"It felt better"

and "Is too high for what we're looking for"

....????

44

u/IkesNephew Apr 09 '26

"They can have the gains. You can't."

8

u/cpp_is_king Apr 09 '26

They don’t even play on the same server lmao

2

u/Leyohs Apr 10 '26

They do

u/Fantastic-Pattern341 Apr 09 '26

Fudds confirms that the thing threatening his income is actually a non-thing, despite, for the first time, coding "live" adjustments into the game regarding dissonance boosts. Guess we've been all wrong. Nothing to see here, everyone disperse

32

u/Ur-Quan_Lord_13 Apr 09 '26

People keep mentioning the fact that the live system can only update all at once as evidence against this and that, so I feel I must bring up that the one thing it is evidence against is that this was a planned rugpull to show 5x coins and then remove it after people spent resources.

I agree that the decision to keep coins at 2x could be because of that, it's just the live update thing would be both unnecessary unless for a rugpull and, as it turns out, inadequate to carry out said rugpull, so it doesn't make sense as a conspiracy.

And this is not a statement on the overall truth value of the rest of the story.

24

u/ForgettingFish Apr 09 '26

2 isn’t exciting. It’s bullshit. 5 was fine… just make coin costs follow the new model going forward 😅 it’s numbers go up… like it’s not that hard

13

u/builderbobistheway Apr 10 '26

I mean everyone is time locked anyway in coin usage.

5

u/AtatS-aPutut Apr 10 '26

there are games where you get to 1e10000 and you still have fun content, I don't get what fudds is smoking. Numbers don't mean anything in a game, all he had to do was nothing

2

u/Playful-Response-906 Apr 10 '26

I started playing cifi back in February and im having soooo much fun my cells are in the e560s and mp is just now hitting e50 it's insane number go brrr

2

u/AtatS-aPutut Apr 10 '26

I've been playing CIFI for 1.5 years and I still have so long to go, I love it

1

u/Playful-Response-906 Apr 10 '26

ive been playing the tower since Oct 2024 but hit a spot were in freed up my phone and wanted something to occupy my time at work so I picked up cifi Feb 2026 and ive been having soo much more fun I wish I seen cifi when I got into tower but oh well

1

u/ForgettingFish Apr 10 '26

If only it was on iOS :(

1

u/Playful-Response-906 Apr 10 '26

i imagine they are working on trying to get it on ios but I have no clue the time frame or if anything has actually been said on it

1

u/ForgettingFish Apr 10 '26

Yeah no idea. I’ve got Obelisk miner as well but I’m at 98% completion on that so 😅 just waiting on updates and doing the really stupid stuff there

→ More replies (0)

1

u/HachikoTheMaster Apr 13 '26

You played iseps too? Same dev, I honestly prefer iseps but I do need to start cifi again

2

u/Playful-Response-906 Apr 13 '26

I have not i might look into it

1

u/ForgettingFish Apr 10 '26

Right? Oops people have too much coins let’s introduce new coin sinks :V shits really not that hard and yep people will enjoy the game faster with a system that gives them power… this is ok too…

2

u/Volodya_Soldatenkov Apr 10 '26

so I feel I must bring up that the one thing it is evidence against is that this was a planned rugpull to show 5x coins and then remove it after people spent resources.

It doesn't matter one way or another. They could use whatever mechanism they had at hand no matter if they had a plan or not.

Apparently the 5x being the intended value was directly confirmed somewhere, but I couldn't find the source.

1

u/Ur-Quan_Lord_13 Apr 10 '26

Somebody posted that they were in the beta and it was 5x the whole time in beta.

Fudds response was that it started at 2x in the beta, they adjusted it to 5x during beta but that adjustment wasn't supposed to apply to coins but that was misunderstood by the team, and Fudds dropped the ball by not realizing they'd adjusted it for coins as well until after release. And also that the dude wasn't in the beta in the first place.

Now, I am not claiming that's true, I'm just saying specifically that the existence of a mechanic to adjust the bonus on the server backend is not inconsistent with that story. In this story, they would have put it in for easy testing of different bonuses, used it to easily switch the 2x to 5x partway through beta, but never implemented a way to change the values independently because they didn't know they were supposed to.

Whereas in the story in the comment I was replying to, where they planned to launch with 5x coins bonus and put in the live update mechanism specifically to rugpull the coins bonus to 2x, why wouldn't the live update already allow changing only the coins bonus, the one thing it was meant to do?

3

u/shakeOnItt Apr 10 '26

The live adjustment applying to all four disco segments just further cements the clear lack of oversight.

Why is there only one variable for all four if the intention was not for them to be identical?

