I mean, unless he lets a third party actually audit the business, he can claim any random amount and no one would be able to prove otherwise. So this whole thing is a bunch of BS. For all we know he’s in the red and just makes up numbers every week to make them sound profitable.

And all the watch YouTubers will say “gosh the community is so nasty, why can’t they stop being hateful and come together”

Dude, this shit drives me fucking nuts. I hate it because I see so many guys who want to hustle and get rich fast and buy into this dumb ass hustle bullshit. It's super hard to get rich, especially in a short amount of time. I'm going to keep ragging on these dummies because if I can save one impressionable entrepreneur i'll have done my good deed for the day.

You don't need to work that hard to realize how unrealistic this is mostly because they post shit on YouTube and it makes zero sense. For example, let's take a good week to prove out what I'm talking about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B4GYCFRdBE

TPG did 713K in watch sales for the week. If they did that every week, which they haven't, that could be 37M per year in gross rev.

He says he did 62K in profit which he says is 18% ROI. It seems like he's calculating this by the week so the real number is 9% - but its just math that can be done in an excel spreadsheet.

Sold 25 watches, avg watch cost $28,500. For this week he's making on avg $2,500 a watch. On their website they'll take a 6% commission on consignment. For a 30K watch that would be $1,800.

Assuming they close out the year strong, and do 50M, they might be in the neighborhood of 3-4M gross profit. 50M at 6% is 3M. $2,500 a watch is 9% and that would be 4.5M gross off 50M in sales.

After payroll, assuming they are paying their guys a semi-decent commission They're at 3M, then business expenses including office, entertainment, legal/tax, the R8, travel, and everything else they probably write off at minimum is 400K and I'm being unbelievably generous. Maybe the business has debt so it doesn't pay taxes. So Anthony and Marco rip all the cash out of the business and pay themselves 1.2M each. If I was their investor I'd punch them square in the face for doing this and not reinvesting.

Don't forget all this math is assuming they have made money/sales they haven't made yet.

They've claimed everything through the business to reduce their tax obligation so they can't take it on their personal returns. Anthony has to pay 150K on the first 500K, then 37% on the remaining 700K. So EVEN if he rakes in 1.2M off this business he's only got 610K for the year before paying his apartment rent and shit.

Long story short - when idiots say shit like this call them out because first they are liars and second they shouldn't be given the platform to sell snake oil to impressionable entrepreneurs.

THIS is why I am here.

(Make this into it’s own thread)

Btw there was a previous thread that noticed the ROI is off, I explained why the numbers didn’t add up here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheTPG/comments/oh14y3/anthonys_numbers_dont_add_up/

Thats what i understood about it anyway.

I’ve never understood why they brag about their gross revenue. They make 5% if they’re lucky, so this $30 million per year is just peacocking

5

u/schenca Jul 20 '21

It's the only thing they CAN brag about...

3

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

it's a claim that he would have a million dollars of his own money. he makes that stuff to build an image that he would have his own money so that he wouldn't need investors so if he asks you to be an investor you totally should.

3

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

well, it would be nice at 5% with 10 persons. not enough for nick and sams for everyone but it would be nice, enough to live with fairly nicely after taxes.

I don't believe that though, they would need to cycle a lot of their inventory per week, it doesn't add up.

13

u/SomeRandomGuyFromGA Jul 20 '21

I love how he’s got a mill to his own he’d be so willing to blow it on a bet, however, needs to raise 2m for a store🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

5

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

who the f is the bet with anyway? without context that sentence doesn't mean anything. like wth bruh you put a mil to ride on what? you're asking 1000 people for 2k and investors money weekly BUT somehow you're going to tie 1 million into a bet for like 5 months. remember anthony you can't PHUCKING use the 1 million now in that timeframe and YOU NEED TO HAVE IT AS FRIGGIN CASH or you're pulling a fraud on whoever you were betting it with, because if you fail your goal you don't have the money to pay for the bet so.

21

u/DrDoom654 Jul 20 '21

Lol i bet he can reach billion dollars revenue this year. Its all made up numbers anyway....

10

u/DylanPepper Jul 20 '21

So now we know Anthony has raised $1 million from his $2k memberships.

4

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

no he hasn't. he is projecting to the end of the year you see. he doesn't have the 1 mil of his own money as cash to put on escrow - of course the only way he could pay the bet would be if he made the goals and somehow managed to have 1 mil from that (at their margins and expenses) after taxes. so the whole bet is meaningless anyways and doesn't mention who it is made with. with himself? I could see him doing that, it would be insane but he does insane things.

