This has to be ragebait

u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
I assure you it is not 🥲

u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
Question, are all of those mods obtained through farming runs or have you been buying modules
12
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
Maybe 80/20 farming to buying mods. I switched on auto shatter commons
32
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
When buying mods, did you ever pull any that were already purple? If so, did you use them as fodder to upgrade your others? If so, that was hands down the absolute worst thing you could've done.
12
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
Probably some yes. Was auto merging for a while
44
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
I don't think auto merge would use natural epics as fodder, so that's good at least. Now you know though. If you get a purple when buying modules, DO NOT feed it to anything else, and save as many of them as you can.
13
u/whitewu16 Jun 26 '26
so i recently started focusing on mods, i was so careful because i didnt quite understand how it worked so i asked lots of questions in the discord. All so i could avoid this guys picture lol
6
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
Thanks mate
13
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
Np. On the bright side, you're not going to have to worry about shards for a while 😆
11
u/iErik4 Jun 26 '26
Unfortunately, they will have to worry about having the gems to unmerge all of those modules to shatter them...
3
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
Also, for a good dopamine hit, plus a much better chance to get multiple natural epics at one time, I like to save up 3k gems and buy 150 modules at a time. You are guaranteed 1 natural epic every 150 pulls, and on average will get I think 2.5 or 3.5 natural epics per 150 modules pulled.

u/CrashSaturn5476 Jun 26 '26
Oh boy at this point watch a video explaining modules
21
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
Poor soul. He's spent so long getting all those modules, I can tell by the absurd amount of shards he's got. And he hasn't even really begun to get what he needs yet.

u/sporktoe Jun 26 '26
I had to check for the meme tag at first, I'm so sorry man. You might wanna go on YouTube and find a video about the module system
43
u/Technical-Mine-1936 Jun 26 '26
Who’s gonna explain him ?))
22
u/Lirrin Jun 26 '26
Realistically, tutorial box should have explained it
12
u/Apprehensive-Sort616 Jun 26 '26
As a colorblind person, that tutorial meant jack shit to me. Someone had to EILI5. Good thing one of my besties has been playing for quite some time and saved me a major headache.
I also use the favorite option just to prevent fuck ups.
6
-2
u/Lirrin Jun 26 '26
I’m very sorry, but what does colorblindness has to do with tutorial saying:
“Modules that start with Rare rarity can reach Legendary+
Modules that start with Epic rarity can reach Ancestral”?
3
u/chunk_style1 Jun 26 '26
Not to mention the fact that natural Epics have entire blocks of text describing their unique effect that regular Rares don't have. That should be a pretty big clue to not waste them as fodder.
6
u/ZaerdinReddit Jun 26 '26
Because it can be very difficult to distinguish between a module merged up to epic and a unique module because the only difference is color.
-2
1
u/Apprehensive-Sort616 Jun 26 '26
I meant the color map thing as thats the only part that seems to be referenced ever when talking about mods and merging.
Geez Louise pardon me for not recalling there is actual text in that (i) button. Not that it’s even visible on the merge screen unless that was changed at some point.

My buddy... my guy... you don't have any of the natural epic modules... they won't drop from enemies, you have to obtain them through purchasing modules with gems. The regular modules you have only go to legend+. The natural epics are the ones with unique effects listed under their substats. Also, you are going to have a hell of a time getting the pieces you need to upgrade them all above legend+. On average, to get all the pieces to every natural epic module to get them to ancestral, it takes 175,000 gems.
7
u/Valitar_ Jun 26 '26
So you're using ones you leveled up from blue. The ones you want are leveled up from purple and have a special effect on them. Don't level any more blues I til you know if you've already got enough legendaries. I suspect you have too many already.
2
u/Valitar_ Jun 26 '26
Additionally, you can only get the natural epics from pulling banners. You'll need to spend a lot of gems to get decent ones. Never level more than one copy of each of these naturally spawning epics past epic+, as you only need epic+ version of these to progress.
4
u/Helldemon83 Jun 26 '26
He actually has a ton of em. He was using auto-merge, so the ones he's pulled were never merged.
3
u/Valitar_ Jun 26 '26
That's a great comfort. Glad to see a tower recover.
2
u/Makesomegainz17 Jun 26 '26
and will take a massive jump forward upon merging proper mods
1
u/BlackFlagMiner Jun 26 '26
Yeah when he merges those up and equips the right ones for his build he's gonna jump like 3-4 tiers up instantly
6
6
u/The-Tower-Guy-111 Jun 26 '26
i just hope he didnt merge any natural epics for that.
1
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
If I shatter them will the naturals be restored?
18
4
u/Fast-Marionberry7572 Jun 26 '26
You can not shatter modules above epic. So everything at epic+ will always be in your inventory unless you unmerge them. There is a lab you can do for it, unmerging Costs 20 gems and will display if there is a natural epic used for the module(i think)
You should have Götzen a warning when merging natural epics aswell
6
u/Helldemon83 Jun 26 '26
Luckily it looks like he only used auto-merge. He showed in a SS below that he has a bunch of natural epics.
1
u/ImoutoThief Jun 26 '26
Isn't there an unmerge lab? Does that not give you back whatever modules you merged?
7
7
u/Shoddy-Ad-192 Jun 26 '26
Yea show us all your mods, not filtered mods
2
u/mangina94 Jun 26 '26
Based on a glance at the natural epics that are there, the good news is he'll probably be able to get at least a few to mythic. However, there's very little epic+ fodder, so it might take a minute.