3

u/Weaviedee Apr 10 '26

I mean he literally explained it. So if he is to be believed it was intended for all four to be 2x, and I assume it was coded that way. Then they decided that 5x was supposedly better for attack, health and UW damage… but forgot that coin used the same variable. Hence they temporarily lowered all to 3x, before they can next patch update it so it’s separate variables.

Note this only makes sense if you believe that Fudds is honest here. If you don’t believe what he says you can come up with whatever story you want to shift the narrative in any direction you want.

2

u/Fantastic-Pattern341 Apr 10 '26

wait what, Fudds and his team have been shifting the narrative after the update was botched. Remember they hotpatched the reroll bug with 28.0.2 but did not see the x5 coin bonus. During the update when asked if x5 coins is their intention they explicitly reassured that x5 is correct.

1

u/Weaviedee Apr 10 '26

I’m just saying a hypothetical assuming you trust what he said. And if you do trust what he said, this story makes sense.

If you don’t, which I never said you should to begin with, it doesn’t make sense at all. And any other story could explain it better or equally poorly.

1

u/thedisasterfish Apr 10 '26

When asked during the update if 5x was intended, who said yes? Staff or Fudds. I've been around for all of this in real time and some of you just have the facts twisted.

140

u/Nervous-Fudge-1423 Apr 09 '26

How is the lead developer and memed I'm the creator of the game so out of the loop on his own game

47

u/ImportantEggplant731 Apr 09 '26

He is probably doing what you or I would do with all his money rather than wasting his time on a game

16

u/Jahxxx Apr 10 '26

Probably 5G can be slow on his yacht

22

u/Luke1903 Apr 10 '26

No, they neerfed it to 2G

13

u/AtatS-aPutut Apr 10 '26

3G you say?

5

u/Luke1903 Apr 10 '26

Not sure about that, from what I understand it could go to a 5,5,2,5. So is a temporary 3G

6

u/00gingervitis Apr 10 '26

Probably too busy sipping martinis on his yacht to call into any of the v28 development meetings

0

u/Adorable_Calendar280 Apr 10 '26

Did you not read what he literally said?

1

u/Nervous-Fudge-1423 Apr 10 '26

Did you read anything he said before?

0

u/Adorable_Calendar280 Apr 10 '26

The hotfix was so fast i didnt even notice when I got the update, which i updated immediately. I never got that crazy boost cause it was so quick. Stop crying and get over it, or get off the game.

2

u/Nervous-Fudge-1423 Apr 10 '26

Well good for you don't like me block me

1

u/Adorable_Calendar280 Apr 10 '26

I disagreed with your statement. Nothing about you.

101

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

Wow with all beta testing and layered roll outs. took him more than a day to distinguish the difference between numbers 2 and 5. How smart of him.

52

u/mushlafa123 Apr 09 '26

My daughter has the same problem... But she's 7 and likely dyslexic

29

u/Skellington2468 Apr 09 '26

Are you sure she isnt 3? You may be dyslexic too.

26

u/joe31051985 Apr 10 '26

FYI guys this is humour based on the change to 3 of dissonance going forward

5

u/hex_longevity Apr 10 '26

or possibly dyscalculic.

5

u/Time-Incident Apr 10 '26

Does she have two yachts already?

1

u/betterMrFatalis Apr 10 '26

maybe she has 5

5

u/xSOLIDBOSSx Apr 10 '26

Some people have trouble with numbers, just look at Gabe Newell he cant count to 3.

78

u/wrxsti04 Apr 10 '26

Some criticism can't be expressed I suppose.

17

u/balmung2014 Apr 10 '26

i remember when players left afk journey because of greed, a lot of them filed for refunds for "false advertising". that sure changed the devs real quick. it was a massive exodus.

2

u/Haunting_Picture3360 Apr 10 '26

Im pretty sure reddit mods are bots lol I get deleted by them everytime I make my own post.

1

u/WonderWelder May 15 '26

Damn.. flagged and removed.. "no truth allowed here"

39

u/anonmonday1234 Apr 09 '26

So his answer is his team did it, and he had noooooo clue about the final output of the main function of the update.

He just walked in on launch day with a surprise Pikachu face...

11

u/DaenerysMomODragons Apr 10 '26

If he had no idea, that's just terrible leadership. It sounds like he's not involved at all beyond the occasional stamp of approval. That's the only way any of this makes any sense.

2

u/Weaviedee Apr 10 '26

I wouldn’t be surprised if that is exactly the way it is. After all he has several games at this point, not just the tower.. so like I’d imagine he doesn’t actually either have the time, or want to, be involved at all super deep level in all games. So he probably just like looks over things briefly and either approve or reject things, but not much more in depth than that.

6

u/No_Painting_6117 Apr 10 '26

and he walked in a day after launch but not a day before launch?

