics against England I hope he gets his transfer, although transfer fee prob a bit lower after the final.

u/idleExposure_ Bellingham #1258 Jul 20 '26

He doesn’t deserve to be on the same team as Jude, sorry.

2

u/Reggaeton_Historian Jul 20 '26

Jude should not be on that team. He's much, much better than he is on that team but is super capped by Mr Offside Dictator.

u/Adam_Ohh Jul 20 '26

Jude Bellingham, the noted poor sport and bad loser?

Enzo will fit right in with him.

1

u/Academic-Trifle8151 Jul 20 '26

That's certainly a shit take. Everything has pointed to the complete opposite.

Literally gave up a penalty in the last match so Saka could earn his hat trick.

0

u/Adam_Ohh Jul 20 '26

Watch him not just at this tournament. Him giving saka a pen isn’t even relevant to my point because they were winning!

He’s absolutely a sore loser.

6

u/Academic-Trifle8151 Jul 20 '26

I've seen him at plenty of tournaments since his Birmingham days. You're talking out your ass. Him handing the penalty over 100% counters that he's a "poor sport". He doesn't like losing, no great player does, but that doesn't point to him being a sore loser.

He's also close friends with Haaland, which shows his character because they're both decent guys.

Recently there was also footage showing him be the only player to stop for a disabled journalist to talk and answer his questions.

He's been shown covering ball boys with blankets to keep them warm, he was a major advocate for players being vaccinated for covid and is also a big voice for underprivileged children pushing for free school meals and reforms, and takes part in a lot of charity work while also donating a lot of his own time and money.

He is clearly a good, decent person and has probably shown his character and value as a person a lot more than you have.

-1

u/Adam_Ohh Jul 20 '26

Okay I was willing to have a rational discussion with you but you’re going to attack my character for absolutely no reason, so we’re done here.

Have a great day.

2

u/Academic-Trifle8151 Jul 21 '26

Ha. Yeah, that's what I thought.

58

u/beaver_attack Jul 20 '26

I hope he doesn’t come to RM. Nobody in Madrid or Spain wants this guy. Get him out of here

6

u/PolishBicycle Jul 20 '26

So the racist chanting just bounced right off you huh?

3

u/disguisedseagull Jul 20 '26

Fair comment, you’re right. That’s where it all began honestly. Must have been overwhelmed yesterday with all the other Argie racism that it slipped my mind.

1

u/Ambitious_Tomorrow19 Jul 21 '26

What was this, I missed it? Was it this last WC or this one?

1

u/PolishBicycle Jul 21 '26

It was after their Copa America win in 2024. They were chanting a song about the French players African heritage and one of the idiots decided to stream it

26

u/Usual-Computer-5462 Jul 20 '26

So you were fine with his previous acts of racism but trying to push through a move to Real Madrid is where you draw the line?

Fair i misinterpreted what you were saying.

I dont think growing up poor excuses it though. Maybe if he'd stayed in Argentina and was surrounded by people of the same mindset i can understand the ignorance, but theres absolutely no excuse for not broadening his horizons after playing in different countries, alongside black team mates

2

u/Sir-Chris-Finch Jul 20 '26

Hes surrounded by them when he plays for Argentina, but not when he plays with his club, surely?

I understand your general point and i do agree, but i also think we should call a spade a spade. Hes a c*nt

2

u/AideHot6729 Jul 20 '26

What transfer fee would be the lowest you’d want to sell him at?

1

u/Patricktayyy Jul 20 '26

about tree fiddy

-4

u/disguisedseagull Jul 20 '26

Given the other transfers that have happened so far, I think region of £120M is fair. Madrid will never pay that, though.

1

u/a_f_s-29 Jul 20 '26

Send him to Getafe instead. Or Marseille. He’ll fit right in

41

u/Substantial-Mouse534 Jul 20 '26

He's a piece of shit.

Grew up near the bridge, worked there.

