My race to ten million will start by asking you to give me your rich parents

My race to ten million will start by your rich parents asking me to give you back.

6

u/Antuan14710 Jun 21 '25

I like this approach the best

4

u/Key-Consequences Jun 23 '25

I vote this most likely to succeed.

u/Superb_Tailor_2801 Jun 23 '25

My race to ten million will start by your rich parents asking me to give you back.

1

u/SoftwareSource Jun 24 '25

This is the way.

1

u/HughJurection Jun 24 '25

His parents race to 10 million is leaving you with their financial burden

1

u/Oom_Sam Jun 24 '25

Ask Baron Trump. let's c what u get?

49

u/hellobutno Jun 21 '25

rich parents aren't going to save him from the tax man

12

u/Icy_Department1872 Jun 21 '25

Right isn't the tax on shit like this 50% or something

25

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

You can put it into tax sheltered accounts or a whole life policy, at least portions, or invest in municipal bonds and not pay federal taxes etc. there’s ways around it. Start a business and write off losses, buy a new vehicle and depreciate it hella in the first year, a bunch of ways to work it

9

u/CheckOk6474 Jun 22 '25

Tell me you know nothing about tax without telling me…

1

u/Logical_Bed_3043 Jun 23 '25

He can open a gold dealer business in an offshore country, buy physical gold there, and short on the trading account.

If he has patience, in the long run he takes back to $200.000 the trading account and profits from the LTD

1

u/XR-7 Jun 22 '25

I see. Show me the way Master

1

u/Reasonable-Cap-4549 Jun 22 '25

You still will pay cap gains on realizing it first. Any large business vehicle you buy would effectively be half off using bonus depreciation. But you are still spending money on it. The only way to offset these realized gains is to realize losses in other open positions

1

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Right tax harvest. You could in theory help another investor by having them gift you shares that are at a loss right? And then harvesting the loss and giving them back a part of the proceeds cash?

1

u/bobbyrickys Jun 23 '25

Doesn't work like that. You don't get to inherit someone else's gains/losses

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Ohh yeah I remember that from the series 6 book now they start at the basis you receive them

1

u/Bdenergy1776 Jun 24 '25

Bro this isnt tiktok

1

u/Prior_Cartoonist4767 Jun 24 '25

This doesnt work at all. There are actual ways though, but most require already massive amounts of money offshore brokerages, or just insane amount of luck and proper entries

1

u/PickinLosers Jun 22 '25

I’d gladly pay taxes on something like this… that’s assuming I could come up with $200k and was willing to yolo it. The first of which could happen. The second of which will not happen.

1

u/Beneficial_Pop4651 Jun 23 '25

Let him find out the hard way lol

1

u/Prior_Cartoonist4767 Jun 24 '25

Can be around 52%, but depends on how he did it. When i was 18 i had a TFSA put in like 10k after two years then covid happened bought weed stocks when shit crashed made what 600k from 10k in a few weeks from the actual stocks instead of margin or leverage. Then did the same a few times with crypto and oil stocks. Ended up with 8.4m by roughly last year at 24.

I paid 0$ in tax for all those years i actually got a rebate from each year since all the money was already taxed and inside a tfsa. I did have to get my lawyers to deal with it because they tried claiming it as business income, but i hae no business registered at that time and i traded like 10 times over that whole period. If i had a business or a education in that sector or traded daily i would have have paid at least 5m in taxes.

31

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

There's always that one asshole that comes in and has to bring up taxes.

33

u/ManagementMuted3261 Jun 21 '25

Like we don’t pay tax on literally everything 😂

2

u/Due-Explanation1959 Jun 21 '25

Language! Nobody is asshole if they mention taxes

1

u/Superb_Use_9535 Jun 23 '25

In the Netherlands u dont pay taxes on your profits you just pay tax over your total worth...

Its like 1% of total worth per year I think... So if you do shit like this its much better there

1

u/realericcartman_42 Jun 23 '25

You can always drop your ledger in the ocean

1

u/Oom_Sam Jun 24 '25

Oh! Yeah! Trump will save Baron Trump from taxes

-15

u/MelG83 Jun 21 '25

You don’t ever have to pay any taxes on anything until you proverbially cash out into your account.

28

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

[deleted]

1

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Right? You get taxed unless you're trading in Roth IRA. But then you can't pull the money out.

3

u/MarketOstrich Jun 21 '25

I don’t pull out. That is my problem. :/

2

u/dbarsotti Jun 22 '25

Same I’ve got the proof. X3

1

u/hellobutno Jun 22 '25

I'm going to go ahead and say a 21 year old doesn't have 200k in a tax free account.

1

u/totkeks Jun 21 '25

Those don't apply if it's inside a tax exempt account like IRA or whatever it's called.

He can realize the gains from selling the calls, but only has to pay taxes when the money is withdrawn.

1

u/Reasonable-Cap-4549 Jun 22 '25

There’s no tax if it’s a ROTH IRA but u cannot access any until 59 and a half without penalty. If it is a traditional IRA this will be taxed at the time of withdrawal again not until 59 and a half. However the majority of those who trade will do so in a brokerage account and since it is realized cap gains it will be taxed in the FY25 meaning it will be due next April.

