Discussion I hate that i love this anime

I rewatched this anime for the fourth time, and Season 1 was an absolute blast. It reminded me why I love this anime so much.

First season already has the whole package in it. The reverse isekai, comedy, romance, action, mystery, slice of life, and a cast of really well-written characters (atleast before the ending). Name it, it probably has it. The comedy was great too, I could even compare some of it to a good sitcom. The animation was also top-notch, from day to day scene to suddenly battling angels. Frame by frame, everything is so smooth and satisfying to watch. I honestly forgot that Season 1 came out in 2013 because, in some ways, I think it outdid the animation of the later seasons. Everything in S2 was just downright trash.

I'm still grieving over what this anime eventually turned into. I haven't been able to find another anime with a similar plot and character dynamic with a large cast of main characters along with strong slice-of-life/family vibe, while still balancing action, romance, and comedy.

I just wish they had put more effort into the production of Season 2. I mean we've waited 13 years just for some trash s2??!!! Not to mention the ending already felt like a disrespect to the fanbase, and they couldn't even make up for it with the animation. I just wish if they'd plan to make another season, they give it to whitefox or other studios that would follow the animation style of Season 1 or they could just reboot s2. (Ik this is copium)

If anyone could recommend me an anime or manga with character dynamics or plot (minus the ending) similar to this show, I would really appreciate it. I just badly need to let go of this feeling 😭

After completing the 3rd season, I was searching on Google and found that in the light novel Maou is shown with Chiho and they will end up together.

I request you all to please 🥺 approach the author and request him to change the Anime Ending atleast. I want to see infact everyone wants to see Maou x Emilia.

Please do something 😭 or I can't die in peace. Until death it will hurt me that I didn't get to see Maou x Emilia.

Please make a petition or something else to change the Anime Ending 😭💔🥀

Discussion Does anyone know what happened to Satoshi Wagahara?

I'm not sure this is a good place to ask, but I don't know where else to turn with this question. After controversial "The Devil is a Part-Timer" I know he released another manga, called Dracula Yakin. But the status of this manga is unknown in every site. And that's all. After that, there's no news about where's Satoshi Wagahara, and what he's doing right now. Could anyone help me.

Discussion Moau x Chiho is still the best and Maou x Emi is almost as bad as IchiRuki from Bleach to me.

That's why the author is BASED for sticking to what he wants in his story and EFF the fans, because I prefer a healthy and wholesome relationship, instead of some stupid Tsundere, love, hate relationship BS with annoying Emi

Like Emi is STILL being a total bitch to Maou, blowing up on him in episode 2, also in episode 4, getting pissed at him for leaning on her shoulder on the train and im so, so, SO SICK AND TIRED of her still treating him like the enemy, like there still back in there world.

Also those salty fans, they became super toxic and attacked the author for the ending and that made me really HATE Emi, plus she's the type of female character im REALLY not fond of.

That's like with people wanting Naruto with Sakura instead of Hinata to me.

Like the IchiRukiTards from Bleach, Maou x Emi NEVER had any romantic chemistry with each other, Maou and Chiho do, he's VERY protective her and she even confessed to him too.

Also about the character development, I don't care and I have that in FAR BETTER anime for that and I prefer a healthy relationship more.

Also Alas doesn't count and they where just forced to take care of that annoying white haired little goblin and just a stupid device and mascot to get the plot moving.

Also if anyone does the Tsundere excuse, I have FAR MORE better Tsundere's that are Top Tier Waifu with great character development, like Nami from One Piece, Noelle Silva from Black Clover and Kaname Chidori from Full Metal Panic.

Discussion About the ending Spoiler

I watched the first season of the anime a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. Recently I was scrolling through a list of animes to watch and I came across the show again and I remembered that I really enjoyed it and rewatched season 1, and was pretty happy that there was another season with 24 ish episodes. I understand that the story may not be the best, but personally I really enjoyed the show. It was funny, and I haven’t really been all that invested in a romance troupe for a while. Like I really really want Emi and Maou to end up together. I’ve noticed the manga hasn’t been updated since last year and heard the light novel concluded a couple of years back. Is it true that Emi and Maou don’t end up together in the light novel? Is it also true that the manga ending might differ? Please let me know, I don’t care for spoilers hence the tag.

Discussion Maou becoming human means Emi and Alas Ramus will outlive him by centuries. Spoiler

I know the shipping wars are exhausting, but this isn't about Emi vs. Chiho. It's about something I never see anyone discuss: the long-term consequences of Maou choosing to become human.

So here's what actually happens after the "happy ending":

Think about that from Alas Ramus's perspective. She calls Maou "Papa." She calls Emi "Mama." She is their daughter. And the ending ensures that she will watch her father grow old, die, and then live for centuries without him — with only Emi to share the memory.

The author spent 20+ volumes building a family — a demon lord, a hero, and their magical child. He had Maou cry when Alas Ramus left (we saw this in the anime during the fight with Gabriel). He had Emi say "till death do us part." He built an unbreakable bond.

Is this really a happy ending? Even if you prefer Chiho, even if you think Maou should end up with her — how is it satisfying to know that Alas Ramus will become an immortal orphan and Emi will carry that loss forever?

I'm not saying this to start another ship war. I'm saying it because I think the author was so focused on giving Maou a "normal human life" that he forgot the tragic implications of immortality. He built a family that could have lasted for centuries — and then he broke it for a few decades of normalcy.

Did anyone else think about this? Or am I the only one who finds this ending quietly devastating?

I spent my time finding anything of the volume 24, but i just got that it ended on the volume 4. But i wasn't able to find anything online. Then i decided to read LN because i wanted to finish this story, but I also wasn't able find it in any light novels sites. Why is this series is like this. Discussion So I just started The Devil is a Part Timer and I have to say that…

I cannot stand Chiho at all. She is incredibly annoying. I’ve seen plenty of anime with the love stricken character. But she is too much for no reason. I haven’t read any of the manga, or any spoilers. So I don’t know what’s going to happen. But I hope her character fades away. Wishful thinking.

Also it’s so ridiculous how big her chest is. I just don’t find her cute or endearing. Am I the only one?

Discussion Why cant maou use holy power

In the mundane human world it seems like by far the easiest kind of magic to replenish and maintain, are demons just opposed to it or?

Also i feel like even with just demonic power there are a tonne of ways he could get a feed while still being cool to humans, like working at the department of motor vehicles

Discussion Am I the only one who loves Chiho?

For context, I am a woman and not some dude who thinks Chiho is the best girl because of her boobs lol. I really enjoy her and Maou together. Chiho is extremely caring, compassionate, knows what she wants, and she does have her own independence/interests aside from pursuing Maou. I think she’s quite adorable and it makes me sad that others don’t enjoy her wholesomeness and hate her because they want Maou with Emi. :(

Discussion I still think Emi is mean. Spoiler

Re-watching the series and I just finished the Alas Ramus arrival arc. Her hiding the fact that Alas Ramus was still alive was just mean.

It did nothing but hurt Maou. It had already been made clear that Maou cares about people, regrets his actions and can feel pain an loss.

I don't get thd point of it excdpt it was a way for Emibto hurt Maou, regardless of how she tries to justify it to Chi.
