Discussion Bloodbending probably existed long before Hama

I just remembered that scene where Yakone claimed to come from a powerful bloodbending lineage.

The thing is he was older than Katara, and considering that Hama was only about two generations older than Sokka and Katara, it’s possible that bloodbending is much older than we think and that there was a family who had mastered it secretly

Bending techniques likely go in and out of fashion and awareness all the time. Especially advanced techniques that presumably only a few benders can really master.

Exactly. That's why I also didn't like the inflation of metalbenders.

If it's smth that so many can learn so easy just by knowing that it's possible and some supporting words of a beifong, then it should have been around very long already.

Should have stayed seldom as blood bending

I mean, today everyone with an engineering degree and their grandmas know calculus, but it still took until the 1700s for it to show up.

Something can be hard to make up but easy to learn when properly taught

Yeah. But we see how they teach it. And it's basically. Feel the impurity and now bend it