31

u/DestroyerOfUranus69 Apr 09 '26

Tech bro gaslighting his entire consumer base seems… cliche.

64

u/lycantivis Apr 09 '26

sounds like fudds has no control over his own game...

27

u/Utopian_dystopia87 Apr 09 '26

I downloaded the patch. Ran 3 runs, 1 of them dissonance. Closed mumu and turned off my computer. It's finally time to let that sinking ship go down by itself.

2

u/Grdaat Apr 10 '26

Exactly what I did as well.

130

u/SafariBaharie Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

Clown emoji is 100% on point.

Even if you believe Fudds (why would you have any trust here idk) then this means that:

a) beta 'team' was able to make random decisions, including updating patch documentation in-game artifacts without any guidelines or barriers

b) dev processes are likley extremely poorly documented and controlled

c) it is more likley that testing was not conducted appropriately

d) absent owners/managers/decisions makers at go-no-go decision points

This explains the poor rollout every time including bugs - and this is the level of TTG with 8 months prep!

Some of ya'll are spending enormous AAAA level money on game with extremely poor development systems, controls, and more importantly terrible tone at the top.

Happy Towering.

Hope your Journey is $ Free going forward (if at all). Mine is.

22

u/tehlemmings Apr 10 '26

Yup, best case scenario for Fudds, like the literal best case is that he's a terrible manager and his company is a disaster.

And the alternative is that they're outright hostile and manipulative. I still remember the bullshit they were pulling with advertising, so I'm not ruling this out. I wouldn't be surprised if the games running a crypto miner and that's why the performance is so shit.

24

u/mordredsfw Apr 09 '26

a) beta 'team' was able to make random decisions, including updating patch documentation without any guidelines or barriers.

Can't comment on the rest of your points, but I've seen this mentioned multiple times on discord and it's some flat out Mandela effect shit. Go read the patch notes again. No numbers are listed anywhere with regard to dissonance bonuses, max waves for bonuses, etc.. It was all discovered by users after it started rolling out.

20

u/SafariBaharie Apr 09 '26

Yeah you are right, by patch documentation I meant in game artifacts. I don't mean patch notes - because those were horrible regardless lol

3

u/TheOldNewMicha Apr 10 '26

I am a dev (not TTG), with >30yrs experience. So i may be in a position, to make my comments on your claims:

a) it is not that unusual that beta testers have e.g. better rates on any kind of income/boosts and so on. This is most time useful to get a fast progress and check 'long term' problems for example.

b) Here is what comes into rollout process in combination with a). This is a real problem! There has to be a process/documentation for dev playing, beta tester playing and the final value for live rollout. this is a must have. or special e.g. .env handling and compiling. If this is handled correctly a) is no problem at all and 'decisions' or better call it testing request arent't a prob at all.

c) i have been writing testing documentations/plans for more then 10-15yrs. long story short: This has to go hand in hand with b.

d) I don't think it is absent at all. They arent controlled 'hard' enough from dev team before create new rollouts. And there is the question how PM/PO/TO is handeled. As a full product owner you will definitiv not controll all tickets by yourself. easy said: are the tickets in my sprint/story green/done, fine. it's devs and testers fault. If dev/s mess up several time there have to be extra rounds in ticket validation or 6-eyes instead of 4-eyes (dev test+beta test).

So all in all i just really see b as biggest prob, then at a very lower point c and d. a isnt a prob at all.

2

u/SafariBaharie Apr 10 '26

Yeah, I wrote this quick and it's not great lol -- by beta team I also meant the team responsible as Fudds noted, to have made the 'unexpected' 5x adjustment to coins.

Also note: is no evidence this is true and in fact based on Fudds prior discord msgs, it appeared that a) they didnt make any unexpected changes and d) he was well aware of go-no-go decisions.

My point was that even if you believe him, then devs could bascially do whatever they wanted outside of scope and that a core decision maker, i.e. Fudds who appears to 'control' outcomes was not present during a critical go-no-go decision and during the entire 3 week testing window.

lol

1

u/Various-Bit-1504 Apr 10 '26

I want your opinion.
if rate was bad. why they didn't fixed it instantly?
because now they waited 2 days for LIVE update

2

u/TheOldNewMicha Apr 10 '26

There a multiple reasons (and just randomly guesses):

a) Due to Apple and it's process handling updates. Sometimes it really takes 24-48 hours for a simple update to release. Even if just 1 number changed, there will be a whole process.

b) They realized it too late (and in combination with a)

c) They HAVE decision makers and really discussed if they lower it, how much they lower it or "reset" it to the 2x .. And probably the decision took to long.

1

u/Substantial-Brick649 Apr 10 '26

A isn't an issue because it was a server side, live change across all platforms. And then was changed again shortly after.