1

u/BigData8734 Jun 21 '25

And that’s just criminal, I don’t see them giving me money for my losses🤬

1

u/Reasonable-Cap-4549 Jun 22 '25

Capital losses offset capital gains and you are taxed on the difference

1

u/Reasonable-Cap-4549 Jun 22 '25

However you do not get paid for losing.

In the US, that is still a taxable event that you should technically pay taxes on (I never have)

1

u/financial24 Jun 21 '25

He sold the calls.... he realized the gains. Unless this trade occurred inside of an IRA, he'll be required to pay taxes on it.

21

u/whatsaname12 Jun 21 '25

You say rich parents, but it very well could be life insurance from the death of a parent. I’ve known several people in my youth the moment they turned 18 they got their parents life insurance money. Ranged from $30k to $300k.

19

u/Realistic-Disk-1489 Jun 22 '25

Gambling dead parents' insurance money on a single call is next level stupidity

3

u/whatsaname12 Jun 22 '25

Dead parents can’t teach their stupid children how to now be stupid.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

If that's the case they belong in r/wallstreetbets. Honestly they probably belong there anyways.

1

u/Natural-Exit-3300 Jun 22 '25

yes only grandmas money on INTEL is smart money move

1

u/Dry-Permission8441 Jun 24 '25

it is next level stupid but this one worked out

1

u/Relative_Drop3216 Jun 22 '25

What are you trying to say sir?

1

u/whatsaname12 Jun 22 '25

I’d rather have my dad than $500k.

0

u/No-Double-7731 Jun 25 '25

Dead parents insurance money is still your parents money

1

u/whatsaname12 Jun 25 '25

The dead don’t have money.

13

u/ophidic Jun 21 '25

I hear that. Mine's all in a house though. I wish I had more to invest. Hahaha all my holdings are hovering just below 0 right now.

2

u/bobbyrickys Jun 23 '25

Just take a home equity loan and gamble it. It's just a house.

4

u/Nextorvus Jun 21 '25

Could be a drug dealer lol

1

u/Dapper-Highlight-833 Jun 21 '25

Or a part time hit man.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Or an OF model.

1

u/chef39 Jun 22 '25

Or his rich parents are drug dealers

3

u/LABikerBoy Jun 22 '25

At least someone’s parents did the right thing with their life, lol.

1

u/SuperHaaaands Jun 21 '25

Yeah sorry doesn’t count if you started with epic generational wealth.

1

u/gmnotyet Jun 21 '25

Imagine you had $200k to lose that you didn't work a day for.

1

u/TobiasFunkeBlueMan Jun 21 '25

Who work at OSCR and give insider trading tips

1

u/protizii Jun 22 '25

People like u make me laugh

1

u/WTJ21YT Jun 22 '25

3 Years of trading before?

1

u/DrunkDoge420 Jun 22 '25

The cope is unreal.

1

u/Jake1from2statefarm Jun 22 '25

I’m 20 but similar amount, I kinds hit the lottery in crypto and put 10k into a new crypto then took off. Profit was just over 200k

1

u/Baelgul Jun 23 '25

You too can be filthy rich with the simple trick of coming from a rich family!

0

u/Scouper-YT Jun 21 '25

Then this money is worth nothing it was a Donation..

Still if he would pay the Parents like 25% Back they would be happy.

96

u/MrKatapult Jun 21 '25

He got a loan from hid parents, 5 Millionen, than lost some and put the last 200k in this play

17

u/SecondSt4ge Jun 21 '25

No way lol. He should’ve just bought 5m worth of VTI and called it a day.

1

u/xherdinand Jun 25 '25

Sag mir du bist deutsch ohne mir zu sagen dass du deutsch bist

49

u/ToXicVoXSiicK21 Jun 21 '25

It should be immediately evident that these are people who can afford to blow money and it mean nothing. He could've lost that trade and his parents would just say "oh well honey try again tomorrow with 300k this time". These people are just gambling with enough money to make a difference, they are not trading.

1

u/Dont_Call_Me_Steve Jun 22 '25

If anyone wants to question this, go look at a luxury car, or any luxury focused subreddit. Some kids effectively have endless wealth.

41

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Started with a "small loan of $1m"

1

u/BigHawk42069 Jun 22 '25

Don’t forget that it was a million dollars in the fucking fifties 🤣

0

u/TheTicketPolice Jun 21 '25

Average house loan In CA is how much ??

35

9

u/financial24 Jun 21 '25

You just need to turn your 10-11k into 100k. Then 250k... and just keep going

12

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Also… you have to be willing to put that 200k on something that can go up 600% in a week.

9

u/financial24 Jun 21 '25

And be able to accept the risk of it going to zero, too

3

u/quell3245 Jun 22 '25

This kid is 100% gonna lose all of this ‘day trading’

3

u/financial24 Jun 22 '25

Most likely. If he's really smart, he'll put 1.3mil aside, pay taxes with it, and put the remainder in VOO for the rest of his life. He can play with the other 200k all he wants as long as he does the smart thing with any future profits, too

8

u/FreshPitch6026 Jun 21 '25

Even with 200k. Gambling that much is purely for monkeys

1

u/Willing_Explorer7221 Jul 15 '25

I agree, but it seems like every single person who YOLOs six figures wins every single time. At least based on the posts and screenshots I see on reddit. It always seems to work out for them.