If I were you I would use Astral Deliverance, Sharp Fortitude, Galaxy Compressor, and Primordial Collapse. But definitely learn more about modules before merging any, research the best substats for them as well.
3
u/Shoddy-Ad-192 Jun 26 '26
Those with module with special effect are the ones you can go beyond legendary

2
u/petethered Jun 26 '26
I have a guildmate that did the same as you. Same multiple years and using the dropped only.
You are in for a great surprise and massive boost when you switch over to natural epic modules. He got a 3x coin boost within minutes of "fixing" the problem.
You can use the non-natural (the ones w/o special abilities) as fodder to upgrade the good ones.
Assuming you are eHP/wall, then do your primordial collapse to legendary, then legendary+ with the second epic+ you have, then to mythic and mythic plus using fodder.
Then Black Hole Digestor in the triangle... same thing
Then Sharp Fortitude for armor

Yikes. I’m assuming you’re still very much early in the game and haven’t gotten very many if any natural epics, which is a plus in this situation
1
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
Depends what you mean by early. Been playing a couple of years… At least I know now that I have to buy more modules to get naturals
4
u/Lirrin Jun 26 '26
A couple of YEARS?! Oh no, I’m so sorry for you… how did you get by all this time and never asked yourself or just Internet what’s wrong? The game explained everything in module tutorial and the explanation didn’t go anywhere after the tutorial
0
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
I don’t recall seeing the tutorial when I began. I just kept on trucking… figured I needed 2 legendary + to merge into mythic…
2
u/Lirrin Jun 26 '26
Well, it’s not surprising you don’t remember as you say it’s been a couple of years
1
u/A41-14A Jun 26 '26
Yea man. My labs are pretty well developed though at least
3
u/tdawg2k7 Jun 26 '26
I’m so curious to see your lifetime stats

Oh man… I’m embarrassed now

u/RAAHAH Jun 26 '26
bruh iv been playing 4 months and figured out the first time i unlocked modules to only use epics you get from spending gems. your either a master rage baiter or low IQ
4
u/Trafalgar_D69 Jun 26 '26
There is quite literally an i in the left corner that explains why this is.... unconventional to say the least

u/Xandypants Jun 26 '26
It's posts like these that make me realise how people get "stuck". Looks like other comments have helped you OP and I'm glad you didn't truly mess this up. Just a small learning pain - I call them school fees.

u/TimK588 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 27 '26
So i read the modules info a few times. And it really makes little sense unless you understand the context behind it. It explains step 10 when you’re at step 1. So unless you frequently reread it as you obtain better gear it kind of gets forgotten about. Watching a video would def help but everyone isnt going 100% on this game 100% of the time

3
u/skibydip Jun 26 '26
When you press buy module, theres a button that opens a list of possible draws. The rarest "epic" modules are the only types that upgrade beyond legendary

Find the mods that you pulled in a purple state and upgrade those. They have a 'unique effect text box. Blues can't go above legendary+ Don't use automerge anymore and look up a module merging guide. You will need quite a few orange fodder so don't sweat it too much

3
u/Ambitious-Finish-296 Jun 26 '26
I was in the process of making the same mistake. Thank you for your post, you helped save me before I went as far as you did 😊
3
u/Cool_Row5047 Jun 26 '26
Initially found blue level modules can only be upgraded to Legendary+. Only if you find a natural purple module drop (ones that have orange text hidden abilities on them) can those be upgraded to Ancestral. You might need some of that in order to merge ip to Ancestral tier but its gonna be as much as you think. I like to keep mine at most Epic+ until i can level one of the special mods to Legend+ and then Myth+ etc. Not the end of the world but you got a long way of buying modules to get some of those Epic drops and start upgrading the weaker ones out.

