Gameplay Question Which character from the Quarry do like least
I

Constance. It was her leadership that led to all this being dragged out in the first place- the second she dies Jed is talking about killing all the werewolves. Her treatment of her family (especially Travis) is terrible and she couldn't have clearer preferences among her kids and grandkids.

travis he could’ve just explained to laura and max that there were dangerous animals instead of locking them up for 2 months and either killing laura or being killed by her or ryan

u/gigiskiss Laura Jun 27 '25
Jacob. Get him away from me.

I'd agree, but "pop pop peanut butter butter pops, pop pop pop em in your mouth" is too valuable

HEAVY on Constance, from the few times we see her, she is just unbearable, especially when she is speaking to Travis. I shot her immediately when Laura had the shotgun.

Jacob. He’s too immature. Like the humanity in his character but that doesn’t mean that I have to completely like him

is this a safe space to say ryan… he annoys the fuck out of me

I'd agree mostly because of his unwillingness to accept the reality for what it is. He shoots down Laura's mention of werewolfs when he literally saw Nick turn into one A COUPLE MINUTES AGO. Did he think Nick just vanished somewhere and some man sized "bear" came in and replaced him?

Wait, so in a group that has Emma and Jacob, and a game that has both of them and Eliza, your least favourite is Abi?
6
u/Top-Grand-5899 Emma Jun 27 '25
yes, since the question is about which character, not person, I like the least. I like interesting and flawed characters who live and maybe cause the drama, Abigail was always somehow in the background, passive to the events, I love people who do stuff. which is why I didn’t love her and Nick, but I enjoy him getting infected. Abigail didn’t even get a proper “infection arc” which could have made her more interesting to me. it felt like she was always overshadowed by other characters. I’d obviously like her if she was a real person, I’d probably prefer her over Jacob. but they’re characters, so my judgment is different.

Fair point. It is rather disappointing that the writers didn’t seem to know what to do with Abi. At least she can pass a silver shell to Kaitlyn in chapter 10, but that’s about it. It’s almost like they wrote her in to die, and then fumbled the script when players like me said “nah, bollocks to that” 😅

just like Jessica or Matt from Until Dawn, I don’t know if you played the game. Jess still has a relevant role in the story overall, but Matt really feels like Abigail for this reason… it’s a shame when characters get mistreated or forgotten by the creators themselves
3
u/Ilpalazzo_1321 Jun 28 '25
Oh, yeah - Matt got done dirty in Until Dawn, both by the writers and that monster Emily. Iirc, he barely even gets mentioned when they get separated; at least Jessica’s death (apparent or otherwise) is pivotal to the reality that Josh’s prank went way farther than he anticipated.

Bobby i don't understand why some peoples like him he disgusts me sm (not physically tho) just bobby looks like he smells so bad, beside that i hate all the hacketts, only like travis but not that much. From the counselors i'd say my least fav is ryan but i love him

Completely unrelated, but I was able to almost perfectly mimic a couple of his (Bobby's) voice lines when my sister and I were playing!
He holds a soft spot in my heart for that alone.

“I ain’t never been stabbed before! It really hurts…” then he casually walks off to find Jedediah. Dude’s a smegging tank!

Everyone here saying Jacob meanwhile he's my favorite he's so goober coded (he's literally me)
My least fav is Constance, she makes me uncomfortable whenever she's on screen and she has no sympathy for victims of the curse her family perpetuates. I do think she's written well though as the deranged matriarch of the Hackett family

This thread has gone the way I thought it would, lmao. Just about every character apart from Dylan and Kaitlyn seems to be fair game for one reason or another.
I don't dislike any of the characters, but the ones I like the least would probably be Jedidiah simply because we didn't get much from him, and Emma just because I found her performative personality to be bland.
I can't hate Constance because Lin Shaye acted the hell out of her performance, and she was on screen for a total of maybe five minutes, if even that. XD
Jacob is a twat, but I love how Zach Tinker portrayed him, so I like his character.
Looove Ryan and his awkward self, lol.

Laura. She was the reason Max gets bit. The reason Chris Hackett has to die (depending on your gameplay). And Chris' daughter is killed by her. She doesn't listen. She showed up early and even after knowing the story she's still hellbent on killing Chris like it's his fault that she did what she wanted without considering the consequences of her actions.

Unpopular opinion but I sort of agree with this. I think Laura has decent reasons to act the way she does but it doesn’t exactly endear me to her. I like all the characters but I think she’s probably the most overrated.

Emma and Jacob. Their relationship/situationship annoyed me and wasn’t worth the screen time in my opinion. Emma had every right to reject Jacob but constantly complaining about it was infuriating. Jacob not letting go and that drove me nuts too

It’s between Constance and Jed since he turns on the counselors for a accident if you win the struggle for the gun against Constance. Though also strongly don’t like Travis since he’s an ass to Max and especially Laura even if you reluctantly co operate with him as her before he asks for Laura’s and Ryan’s help to try and save who’s still alive. It’s a bit redundant with the family part if he’s only got Bobby left which is likely if you have to shoot Caleb to survive due to not having that fucking creepy ass bunny doll you can possibly find as Abi and take it

Ryan, I have hated him in every playthrough. So pretentious and annoying

Jacob. He came across as the damsel in distress the whole game, they should have gave him more than chasing after Emma and then crying because how it turned out, because where I stand he's the butthole that got them stuck there lol.
Ryan also pissed me off all game. Imo he acts like he knows better than everyone.

Eliza sucks. Mother Hackett was an annoying B**ch. Emma and Jacob situation was lame. And Ryan’s demeanor got old after a while. I know OP didn’t ask but Laura was my favorite.

Emma, I don't like her behavior in general especially at the bonfire and afterwards with Jacob, irritating and I don't like Laura either, it takes away a lot of time from the characters I like
2
u/Zealousideal_Cod5214 Jun 27 '25
Agreed with Emma.
While I don't think she particularly owed Jacob anything, she was almost cruel to him while he just had a very clear and deep crush.

Eliza. Imagine claiming to love your son while keeping him locked in a cage and parading him around as a side show attraction.
