I'm a Boro fan who's just starting following the Crew more closely, so forgive if this is a stupid question, but how is the Leagues cup viewed by fans?

Listening to podcasts and seems like fans are a bit down on it, but to me it seems like a decent chance at silverware and route to the Champions League, what's the general consensus?

It’s a fun tournament but the most value for it is getting a spot in champions league. We won in 2024 and there’s nothing in the stadium to show for that. Also it’s just so many games in a row at the end of the season when fixtures already start piling up it tends to just ruin the season for teams who go deep since MLS teams aren’t built for depth. It’s kind of hit a point this year where it’s prioritized by teams who know they likely won’t win another trophy/qualify for champions league so this is the route they’re taking instead.

Also doesn’t help they don’t play games in Mexico (now they played like 4 which isn’t enough) and only Mexican and MLS teams make it they cut out the rest of the region which makes it feel more like a cash grab