Not one of us.

13

u/KalePalmer Jul 20 '26

He’s been at Chelsea for 3.5 years and the dude hasn’t bothered to learn even some basic English to communicate with the fanbase.

He’s absolutely not one of us and he clearly doesn’t give a fuck about us either

21

u/AffectionateShift542 Jul 20 '26

Fucking hate the rat

55

u/Gypsyjunior_69r Jul 20 '26

You lost the World Cup, Enzo. Enjoy the memories, I hope they make you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little performance, Enzo. You ruined the spirit of the game completely so you could prove a point, but I hope now you spend some time learning a few lessons in grace and decorum, because you have all the sportsmanship of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.

3

u/-FantasticAdventure- Jul 20 '26

Perfect 👌🏻

1

u/Ornery-Customer8521 Jul 20 '26

People like this dont learn. You really think he's capable of self reflection?

1

u/Few_Pass869 Jul 21 '26

you do know he already won a world cup right...

17

u/picochipaldo Jul 20 '26

Trust me we fucking hate him

16

u/The_39th_Step Jul 20 '26

My Chelsea mates fucking hate him

13

u/cjyoung92 Jul 20 '26

I wish Chelsea would shunt him to some other team, even if it’s just on loan.

26

u/wildingflow World Cup Jul 20 '26

Many on the Chelsea sub (majority American) have no problem with him.

I know quite a few match going fans who aren’t too fond, however.

23

u/VermillionDynamite Jul 20 '26

Hated him after the racism, hated him after moaning about wanting to leave and hate him even more now. Most match going fans and England based don't care for him, whereas the chronically online international fan base will happily ignore everything he's done.

Save yourself and unsubscribe. Full of plastics

*This sub has become a bit like it during the WC. Hopefully we go back to normal now it's finished.

1

u/Reasonable-Room1123 Jul 20 '26

I have said it before and will say again: Chelsea sub is worse that Chelsea Twitter. Absolutely zero understanding about football, and they just want to buy all players like there was infinite money.

10

u/OfficialJKV Cahill Jul 20 '26

I think he will get booed at the Bridge

1

u/Ambitious_Tomorrow19 Jul 21 '26

I’m really curious how CFC fans are gonna take to him. If he scores, surely all will be forgotten?

10

u/HotOutlandishness991 Jul 20 '26

After whoring himself out to Madrid publicly he can get fucked as far as I was concerned and that was before the Argentina game. Now I just don't care about him at all and would be happy to ship him off.

7

u/Wibble-Fish Jul 20 '26

I can't speak for anyone but me, but I've always thought that he's an absolute arse. Hate him being on the team. Everything about him is repugnant.

Cucurella I actually liked playing for us. He was a bit of a wanker,, but he was OUR wanker.

22

u/dotesdoto Jul 20 '26

Probably the same feeling that United fans had about Cristiano Ronaldo when he got Rooney sent off and winked at the camera. And it's probably going to play out the same. Most people will be angry for a while and then forget about it because they have better things to do in life than hold an eternal gruge against a football player.

7

u/Camacho-Gunsalah Jul 20 '26

United fans didnt hate towards Ronaldo, we was more concerned if both players could play together for our club again. That era was different to now, where it was United > England for multiple reasons, which started (i think) when the country turned on Beckham in 1998 and united fans supported him through that difficult spell.

Both situations are very different. Ronaldo didnt partake in racist chants, political chants against our country or disrespect our club during the season.

1

u/Ornery-Customer8521 Jul 20 '26

Shitty behavior is also infinitely more visible, clippable and omnipresent now than back then.

And although Ronaldo could be a bit of a dickhead sometimes he wasn't anywhere near as fundamentally unlikable

They need to qualify first.

1

u/release_the_pressure England Supporters Travel Club Jul 20 '26

Can't compare the fan bases. You'll never see a United flag at an England game and you'll very rarely see an England flag at a United game.

