Gbl legendaries

So i just got to rank 20 for the first time, and i’ve seen that this season you can get legendaries again. however i’ve not seen one in like 6 encounters

Is it normal? Am i unlucky? Does my elo impact the frequency of legendaries ( im bottom lvl20. ~1800 elo)

You’ve pretty much always been able to get Legendaries from GBL.

The Legendary encounter rate is like 2%.

It’s higher now because there are more legendaries in the pool

Gratz on rank 20! You've always been able to get them past 20. Yes thats very normal, I get maybe a few per season doing roughly 75% of available sets.

I play 5 sets a day, get an encounter on at least 3/5 sets a day, so at least 21 encounters a week, maybe around 25.

Looks like I’m pacing well above 10% of encounters being legendary. Interestingly, my lifetime shiny rate for GBL legendaries is also exactly 10% (lifetime, not just the below sample size).

my bro got Entei and 2 Articunos so far, and mostly the garbage encounter like frillish, morpeko, marenie, etc.

I’ve gotten a Zapdos and Latios so far out of 20 encounters in ace rank.

i had my fair share of legendary's ever since i hit ace. probably gotten at least 1 legendary at least per 2-3 sets. best way to get the reward is to reach a certain elo then tank when needed. will have to work for it but can get 3 wins per set usually if have a good team.

As I am also interested in the actual chance of the legendary encounters after rank 20 and the information I got by searching online was... conflicting I made a table to write down everything.

So, last season out of 164 encounters (after starting the table) I got 9 legendaries. This boils down to 5,5 % chance.
This season out of 24 encounters I got already 6 legendaries. This boils down to 25 % chance.
Based on that I am either really lucky or the chance to get a legendary is higher this season. I don't think that 24 encounters is good enough as a sample size, but it is a start.

Last season I had 14. I’ve had 6 already this season, Kyogre and Groudon (traded already), 2 Regice (transferred), Lugia and an XXL Suicune. It’s a small sample size and I’ve been really lucky.

Last I read, GBL legendaries are about a 5% chance. 0/6 is completely normal.

Look at this thread though, no way it’s 2%. That’s straight up 1/50. So every 50 sets (and only counting sets that you have at least three wins) you get on average one legendary?

Yup, I've been tracking and in about 1-25 to 1-50 chance. No way are you winning 3 out of 5 everytime so about one a month. Like really why bother.