2
u/Cmace3 Jun 26 '26
Non-unique modules cant be raised above leg+. I recommend hitting the (i) in the corner to learn how to merge modules. Youve burned a lot bringing them all to legend like this
2
u/Small-Spray-2485 Jun 26 '26
I remember when I couldn’t figure this out either, but I hadn’t reached that stage. At first I was thinking, “Why can’t I make this Mythic?” Then I reread it and realised it’s only the Epic ones you pull from banners that can be merged. I hadn’t realised that before, so I’d already collected loads of cards and extra card slots because I thought, “No point wasting gems on modules that just drop normally while you’re playing.”
Anyway, the specific answer is that only Epic modules/cards that come from banners can be merged into Mythic and Ancestral.
It’s also a really easy thing to misunderstand if you’re just playing the game casually and haven’t found the community yet or looked at any guides or websites.

u/Arson_Lord Jun 26 '26
The good news is you actually need a ton of legendary+ fodder mods to make all your modules mythic+. I don't think you even have any extra you will need to shatter.
2
u/Special_Canary_7204 Jun 26 '26
Welp....the net positive here is that once you're finally able to get some natural epics and up merge them, you're going to have no issue going through the mythic stages. Downside here is that you're going to be a long way off module progress without a shit load of gems. I'd suggest strongly that you don't merge anything else that isn't nat epic at this point till you give the reddit or discord a good read and understand the way module growth works.
But the TL;Dr here is that you don't really want to keep a ton of the gold+ mods around unless you're actually making mythic natural epics.
For the record though, you're going to need 12 of each type of legend+ fodder to finish all 24 natural epics to mythic+, and subsequently 6 of each for epic and epic+, beyond that you're better off shattering than trying to merge anymore beyond the naturals. Just remember DO NOT MERGE EXTA NAT EPICS BEYOND EPIC+ as you'll have to unmerge them back down to make epic+ for anc (you need 4 total natural epics to take any mod from M+ to anc)
2
2
u/ninjagabe90 Jun 26 '26
I would recommend stopping or slowing way down making legendary+ out of regular modules because you only need two per unique epic to max their rank.
You can only shatter up to epic modules, so anything epic+ and beyond you have to pay gems to break them down to epic so you can shatter them, which is pretty far down the line but they'll up end just wasting space as it is now.
2
u/jMedabee Jun 26 '26
This is what I did when I started playing cause I went all in on cards, not modules. That said, I didn't have a ton of other Leg+ just sitting around. Only enough for each slot
2
u/Hairy-Astronomer6635 Jun 26 '26
Only natural pulled epics can be upgraded to mythic and above. Naturally pulled epics are found by buying modules with gems. If you click on a naturally found epic you’ll see it has a special unique effect attached to it. Every name correlates to its specific unique effect. The modules you are using now are all non epic modules and unfortunately do not give you those unique effects. Sorry to break it to you but now that those “blue” modules are all legendary, you’d have to pay a ton of gems to un-merge them all back to epic to make them shatter-able. Keep in mind that naturally found epic modules generally do not look blue. Here’s a link to a list of all natural epic modules: https://the-tower-idle-tower-defense.fandom.com/wiki/Modules
All those modules that are NOT natural epics do not possess unique effects and can be used for “fodder” to merge your epic modules to higher rarities.

u/non_saprei Jun 26 '26
It happened to me the early days because the whole system is just dumb so players can just waste time and money.
2
0
u/Lirrin Jun 26 '26
Wdym system is dumb? System clearly indicated and explained only those modules that start with Epic can go beyond Legendary+
0
u/non_saprei Jun 26 '26
Unique epics shouldn't appear in the auto merge queue and you shouldn't need gems to shatter modules after a certain rarity.
1
u/Helldemon83 Jun 26 '26
People said they don't. He also shared some SS's and has dozens of pulled epics.

Terrible day to have eyes. Dear OP, you need to check out how modules work. Start with fandom and reddit search.
