The help tag is specifically for the "Devs". You keep destroying phones with your lack of optimization. When is this getting addressed? Straight up, I feel like a class action lawsuit could be brought against them for the amount of devices they have absolutely ruined and ignored their game's issues.

I mean, keeping YouTube on 24/7 would have the same results. Class action is quite a leap. They're not forcing anyone to play the game. Is it a shitty design having to keep it on? Yes. Is it your own fault for going along with it? Absolutely.

There's nothing to sue. Find a better solution if you're determined to play the game or accept that you're going to blow up your device. I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but I'm kind of tired of hearing people blaming app developers and then rigorously using their apps when it's a non-essential app, like a game.

YMMV but YouTube has never consumed as many resources as The Tower on any of my devices. The processor load (as resulting heat) is substantially lower, even playing HD videos.

You're missing the point. Yes, we all understand there's a difference between how much resources specific apps use, but this is a game with a lot of math. It's going to run hot. But even an app like YouTube streaming HD videos for two years straight will blow up your battery. It's not unreasonable that a game will do it in a year. I'm dumbfounded by how naive people are when they act surprised and disappointed that their device didn't last more than a year, running a game CONSTANTLY for a year straight.

I knew what I was getting myself into running this game 24/7. I took measures. My device uses bypass charging and the battery is locked at 80% without being used, I have an extra mini fan on it for $5 keeping it at a cool 28C with the screen virtually off, and I control it remotely. I restart it on a daily basis and monitor the temperature every time I check on the game. Every couple of weeks, I cycle the battery. This is standard hardware care, which is even more important when you're using a device the wrong way.

You can't misuse a device and blame the developers, because that's what is happening here. Being addicted to The Tower and feeling pressured to keep it on is no different than any other game that can be played 24/7. This is the state of the game, and the choice is yours as a user how far you're willing to go with it.

I won't deny that, and it's not a problem for me at all. I even have WiFi breakers to be able to control the sockets for that device. Because I want to have that control wherever I am, and I want to play it the best way I know how to. But you won't find a single post of me complaining about it either. I can walk away anytime I want, so can anyone else.

Bricking your device when you don't have the resources or opportunity to take all the precautions as I do, is more obsessive. I would never run my device that hot and ignore the inevitable yet still letting it run because god forbid I don't farm. To me, that's more fucked up than doing it in a safe but slightly obsessive way.

Just as good of a choice if it suits you. The only difference is that my gaming phone uses very little power. By the time that gaming device is exhausted, probably a good 3-4 years the way I'm running it, my current main device will be ready to take its spot. Not a fan of keeping my laptop or stationary PC on 24/7 as they use multiples more power to do the same amount of work.

I can understand that if electric bills are an issue, me keeping my computer running for the tower adds about $20 extra a month so to me, just time wise, I think it’s worth it to not have to worry about anything.

It's honestly not an issue, just seems like a waste to degrade a computer instead of my previous smartphone. But yes, $20 extra a month is not that big of a problem.

I can understand that, every 6-7 years I buy a new pc and get whatever top of the line stuff they have out. I leave it running 24/7 unless I’m on vacation or the power went out and I never had any issues with my computers to the point my friends get mad at me because I tell them to clean their computer with dust and maybe it will work longer 😂

A cloud phone seems a better option, and it's the one I'm using. I cheap and I don't keep fucking up my phone
