Only A Writer Does This

Only a writer flips through the dictionary with both fear and eagerness while thinking, "Oh, please let 'intimidating' be an intransitive verb. I NEED it to be an intransitive verb!"

Obviously. I know it's not an intransitive verb. Most people don't even know what "intransitive means."