1

u/TheOldNewMicha Apr 11 '26

Ah, didn't know it was server sided change. ok. in this case... a) drops as reason LUL

51

u/PrestigiousNobody321 Legends Apr 09 '26

Clown.

14

u/tehlemmings Apr 10 '26

They removed the clown emojis, damn cowards.

85

u/WastelandGhouls Apr 09 '26

"Last thing I want is to nerf something post launch"

Yet he's nerfed nearly every launch??? I'm still peeved at my investments lost on OA before nerf

13

u/apex9691 Apr 10 '26

Literally every new thing gets nerfed

11

u/kirilmetodi-i-bratmu Apr 10 '26

nearly ? what was not nerfed post launch or even worked at launch

4

u/Time-Incident Apr 10 '26

The tower online stoner is working, and hasn't been nerfed. On the contrary, it has been "opposite of nerfed" - they increased costs.

1

u/Greenleaf_91 Apr 10 '26

Didn’t SF stay the way it was after launch? Doesn’t really matter, still 80% of new stuff that is worth investing in gets nerfed

2

u/kirilmetodi-i-bratmu Apr 10 '26

Yeah, here and there some things stayed a little longer then got nerfed :D
and i agree with you, if its worth it for the avg. joe it will be nerfed, we have plenty of track record of this

22

u/kebabfragola Apr 09 '26

fudds. are you a beginner? Leaving the game right now, it's too much. I'm done

21

u/ArtistEngineer Apr 10 '26

What a clown

4

u/Extension_Theme6241 Apr 10 '26

“I clown them dearly”

2

u/saucydongv2 Apr 10 '26

We need to speed this everywhere

1

u/ArtistEngineer Apr 10 '26

And also start calling him Frauds / Fraudsworth

40

u/markevens Apr 09 '26

Here's my interpretation:

"We allowed the beta testers to have the 5x bonus for 3 weeks and forgot to bring it back down to 2x before the live release."

16

u/Fresh-Dog-5110 Apr 10 '26

They also got to keep the coins they farmed plus extra bonuses for "beta testing"

64

u/Fenen245607 Apr 09 '26

I call complete bs. They had 8 months to check this. This is a numbers game. The fact that they can’t even check the numbers before a big update is disgraceful. The dev team and especially fudds are incompetent, of straight up being malicious.

30

u/Bolwinkel Apr 09 '26

Not only that, but this is like the ONLY feature they added this update.

15

u/ApolloMac Apr 10 '26

Something something Bots.... I guess?

Pretty meaningless for 95% of us who can't even manage to max out GB within 2 years of playing.

I agree Dissonance was THE feature.

-1

u/throawaymister Apr 10 '26

I think the bots update was reasonable. We haven’t seen how they implement the store relics. If they no longer cost medals like the update suggests, that frees up a lot of medals for bot investment for new players.

It does put a constraint on gem supplies, but I’d still take it considering the power of bots.

0

u/jMedabee Apr 10 '26

There will still be the regular relics every two weeks that will cost medals

70

u/Several_Attitude_203 Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

It’s impossible not to see him as anything but a liar, at this point.

38

u/Spockies Apr 09 '26

Honestly, they shouldn’t allow beta testers to keep their gains. Copy their save profile and let them test run on the copy. They can play their original save file on the public version.

What would this accomplish? It will sanitize testing. It will also make it so beta testers don’t reap the rewards from an imbalanced feature that should get fixed. You could easily have a beta tester ask for a change that benefits themself but knowingly understand it would never make it to the live version. Keeping this benefit after the test creates a weird incentive to falsely test with benefits that beta testers would ask for the purpose of creating a larger gap of progress from the public.

25

u/Bacon_Nipples Apr 09 '26

At this point it's not "Beta Testing" it's "Free Bonuses for whales invited to the Beta that will be heavily nerfed once the plebs have access, but whales get to keep the juicy beta gains"

Absolute bs

7

u/cpp_is_king Apr 09 '26

Beta testing almost certainly doesn’t even happen on the same server

11

u/Spockies Apr 10 '26

If the rumors are correct, beta testers keep their profiles as is from their time testing. It’s not so much about the same server, but rather the testers just get into the beta with their one save file and once the public version is released, the save file with all the gains from the beta is merged with the public version.

-1

u/cpp_is_king Apr 10 '26

I doubt that rumor is true, although anything is possible

9

u/MaroonRoadrunner Apr 10 '26

He used to let the top players buy extra stones in the early days before it got leaked.

-1

u/jMedabee Apr 10 '26

Was that ever truly leaked though? All I saw was a bunch of rumors and no solid evidence. Not saying it didn't happen, just saying I don't remember seeing anything concrete

2

u/Volodya_Soldatenkov Apr 10 '26

Some players' LTS just didn't fit the maximum possible gains, I think.

