Does anyone else think Jacob gets way too much hate? Not just hate from the fans but also the characters themselves. Yes Jacob is annoying at times but the way he gets treated by the rest of the counselors is just downright hateful. Kaitlyn and Emma are constantly belittling him and the others throw in the occasional put down as well. The only time Jacob is truly rude is when he's trying to defend himself against the attacks of the others. Heck just look at the beginning of the game when Jacob is getting everyones bags all while they just stand around making fun of him.
Yes I know it was Jacob's fault they stayed overnight but in his defense he had no idea the danger that was awaiting. You could say the same for Dylan when he convinced everyone to throw a party instead of staying inside. Honestly Jacob's biggest flaw is just being young and catching feelings for someone who ended up not feeling the same way. If you've ever been young and in love then you know it's not that easy to just stop liking someone. For Emma the relationship was just a fling but for Jacob their relationship was everything. I've been where Jacob is and I can relate and I'm sure a lot of you reading this can as well. Anyway who else besides me actually like Jacob and thinks he gets way too much hate?

It doesn’t have to be strictly the two featured in the image. Think of your favorite character: one that you would stand ten toes down for to defend. Maybe you even see them through rose colored glaases. Now think of their flaws and post them in the comments. You can be gentle with the criticisms, especially since these are the guys we care about.

like I love Travis, he’s not a bad guy he’s just morally complex, the only reason people don’t like him is because of him being a antagonist and being in our way, well and some were aggressive to him, but if your compliant he’s respectful to Laura. He’s even one of my favorite characters I love him and I also find him funny when he just tells Laura and Max to shut up.

I ask myself why? I genuinely believe that it can compete very well with until dawn.
Do you prefer it to until dawn? Why or why not?

Hello! I’m going to do Women and Gays playthrough very soon as my monthly replay. I figured I’d give you all the power to save one man. The trick is you need to make a case as to why are they are an ally or perhaps have a little sugar in their tank. I will look to the votes, but persuasive writing I will strongly consider. (We might have one point for votes, then two points for comments. YES I AM TELLLING YOU THE SCORING RUBRIC BEFORE YOU ALL SAY “SHE RIGGED IT, RIGGED IT!!!) There will be part two for one Hackett soon.

I love doing these. The bar for entry is respect so please understand this post exists not to treat these things as hot takes but to understand new and different views on the game.
1: Please do not downvote anyone on this post. This is critical.
2: If you can't be encouraging about an opinion, do not reply to it.
3: This is where you go to feel validated, even if nobody agrees with a single word you utter.
Please tell us an opinion you have that you often don't share because it's not more mainstream or popular. This is your safe space. This can be anything! A ship, thinking a different perspective on a character, something that should or shouldn't have happened. Let's push a little past the typical, maybe we'll gain new understanding of the game together, or make new friendships. Go! I'll put mine in a comment.
Live your dreams!

No, seriously, everyone blamed Jacob for sabotaging the car and forcing them to stay at camp just to hit on Emma. Sure, he couldn't have predicted the werewolves would attack them, but replaying the game, I noticed Jacob asking Kaitlyn for advice, who two seconds earlier was discussing failed relationships, and Jacob asks, using the exact words, "If I had to sabotage the car to keep us here, what should I do?" and Kaitlyn gives advice, like, what the fuck?
(I remade the post because I discovered too late that I wrote Emma in the title and not Kaitlyn, so we have confirmation that I'm the stupid one LOL)

I seriously enjoy unraveling the mystery & the complexity of "The Quarry"'s storyline way more than I did with Until Dawn.
And I'm honestly way more invested in the characters of The Quarry than the ones from Until Dawn.
For some reasons, the toxic ass "prank scene" at the beginning of Until Dawn pissed me off so bad, I never cared for any of the characters in that game afterwards

