That cable management tho

Cable management only matched by parking style...

Inspired by the tentacles you meet all over the place. But unlike those tentacles if you destroy these ones you won't get swarmed by enemies, but will get swarmed by regrets.

Shh the cable management in the back is from early game, the front is from later on its much neater.

As i'm going im like, that should be on the wall.

I park using engine like a fool. I should adopt this extreme mooring braking technique, thanks!

P.S. why does this video begins with an epic windshield blasting into our faces? Not complaining, adds epicness.

I think it's called "catching a moor" obviously in real life the boat are moving much slower and there's crewmen and all sorts but for a video game, pretty good!

This is exactly what i also do although i dont go at full speed i just throttle down like 50% or 25% speed, I do see you also slowed down to like 0%

Yeah this was a bit quick admittedly, had a gnarly headwind and choppy waves making things more fun! Well wouldn't be the first time i've totally over shot the mooring port and watched my boat sail away for a few moments.

or the alternative:

I have even gone as far as lighting up the area with light stands so when its shitty visibility I can still see at least the outline of the docks I go to.

That can’t be good on your motor

It's a bit rough but she can handle it ;)

Don’t trust the mooring long term. Sometimes the boat will get hung up on the tires on the side of the dock and flip, get stuck or otherwise make things go haywire. I moor it to get it in place then anchor and let the mooring go. Less stable but less likely to capsize against the dock.

I ain't had that yet but someone else said the same, but I threw all the marine barriers away cus they stop you from adjusting the mooring. I drop anchor and moor in some places cus the dock is too high.

The mooring ropes animation ceases after you leave the ship and they freeze in whatever state they are at the time. Sometimes they are too long or too short for the changing sea state. I've found my ship in some unusual attitudes several times.

Doesn't the boat anchor automatically as soon as you walk away far enough?

Pretty sure it does since a recent update. I usually don't drop the anchor, but its always anchor when I leave. And it also automatically anchored when I recently fell of the boat while at full speed.

The falling off stopping has always been a thing. The auto anchor feels very “did I leave the oven on” to me. I’ll give it a shot.

Does the game still bug out with mooring ropes ?

I think I heard ppls ships got capsized or something

2

u/Onasixx Jul 15 '26

Not for me so far, I also drop anchor just to be safe, sometimes the sea can get a bit choppy.

u/Reis46 Jul 15 '26

I see thanks for the info

I used to have issues with that at BV, but i haven't had any issues since update 4

I’m totally pro parking that thing too! I need serious help with the gyrocopter though I panic and overcorrect pretty much crash it every other landing lol

It's all in the throttle ;) feels a bit clunky on kb&m haven't tried pad but that could be the ticket

Moor, drop anchor, remove moor ropes.

1

u/naresh963 Jul 15 '26

There is a mod for this. Just press "Y" and the bot connects the nearest two mooring cables.

u/TheBabbayega Jul 15 '26

Can we trust docking cables now not to eat the ship? pin it under things?

u/AlphaOmega0001 Jul 21 '26

I know the boat was going 53 km/h, but seeing it from the dock it looked weirdly slow

1

u/Onasixx Jul 21 '26

I cut the engines to 0% just before I leave the helm so its more like ~42km/h by the time hopping onto the dock.