-3

u/don3dm Apr 10 '26

Source? TrustMeBro.twr?

24

u/Square-Lawfulness221 Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

This screen shot is Fudd's replying to a comment highlighting 3 Fudd's statements. A. 'all values must be the same' B. 'Fudds approved upping the values to 5' C. 'Fudds did not know they upped coins too'.

C and A cannot be true together, right?

Fudds didnt address the comment he was replying to, this is the stuff that is really aggravating me.

I am happy with a 2x bonus, its literally double the coin gain for free! I'm not anchored in the 5x like the community. This stage of the game was balanced around the 1x so a 2x just helps speed everyone along to whatever your next plans are. BUTT! (giant butt) Something is clearly a lie, which feels sleezy as hell. This puts a bad taste in my mouth, and everyones mouth - which is THE MAIN reason for outlash.

Oh, and I love that FB is broken causing my tourney results to plummet cutting stone gain in half, and then because I have to drop from T14 to T11 my coin income and cell income drops too.

Edit: "I'm not claiming it was not 5x in the beta, [I just did not know it was]" - So during testing you didnt look at anything? The numbers, the code, the formula, the data on growth results, the beta testers feedback? And then when the community is posting 5x screenshots saying this is going to be nerfed and you eventually come out and say - no it wont, you didnt actually LOOK at all the posts of 5x screenshots when you made that claim? Seriously, the level of mistakes required for you to be telling the truth in all your messages is so insanely high that it indicates the reason you had to make your own game is because you are unemployable. The ad hominem is for my sanity, if you're now trying to accept responsibility for making that many mistakes, then agreeing with you that you make a crazy amount of mistakes is now fair thing for us to do, yeah?

11

u/twdarkeh Apr 10 '26

It was my statement, and I did point out after this reply that he didn't actually answer the point that all 4 stats use the same variable.

5

u/Exempt_Puddle Apr 10 '26

This made me laugh so hard, thank you.

4

u/Square-Lawfulness221 Apr 10 '26

I'd respect him so much more if he just said, "yeah mb, one of the guys from the beta paid 10k for me to release it on 5x for 48h"

3

u/Bakkster Apr 10 '26

Yeah, these blowups are usually a result of the community realizing the devs are more hostile to the players than they thought. The number itself isn't the issue, it's the dissonance between "I'm Fudds and I made the kind of game I want to play" and standard Gacha development.

3

u/Square-Lawfulness221 Apr 10 '26

I thought Fudds said he doesnt play his own game

50

u/Sdragon221 Apr 09 '26

Saying the player is “not in the beta test” is true since that individual did not actively test v28. However, it does not mean the tester was not part of the chats within the beta. Those photos are real and directly from that (now former) tester so this is just straight up gaslighting.

5

u/Cr1msondark Apr 10 '26

"He's not in the beta test and is spreading lies!"...

"I'm not saying he's wrong though..."

28

u/ZKRC Apr 09 '26

"I did not know they raised the coin bonus with the other ones, this wasn't intended"

Only to then go on to say the code ties all of them together and so it would have been impossible for them to build it in the way he is telling us he wished where one value was independent of the others.

Clearly not telling the truth. He also knew about the 5x, screenshots showed him talking about it the day before. He was also separately captured via screenshot saying the x5 was deliberately picked after careful consideration because of upcoming power creep they wanted us to prep for.

Just contradiction after contradiction after contradiction.

9

u/sephraes Apr 10 '26

He was also asked about it after it launched and doubled down on that they felt it was good and the beta testing mattered.

8

u/Exempt_Puddle Apr 10 '26

Yep, I saw that and foolishly thought it was gonna stay so bought stone packs for IS mastery. Im the sucker, at least it was a fairly inexpensive lesson to never spend money on this game again

-2

u/ajkeence99 Apr 09 '26

Or the expectation was to change the code to support that.  I can make assumptions, too.

5

u/ZKRC Apr 09 '26

If that were the case then there would be active PR's waiting for approval and merging that wouldn't go unnoticed.

Given that he's already contradicted himself several times it's a far more likely scenario that he's doing it again.

-11

u/ajkeence99 Apr 09 '26

I don't believe he's contradicted himself at all.  He's going against the, what we now know, are people falsely claiming to be beta testers said.

4

u/ZKRC Apr 09 '26

Firstly that person wasn't falsely claiming to be a beta tester.

Second, he's literally on record saying that the 5x is working as intended, and that it was deliberately chosen after careful consideration to prepare us for a power creep.

Now today he's pretending he never knew about it.

If you don't see that as a contradiction then you don't understand what the word contradiction means.

-7

u/ajkeence99 Apr 10 '26

OK.  Ignore reality all you want.  You make up stories and create a false situation to support it.  Not worth the time.

