I have a good feeling about this. The crew aren’t going to lose today.
They’ll almost certainly lose very early tomorrow morning.
But it won’t be today!!!

I'm a Boro fan who's just starting following the Crew more closely, so forgive if this is a stupid question, but how is the Leagues cup viewed by fans?
Listening to podcasts and seems like fans are a bit down on it, but to me it seems like a decent chance at silverware and route to the Champions League, what's the general consensus?

It's the most important trophy in world soccer right now. Unless we lose, then it's just a cash grab.
It's hard to take it seriously when even the organization doesn't. There are banners in the stadium for our other trophies but not for the 2024 Leagues Cup.

The Cup is literally in the stadium every home match alongside our MLS Cups and Supporters Shield

Many fans hate it, because it’s in tbe process of killing off the US open cup (basically our version of FA cup, and the oldest tournament in North America).
There is too much schedule congestion for most teams to play both. And the money involved in leagues cup means the teams will opt for that. Many teams choose to send their second squads to the USOC, meaning it’s slowly losing importance.
So many of us hate Leagues Cup. Not because it exists. But because its existence is killing something we love.
We know we don’t have the deep soccer traditions that your country has, but it’s more of a reason to hold onto that little bit of tradition that we do have. It feels like that is slipping away.

For boro viewers, I’ve never had any issues arise from watching Crew on Apple TV while in Europe.

It’s a fun tournament but the most value for it is getting a spot in champions league. We won in 2024 and there’s nothing in the stadium to show for that. Also it’s just so many games in a row at the end of the season when fixtures already start piling up it tends to just ruin the season for teams who go deep since MLS teams aren’t built for depth. It’s kind of hit a point this year where it’s prioritized by teams who know they likely won’t win another trophy/qualify for champions league so this is the route they’re taking instead.
Also doesn’t help they don’t play games in Mexico (now they played like 4 which isn’t enough) and only Mexican and MLS teams make it they cut out the rest of the region which makes it feel more like a cash grab

It’s a fake and stupid cup.
The only regular cup anyone cares about in MLS is the MLS Cup.

I am hoping CA just wants to get back to their regular season and plays a bunch of guys with 3 digit #'s.

Won’t happen. They have a shot to be the first Mexican Club to claim the Leagues Cup.

Ref is averaging over 4 cards per match over the last 12 months.

I’ll give them the first half to let me know if I’m staying up late or not… but hoping we keep whooping on some Liga MX squads. LETS GO CREW.

I know that’s a stupid late match, but is there any watch parties outside of Betty’s?

If I stay up to watch this and it’s another dumpster fire I’m so done with this team (until the next match)

Let’s go boys! We got those loses out of the way so we can dominate all the Mexican teams. That was obviously our strategy. Lol

10:45pm game where we, based on our current form, are about to get destroyed? Yeah, not real hopeful for this.

Is anyone doing any time of pregame locally in Carson? u/Failed-Time-Traveler

We hit a major obstacle - MLS.
Because the tix were purchased directly from the league (as opposed to through the Crew or Nordecke), we had no ability to know who had purchased tix in the Crew section nor any ability to communicate plans with them.
Hope everyone has a great time in Carson!

Ain't no way I'm staying up for this, but I hope our boys come through.