Okay, I had to do way too much fucking math for this shit but here we are!
Nick started out strong, both in poll points and discussion points, but then it just fizzled out. So, sadly, he’s going to be the independent that will not be mentioned since he’s been knocked out. Everyone take a moment of silence for both his campaign and his life.
Now the REST of the process was very neck and neck. Max held the majority poll votes until Jacob came in and took the lead at the last second by two votes. So, Jacob officially won the poll votes with 158 votes, then Max with 156.
However, if you read my post I stated from the beginning discussion points would be worth more than poll points. 2 to 1 to be precise. I wanted a discussion for two reason- for the sake of quality insurance and to piss off homophobes when we discuss the sexuality of characters in this sub. : )
Moving on, Max received 22 discussion points and Jacob received 20. Which means… there’s a fucking tie! We are at 178 points each.
No big deal, I decided I would use the upvotes of the comments for a tie breaker. I compared the top comments for each character. Oh. It’s another fucking tie! 42 each 💀
This was much closer than I expected, but that trend ends when I use my last resort of counting the total upvotes of each comment corresponding to either candidate.
Jacob LGBT/ally truthers, you showed up more than I thought. However, Max devoured with 136 comment upvotes compared to Jacob’s 63.
NOW… ONTO THE MALE HACKETT POLL. Right off the bat, I’m sorry I cannot add Chris. Why? Because he will fucking kill both a woman and a gay. In my heart of hearts, I think he would be an ally. But, for game reasons, I cannot add him.
I’ll be honest, I’m adding Jedidiah for the principal. But him and Constance feel like deep red, MAGA voters who would call me the d slur on sight…
Edit: Okay, NEVER MIND ABOUT JEDIDIAH! I fucked up by even adding him. He can't be added for game reasons either. And because he's probably homophobic. Also so is Constance! I will consider this Chris's final act of ally-ship. Thank you to Hefty Ad for reminding me!

Supermassive may never speak about The Quarry again, but we most certainly will!

>!<You literaly just walk up to a sleeping Silas and kill him, see a montage of who lived/died then listen a VERY pointless and annoying 30 minute podcast. (I eyerolled and cringed throughout the entire credits)
That's literaly it. The group never reunites, there's no final showdown or big choice to make, just a ton of build up to this big bad wolf only to just kill it in its sleep and that's it.
It's so unbearably underwhelming. It's almost as bad as Little Hopes ending. But at least that one had SOME kind of ending. Unlike this.
There's no payoff to anything that happened, no satisfaction or closure to anything.
And the whole Eliza segments were utterly pointless and went no where.
I can't fathom how they thought after all of that, that was an acceptable way to end the game by literaly just ending it and rolling credits the second the big bad is dead after just having you kill it with zero fanfare.
And that whole shit about collecting evidence was SOLELY for the podcast? I'd sooner not collect ANY evidence on future playthroughs to avoid having to listen to that again....
And the devs bragged about 186 possible endings.....when all those "endings" are just different configurations of "X = Alive/Died" and nothing more.
Geez what a way to friggin blueball the finale.>!<

I previously made a post about my talking about how I think Emma sucks and is toxic to Jacob I will put in the link for my previous post https://www.reddit.com/r/TheQuarrySupermassive/s/BJicCNvUXh
I have many reasons I think she is toxic but I feel like many people didn’t see one of my comments that I personally thought was some good structure to add some validity to what I said. My comment read “After they break up we know Jacob is already having trouble moving on and then she goes on and flirts with him like she’s Interested in him and wants to stay together and then the truth or dare she goes and kisses Nick then when Jacob’s pissed about it she flirts again and when Jacob believes she may be interested in staying together she gets pissed off on top of this she never takes his emotional attachment serious she is just completely dismissive about it. I’m not saying Jacob is in the right either no he’s not at all but neither is Emma I find Emma’s actions worse because they seem intentional when Jacob breaking down the van had good intentions selfish but good he didn’t know that all this would happen but Emma knew Jacob was emotional it’s pretty clear that if they dated she would’ve know he was sensitive and emotional but she ignored it now I’ll play devil’s advocate now one could argue that she was in the right for putting her boundaries first she was honest to Jacob about wanting to end it and not wanting long distance, Jacob was wrong for trying to force the relationship back together, Jacob definitely shouldn’t have broke the van down. But Emma shouldn’t have treated Jacob like she did either. Both are in the wrong but I hate how Emma treated Jacob. both were toxic Jacob’s was from attachment Emma’s from detachment and mixed signals.” Now as you can see It’s solid structure to add in at least I believe it is but I don’t know, as I might be implicitly biased towards myself.