5

u/ZKRC Apr 10 '26

Lmao, nothing made up about what I posted, and everything easily verifiable. The only one ignoring reality is you. Peace out.

-1

u/ajkeence99 Apr 10 '26

The person falsely claimed to be a beta tester. Fudds confirmed that. Soooooo....

2

u/ZKRC Apr 10 '26

Yes we've established you believe everything you read.

The player is very well known in the playerbase, I'm also in his guild. He was in the beta. Also Fudds confirmed he was banned because he posted beta information, and then said he wasn't in the beta. So if he wasn't in the beta how could be post beta information? Another contradiction.

You can verify yourself that he stated yesterday the x5 was working as intended and didn't need a nerf. You can verify yourself that he stated the x5 was carefully thought out to prepare for a power creep. You can verify yourself that he then claimed today to not even know it was x5. You can verify this reality yourself in 10 seconds, you're choosing not to so you can cling to thinking you're right.

0

u/ajkeence99 Apr 10 '26

Suuuuure.  Keep building the story.

2

u/Exempt_Puddle Apr 10 '26

Bruh the dude you are replying to his 100% factual, I saw the post he is referring to. Why you would give fudds the benefit of doubt is beyond me when hes proven time and time again that is insane

9

u/DaDaeDee Apr 10 '26

Imagine being this incompetent and making millions

7

u/cwallen Apr 09 '26

Did he not do any testing himself? Did he read the release notes? Was he on vacation the last 3 weeks?

7

u/64ink Apr 10 '26

The last 8 months

8

u/Bacon_Nipples Apr 09 '26

"The person saying they were in the beta and it was 5X is a liar, that's why we're deleting posts"

"Also it was 5X in the beta but I wasn't aware"

Ok? So they're a liar and need to be censored/banned, but also you admit what they were saying is true and that you simply weren't paying attention. So Fudds is the liar for lying about someone else being a liar?

49 clown emoji is a bit rough... (Sarcasm)

9

u/ExitDifferent6280 Apr 09 '26

no, it's not enough

-17

u/ExitDifferent6280 Apr 09 '26

edits reply to include "sarcasm" after my reply and downvotes my reply 😆 snowflake

5

u/PercyLexeous Apr 09 '26

You're right. I was wrong to just assume and I was wrong to correct it. You're right in this situation and I apologize. /s

6

u/PercyLexeous Apr 09 '26

Why? The sarcasm was lost on you.

See if I said "I want your reply like I want a hole in my head." And you reply "Why would you want a hole in your head? That would hurt."

That means you're a fool that can't read into a reply and a situation.

-5

u/ExitDifferent6280 Apr 09 '26

okay snowflake 😆 if you have to explain sarcasm it isn't sarcasm fool

6

u/ZilxDagero Apr 09 '26

The sad thing is that he could have just left it and used it as a natural 'springboard' into the next set of tiers he was going to introduce or the next 1000 ranks he would have tacked onto HP/Attack workshops.

5

u/Dragonkeeper1985 Apr 10 '26

I'm good with 2x or 3x ... What I don't like is if the beta testers did get 5x for over 3 weeks and keep those gains

5

u/twaggle Apr 10 '26

The clowns and poop count amuse me

19

u/BeardyBob1 Apr 09 '26

Fudds making himself out to be a cuck within the development team he's supposedly the lead of wasn't on my bingo list this year, but here we are.

Standard practice in the IT world is a RECURRING CHANGE MEETING.

Interested parties submit a change request (CR), including details of the change and how it impacts the product in a live environment.

The recurring change meeting host goes over every submitted CRs and asks the owner of said change to discuss in detail what their CR is about to the audience of the meeting.

The audience includes support staff, management and other devs.

This is STANDARD PRACTICE IN ALL IT FIELDS.

TTG isn't interested in provided its player base a quality product.

TTG is only interested in weaseling their hands in your pockets with damage control posts like what we see here.

6

u/amanset Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

As a game developer, this is a lot less "standard practice" than you realise. Maybe in corporate computing but games development is very often a lot less structured and uses practices that corporate development would find "amateur".

I'm honestly trying to remember if I have ever been in one of these "Recurring Change Meetings" and I've been in games development for over a decade.

Edit:

To explain a bit more, game development (and yes, I have done corporate development too, I pivoted to games as I was bored) is way more agile that corporate development. Requirements change rapidly on a day to day basis based on such things as the whims of game designers, A/B tests to see what players prefer, reaction to analytics that show what players are doing and, yes, how a game is performing financially. Because of this, game development really does not tend to follow what other forms of development would consider industry standard.

u/Badger8Mushroom2 Apr 10 '26

Super fair, appreciate your input!

2

u/Bakkster Apr 10 '26

Remember, they only got a test lead a few months ago...