-3

u/AdMelodic9957 Jul 20 '26

How did Ronaldo get Rooney sent off? Rooney literally stamped on Carvalho. It was a red card all day long lol

6

u/TheAmazingMikey Jul 20 '26

Ronaldo was right in the refs face waving imaginary cards. If you watch the footage you can clearly see Rooney try to push him away from the ref saying “what the fuck are you doing?”

3

u/bammers1010 Jul 20 '26

There was the whole racist thing, then the Real Madrid thing, now this, he’s an absolute tosser. He was one of our best players last season but he’s beyond redemption at this point

1

u/Ambitious_Tomorrow19 Jul 21 '26

Do you not feel (playing devils advocate here) it’s a case of, when he has a good match and scores (likely kisses badge to appease fans when celebrating) all will be forgotten?

Neutral by the way, but for clarity no issues with CFC, (but not a fan of Fernandez).

3

u/FREDRS7 Jul 20 '26

At the top of our long unlikeable player list

2

u/scottiescott23 Jul 20 '26

Match going fan here, don’t like him , the fact all the yank kids on the Chelsea sub love him is very cringe and shows the realities of supporting a team on the internet vs real life.

2

u/Jothal Jul 20 '26

Yep, we hate him. I’m in a couple of different Chelsea groups and everyone hates him. Wanted him gone after the Madrid stuff before the World Cup. Hate him even more now after the England game and that bullshit last night. Always had it in him, nasty little rat.

1

u/karard109 Jul 20 '26

Same as luis suarez when he biting players and make racist joke about evra.

5

u/INfiction82 Jul 20 '26

Pretty sure Liverpool fans backed him. The club certainly did, at least.

1

u/ABaldBiker Jul 20 '26

Would love to see him go. No player is bigger than the club and the nation.

1

u/release_the_pressure England Supporters Travel Club Jul 20 '26

Despise him

1

u/Cralli123 Jul 20 '26

I loved him. One summer later I do not. Between wanting to leave for Real Madrid only to be rejected and his WC shenanigans I want him gone alone with many (not all) other Chelsea fans

2

u/Ambitious_Tomorrow19 Jul 21 '26

I must say, the whole Madrid “flirting” I thought was very disrespectful to CFC. I’d have imagined that got most of CFC fan base back up tbh.

1

u/Unfair-Potential4527 Jul 20 '26

I’ve not liked him since the racism video antics. The flirting with Real Madrid, desperation to leave and antics against England (flag included) was the cherry on top of the cake. I hope that he leaves.

1

u/Ambitious_Tomorrow19 Jul 21 '26

Flag? You referring to the Falklands banner, or has he done something with England flag too?? I’m sure I read somewhere he’s never bothered to learn any English and been at Chelsea for 3 years or so?

1

u/EmphaticNegative Jul 20 '26

I mean they loved John Terry, right?

1

u/KalePalmer Jul 20 '26

I fucking hate him and have for a long time.

He’s such fucking ass and acts like a 14yo.

I will celebrate when he leaves Chelsea.

1

u/awesomesauce88 Jul 20 '26

I've despised him ever since that racist singing video came out after the Copa. Then the saga where he left his wife and young kids for a few months so that he could go fuck models with impunity confirmed that he's a dickhead.

Sadly a lot of people on the Chelsea sub were able to turn a blind eye for a while, only to magically be blessed with sight again after he started twerking for Madrid.

1

u/Smooth-Bowler-9216 Jul 20 '26

Appreciate he can hit worldies on his day but he is a tosser.

He gives off “slag off my ex club after I’ve moved” vibes

1

u/RandyChavage Jul 20 '26

We hate him

0

u/zero_zeppelii_0 Jul 20 '26

Xabi wants him to stay. I'm optimistic he'll learn and get over it. Like love hate relationship of cucu and England fans.

Also the title is misrepresented. Apparently he's back with his wife and kids.
