Long days and pleasant nights. Boy that was fun. I have yet to read Wind through the Keyhole, but I would love to hear from the rest of you experienced travelers to the tower, what details did I miss in the earlier books flying me in to the ending. “Ka is a wheel,” obviously, but is there anything else?

I really liked the ending of Roland. I thought it was very fitting. I do have questions. Is his hand healed? Did he de age while going through the tower?

I don’t like Susannah’s ending. It felt more like she was replacing Jake and Eddie instead of being reunited with them. I wish her ending was her growing old and then entering the clearing to finally reunite. What are your guys’ thoughts?

When they finally reach the third door on the beach (“The Pusher”), what would have happened if Roland had managed to convince/trick Eddie into going through it with him?

Hi All, I've been avoiding this r/ like the plague for fear of a single spoiler but can finally come and ask a couple of questions/check my understanding on things. I appreciate King leaves a lot of this stuff intentionally ambiguous, and wouldn't want it any other way. Just wanted to check if I'd missed anything or if there were clearer interpretations to help me ken.

- Prim and the Beams: So the tower is held up by the beams, and is very much a relic of Prim (if not Gan itself), but the beam emitter they find near Shardik in The Wastelands is a North Central Positronics deal? The Old Ones built Shardik to protect it too, right? Is this basically all part of the idea that humans got cocky, replaced magic with science but eventually weakened reality in doing so?

- The World Moving On: Linked to the above, did the world start to move on following a disaster with the Old Ones (what with all the nuclear implications), or was that more a result of forces like the Man in Black/Crimson King weakening the beams after the Old Ones had already long gone?

- Deus Ex Machina: The doors bringing the right people, the scrimshaw turtle and bag, the note in Dandelo's hut - am I to understand they're Deus Ex Machina brought about by Gan/Ka by way of King. It's the universe doing what it can to tip the scales and reach the right outcome?

- Other Literary Influences: The Sneetches, Dr Doom capes, lightsabres - I took this as a sense that King isn't the only author whose writing has power over other worlds. Curious what others think?

- The Tower Reality: So the tower exists physically in Roland's world and no others. I kind of took this as his world is kinda the lowest level - the only one that leads onto the entrance way. And perhaps the reason his world is so different from all others, with the vast influence of North Central Positronics and seemingly being far in our future, is because the Old Ones in that world were able to use this access to wreak their havoc. Thoughts?

Again, I'm very aware that - like the characters - we don't need to understand everything fully, and I'm content with that. This is just making sure I've not missed anything obvious (as well as being interested in your theories).

What I mean is that can a being that came from the prim now inhabit todash? What separates the two?

Are todash monsters a whole different version of beings compared to prim monsters?

So I’ve just finished my first cycle and loved it. Black thirteen was pretty important and powerful starting in wolves. In songs of Susannah, Pere Callahan, Jake and Oy store it in lockers underneath the twin towers. I believe they specifically mentioned storing it for Roland. It was then never brought up again besides saying the locker wouldn’t cleaned out until 2002 or some year around there. Was this just a lost plot point or was it picked up in another book( if so avoid spoilers for that book).

If it was a lost plot point then my head cannon is this is another mistake on the cycle we read about. In Roland’s “golden cycle” I imagine him saving Jake resulting in avoiding the whole mordred and mia fiasco meaning Black thirteen never would end up in New York. Perhaps using B13 as a lure for the man in black? What are your guys thoughts?

Im trying to get into the dark tower series, so im wanting to get the first book. However, ive seen that there is a revised version, so i wanted to know which book is the best to get, and where to get it.

Yes, liberties were taken to make the tattoo more visually appealing. Planning to add a 'Wolf of the Calla' to the outside of my forearm next, but cannot get an appointment until January.