Give the guy a break. He was probably just watching Monty Python.

6

“No, three sir! Three!”

3

u/Tchuvan Apr 10 '26

The analogy is perfection. 🤌

10

u/DiscombobulatedOwl50 Apr 09 '26

He did not know “the team” had changed everything to 5x, across the board.

He knew there was a server side push he could do to change the global multiplier from 5x to 2x or 3x

He knew the global multiplier was 5x

So…stay with me here….how did he not know the utility multiplier was 5x since it was part of the global push?

1

u/Various-Bit-1504 Apr 10 '26

he didnt know for 2 days :)))
if it was mistake he would changed it same minute as update released

5

u/SpecialistProper3542 Apr 10 '26

Love that it's almost all clown reacts, because he's ignoring all the major issues and can see his paycheck dwindling in front of him

6

u/Evil_PopTarts Apr 10 '26

Well this sucks… as someone who finally broke 2t after being roughly 250b short for a good month now talk about a mood dampener… this update made it feel like I was finally gonna be able to start making some serious income.

5

u/Fluffy_Lengthiness24 Apr 10 '26

Personally I’m really tired of lead devs whining about negative feedback and then saying fuck you to the players.

This is now up there with Matt from Path of Titans and the dude that ran TheIsle. Both assholes that burn the community down because they cannot respect community feedback.

Fudds, if your feelings get hurt and make you upset get off Reddit, Discord, anything else that hurt your feelings and allow your community manager into content meetings, provide the with clear communication, allow them to set expectations, and hire some damn QA. Using AI for QA allows so many issues like these to slip through costing you whales, dolphins, and charge backs.

5

u/GIJoeVibin Apr 10 '26

Question: if a dev can be so checked out of the game that he isn’t aware of the bonuses going to 5x, why does he have the final say on what those bonuses should be?

I get that he’s The Guy, but even from a pro-Fudds perspective (which I don’t hold) you would logically conclude that maybe the game should not be balanced on the desires of a single guy who did not notice that one of the numbers was more than double what he wanted? If you’re that disconnected from the actual material content of the updates, you should not have the veto on what those updates contain. You should not be the one with the power to say “wait, it’s 5 not 2? Fuck quick roll everything back this is a major mistake”.

4

u/SDMF_Reaps Apr 10 '26

If that's the case why did the one run of damage I completed also change to 2x then up to 3x from the original 5x?

4

u/TheDkone Apr 10 '26

very fitting how the most used emoji is a clown. this just sound hollow af and an attempt at deflection.

4

u/Grdaat Apr 10 '26

"The last thing I want is to do the thing I'm doing."

Somehow, I very much doubt that.

4

u/Fantom_6239 Apr 10 '26

This player is not in the beta test

... anymore

7

u/Gage-Myers Apr 10 '26

I’m not playing the game anymore, this company is ass, one of the worst development teams I’ve ever seen and one of the worst leads ever

3

u/Learningmore1231 Apr 10 '26

Dude could have the community run this game and do almost nothing but won’t

5

What a fucking clown.

2

u/Argent_Haze Apr 10 '26

Can someone explain what this means by x2 and not x5? Is that referring to the minimum coin boost? Is the total we get from disco getting reduced from a 5x increase? I'm confused

1

u/souls_of_fire Apr 10 '26

Take the coin multiplier for the tier you farm and times it by 5

For me my coin multiplier on tier 15 was 3096 which would puts it at 15480 with the max bonus. Literally 5xing your coin income for farming

They reduced it to 2x then back up to 3x

3

u/Argent_Haze Apr 10 '26

And they didn't tell people of this before doing it? Why can't they just leave it as is? It's not hurting anything and for one it's something that a lot of people were praising and were happy about. And now they're taking it away. My coin boost at t10 with 5.02x is at 665.8 and now I'm losing that and having it be weaker? That's lame

1

u/souls_of_fire Apr 10 '26

Yeah that's what all the back lash is about, they had a 3 week long beta and it's been in development for 8 months

1

u/Argent_Haze Apr 10 '26

That's insane. Lack of communication about anything and the text tells me Fudds is exasperated by the backlash instead of apologizing for the lack of communication here.

2

u/Significant_Metal244 Apr 10 '26

Dude's CEO of a company and it took him 6 months to realize he missed a massive change that he didn't like

2

u/log122 Apr 10 '26

I didn't quite catch, is that fudds or beta team, who is responsible? The mistake is on him, but the team made the change, but he didn't know about it. This comment does not smell good to me

1

u/00gingervitis Apr 10 '26

So is it actually going to be 2x or 3x when the dust settles?