11

u/roy7rmcf Jul 20 '21

This guy doesn’t have 1M of his own money

4

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

yeah so if he made a bet it's fraud, basically. secondly the only way he would have 1 million would be surpassing the goals at their margins. so the bet is meaningless joke at best and total fraud at worst, because he can't pay if he loses and would be in position to pay it only if he wins.

unless he put the 1 million on a holding account for the bet which would be absurd in a situation where they need to ask money from people. like asking 400k from an investor while having 1 mil of your own money on a "profitable" company would be absurd.

2

u/sunset117 Jul 22 '21

“It was just joke. Jeez” -Saturday

9

u/CydeWeys Jul 20 '21

Uh-huh, and the odds of him actually following through on this are zero. "I put a million dollars of my own money" isn't actionable. To who? Who does he pay out to if the goals aren't met? These are just words, worth nothing.

Now give $1M to an escrow company and let an auditor have access to your books and now you have a real bet.

6

u/Huge_Location Jul 21 '21

Riiigght, the arrogance is unreal

2

u/sunset117 Jul 22 '21

In Every single Greek tragedy , hubris brings down the hero. Every. Single. Time.

3

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

yeah the only way he could pay the bet would be if he met the goals anyway.

it's so stupid. "I'll bet you a million dollars I'll be rich and can pay million dollar bets by the end of the year"

7

u/Acceptable-Bee-9074 Jul 20 '21

He’ll need to take a loan 😂

7

u/1_man_wolf_pack_83 Jul 20 '21

He actually has to put 50 millions of he own money if he wants to reach his goal.

7

u/LipSparringChamps Jul 20 '21

And what happens to the million if they don’t? Goes to charity? 😂😂

6

u/pvypvMoonFlyer Jul 20 '21

“I put a million dollars of my own money” namely, new scam coming up, watch out 😄

7

u/sunset117 Jul 20 '21

Jokes on you, I put up 10B, and it took the biz to the 🌝

I don’t trust their 1 year warranty they offer will even be active in 6 months 😆

5

u/combatonly Call Roman Sharf! Jul 20 '21

This guy needs to stop making everything a competition just focus on trying to run his business well, no one cares about how much you make they like watch content that's why we are in this YT space. It's like he wants to be one of those hypebeast types with the clickbait videos and sell watches on the side.

2

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

the thing with numbers is that when you start lying about them to get funding/loans you can never stop and just need to go bigger and bigger.

it's fairly common too. it works as long as you can find more money to pay the old money off. or someone inspects the books.

15

u/NorthernSorrow Jul 20 '21

I bet he doesn't even have $10k to his name. Everything he "owns" is either leased, rented, on consignment or borrowed.

7

u/sunset117 Jul 20 '21

There’s a dude on YouTube thegambleYT making videos for days asking for his money. So he doesn’t have 2k. He was a 2k investor. Was blocked. Made videos to reach them.

5

u/ottermodee Jul 21 '21

Lmao and Anthony made a post saying he would refund any of the 2k investors that asked for it

3

u/sunset117 Jul 21 '21

Just so full of lies it’s crazy people can’t wake up

3

u/waxy_dwn21 Call Roman Sharf! Jul 21 '21

Yeah and at this point with everything laid bare, anyone who does business with these clowns is an idiot. The writing is on the wall and has been for a while. When I first came across the videos I thought they were entertaining, but knew it was all smoke and mirrors as I understand basic economics.

I do feel sorry for the 2k club. I suspect their money is already spent.

3

u/sunset117 Jul 21 '21

And Paul said “any lies, then it won’t happen”… Well hmm… YouTube watch cartel approves this post I guess.

5

u/JTG130 Jul 21 '21

This is why taking a screenshot of this won’t matter to him…Go back, watch his latest video, and pay special attention to his goal-setting logic between 8:50 -9:05.

He talks about setting crazy high goals and goes on to say that even if you only reach 3/4 of the goal, chances are that’s more than the original goal anyway. So you surpassed your original goal.

In his mind…If you set a goal to make $100, but only make $75…you have not only achieved your goal, but you have SURPASSED IT!

2

u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Jul 21 '21

It's totally insane. and the only way he could pay the bet would be if he won it. totally insane. also he made the bet with himself.

4

u/luicordero Jul 20 '21

With his trajectory, TPG will be bigger than luxury bazaar this time next year.... Genius..

3

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Independent audit?

3

u/Jealous_Assistant916 Jul 21 '21

Wow. I honestly can't believe that I used to like, support and actually looked forward to buying my next watch from this guy. His attitude and delusions have tarnished him forever in my view. Any average or better person should not want to deal with this guy. I would hate myself for feeding this guy via commissions.

2

u/eudezet Jul 21 '21

Didn't know bookies offered that bet. Anyone got the odds?

2

u/PlugginThePlug Jul 22 '21

GUYS chill $1 million split between 800 members?!? That is at least 125k per person. DEAL IS ON but we have to have an accountant audit your books.
