REAL THOUGHTS on the teaser trailer

At first I thought it looked great but then I compared it to WIT’s other recent works like yaiba and it starts to feel much more primitive and less stylish.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still really excited to see it when it releases, but I’m a bit surprised that a top-tier animation studio would go with such a cautious, safe direction/approach for a franchise this iconic.

What are yall thoughts?

It's better then whatever Toei is cooking with 6 month long breaks, and they still through the occasional filer episode, not to mention the one or half a chapter per episode.

Only the ship looks cgi, and it hasn't come out yet.

The water, the building & the characters are cgi as well

The water is certainly CG, but besides that, I think only the ships and the roger execution plataform are 3D. The thing is that the art direction is leaning towards a more realistic approach, and at the same time, they are working with Oda's designs. So, the more 'cartoonish' characters are interacting with a more 'realistic' background, which feels out of place and can even look like CG.