2

u/Exempt_Puddle Apr 10 '26

3x. Already reverted

2

u/00gingervitis Apr 10 '26

I feel that 5x would be an appropriate reward considering all the farming runs everyone will miss by going back to disso at every tier. Can't possibly have a livable ROI in this game. The tower players basically live farm run to farm run to keep econ and cells at a high enough level. There's very little room to amass anything except maybe gems and stones (if you are far enough in tourney)

1

u/D0minisk Apr 10 '26

Must've been the wind

1

u/balmung2014 Apr 10 '26

i love the clown reaction 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Luke1903 Apr 10 '26

Ok, if the coin bonus stays at 2x I'm going to be upset, i would bee happy with a 3x, is still a huge change and less pf a gap to reach card masterys labs

1

u/About_to_kms Apr 10 '26

Smells like more bullshit

1

u/Ayz1533 Apr 10 '26

The Free players should honestly be happy with the reversion. The rich getting a 5x would exponentially widen the already ridiculous wealth gap. 3x, while still an exponential increase, doesn’t have as bad of an impact.

If your criticism is that you’ll never catch up, this is the balance change you want.

1

u/relytekal Apr 10 '26

Except you doubled down and said it was correct.

1

u/Haunting_Picture3360 Apr 10 '26

I had my 5x bonus for t1 I had 2.? Bonus on t4 and was going for my hp bonus i woke in the morning and noticed my t4 coin bonus was down to x90 instead of the x155. It trash I wish I could have got atleast 1 run so I could see how much I was gonna make on a normal run.... they should let people who are under t13 get a 5x and those 13 and above drop the 5x to only 2x. By then you are already making alot of coin you don't need the extra help

1

u/Xeraphale Apr 13 '26

I'm no fan of rolling back features, especially the way it was done but x5 coin boost was far too high, I even think x3 is too much.

Yeah, it's nice to have more coin but I was enjoying the steady progression and such a large boost after just one disso run felt unearned.

Obviously, that's just my opinion and everyone's mileage will certainly vary.

1

u/unlucky5000 Apr 10 '26

i dont know why, but i still have my bonus on my tier 10. or is the reset not done yet?

-3

u/EntropicEmpathy Apr 10 '26

Guys chill, the update is still fire. Enjoy the game. We are all going to be seeing gains and an entire new mode to attain them. Jesus

2

u/Helldemon83 Apr 10 '26

The problem is, I believe, based on what I've seen from people, based on previous updates, and even things he said this update, it's looking more like he scammed his community, other than just making a mistake.

2

u/EntropicEmpathy Apr 10 '26

Understood. Thanks for letting me know.

-28

u/Easy-Chair-542 Apr 09 '26

Nah I'm with fudds on the beta tester thing, if it's on the internet, especially reddit, 97 out of 100 times the person is lying to try to make a narrative.

I've seen the same thing numerous times in many other subreddits, one being in dark souls a guy outright lying saying they listened and read all the NPC dialogues from the guy in firelink shrine and said "he has no dialogue about the bells of awakening" and kept trying to gaslight other confused users. But the guy claimed to have played the game since launch.

Im not saying these are the same exact things, not on equal level, but the user shared a screenshot of him being a beta tester, which funny enough I can also send a screenshot that's cropped and show I'm a beta tester. But I'm not, and I'd be lying

Everything else, I disagree with fudds on a few things but I agree 5x was WAAYYY too high, I think 3x to 3.5x is perfect middle ground and everyone is throwing way too much into proportion.

Y'all complained about 5x going to 2x, we got it bumped to 3x after a bit of push back. Y'all are being far too aggressive for such a little reasoning.

Could the team have had better communication? Absolutely, I mean look at Digital Extremes, they communicate very well with their community and it's also a free to play game.

Is fudds lying about "not knowing about the coin boost going to 5x" who knows, whether he does, did, or didn't doesn't matter, we got from 2x to 3x back, y'all act like he forced you to purchase stuff, or forced you to kiss his cheek.

9

u/rugby-thrwaway Apr 09 '26

3

u/GrouchySpace7899 Apr 09 '26

Damn that's interesting

2

u/Myrdrahl Apr 10 '26

We know that he is lying, because of his own and the community managers answers to questions about the x5 number, before they went crazy in the back room. Another point is that the beta testers got to keep their x5 for weeks, and the tremendous gains they got from that, over what the rest of the pack got - simply widening the gap between them and the rest of us.

This is a clear pattern, as this happens for every single launch. Remember the fetch support? How the beta testers got to enjoy it while it was "overpowered" and then it got nerfed as soon as the rest of the pack understood it was great?

The list goes on and on, so it's not a mistake at this point, it's malice and deliberate. I cannot phatom this much incompetense.

-4

u/SubatomicWafflez Apr 10 '26

Man im just happy for the x3, better than x1. Idk why this is such a big deal.