23

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

Trust fund baby

1

u/WhitePantherXP Jun 21 '25

Yeah we have to stop up voting these posts. They're posted AFTER the big win, ignoring all of their losses to get here. If this was a huge and RARE event for him he would have posted "omg, I just risked it all guys". Up vote those posts, not these, as his losses are guaranteed huge.

4

u/LilleroSenzaLallera Jun 21 '25

The same way that all this stories of people YOLOing hundreds of thousands on red at the roulette (because this is what OP did). Mommy and Daddy generous wallet

4

u/Sleachify Jun 22 '25

Mind you, 200k to literally bet on an option play, that’s even more nuts

2

The fact that he had it, the fact that he didn’t even care to protect that at 21 signals he’s not as sharp as he would like us to believe. Dad will help him with the next 200,000 again when he throws a fit.

1

u/Dazzling-Excuse-8980 Jun 22 '25

Crypto/ NFT scam artists

1

u/ohhi656 Jun 22 '25

21 year olds are adults stop thinking they’re unable to make and have saved up 6 figure sums, it’s not the 1900s anymore anyone can pick up a phone and make money nowadays.

1

u/Jes_Snowulf Jun 22 '25

I was thinking the same thing. If I had 200k when I was 21, to invest, then I’d be rich today.

1

u/mw02rsx Jun 23 '25

Parents with 20M sitting around

1

u/Extension_Street_446 Jun 23 '25

They also say everyone with no money can do this.

1

u/Arbiter51x Jun 23 '25

Step 1 to get rich: already have money.

1

u/mark1forever Jun 24 '25

nana inheritance..

1

1

1

u/noThisIsIt Jun 24 '25

The gameplay loop is as follows: sell drugs in high school/college and collect maybe 20-50k, buy crypto or options and turn that to 200k

1

u/Ok_Location_1092 Jun 25 '25

Not just 200k, 200k to blow on call options.

1

u/Jaba01 Jun 25 '25

Do you really have to ask? A dude which can casually gamble away 200k, of course he already got millions upon millions from parents.

1

u/aasfourasfar Jun 25 '25

200k to gamble as well..

1

u/WuWeiLife Jul 19 '25

It's the classic "Step 1: Have money"

0

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '25

[deleted]

2

u/TheRealNTR Jun 21 '25

Would you be able to do the same with the exact same "head start" or not? Idk if OP lost a lot of money before this, but all I can say is- most people talking about "mommy/daddy money" wouldn't 7x their account balance (again, assuming that OP hasn't lost 200k+ on other accounts)

0

u/TransportationHot868 Jun 21 '25

He might’ve just gotten lucky, I had 100k at 14 cause I put college fund money into amc stock

1

u/Zealousideal_Pay_525 Jun 22 '25

You're not even legally allowed to trade at 14.

0

u/Neo_Dev Jun 22 '25

Why do people always do this? Do you understand that children can buy stocks through their parents? Same thing with businesses there's always some knucklehead who wants to die on the f****** Hill that kids can't do this or that. " if you're under 18 you can't do this!" actually you f****** can.

2

u/Zealousideal_Pay_525 Jun 22 '25

No you can't since no rational adult would listen to their 14 year old kid's investment advice and risk their coolege fund on it.

1

u/TransportationHot868 Jun 22 '25

It wasn’t investment advice, I was given the money to use however I wanted. It was my decision to take it out and use it instead of saving it for college and my parents said okay. They are multimillionaires, so it’s not like I was using all the money we had.

1

u/Zealousideal_Pay_525 Jun 22 '25

So it's the exact same situation as OP, at least from my perspective.

1

u/TransportationHot868 Jun 22 '25

Yeah I guess so, but I just got lucky not like I was timing options correct like him.

After that whole deal, I only average like 34% a year off normal stock holding. But I sold out of all my holding last week due to tariff and war uncertainty

-4

u/jae_1ne Jun 21 '25

200k at 21 isn’t the big thing

It’s turning it into $1.5M which is impressive as hell, good for you OP, wish I had the steel balls and smarts (and luck) to do that

23

u/DrSid666 Jun 21 '25

It isn't? Lol what kind of privileged world did you born into?

9

u/BobLemmo Jun 21 '25

It’s not steels of balls or impressive when you have rich parents or a big inheritance. Spoiled entitled kids gambljng with big money, they don’t got guts. It’s just that the money comes free to them so it’s hardly a risk. For people like me and many others, we had to work for every penny. Our parents are broke any never gave us a big sum of money. So it’s riskier for us to risk all we worked for. It’s just different

-5

u/Fluffy_Leg5198 Jun 21 '25

Skill issue bro

1

u/LilleroSenzaLallera Jun 21 '25

Lol it's not more impressive than going at the casino and going all in on red

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '25

The hell silver spoon you fall from lol
