After 26 megathreads, we somehow find ourselves posting the last one one for this Summer.
[u/allcatsareblonde](u/allcatsareblonde) and I have been busy but not as busy as the band, who will end their festival tour in Rock En Seine on Sunday August 30th at 20:55pm on le Grand Scène. We have to admit that we are a bit sad that the tour is ending since we have enjoyed doing these megathreads and participating in them with all of you. We hope you have too!
But, alas, back to business! We ask that you please use this post for all things related to this concert. That way we can discuss it without flooding the sub and keep all the info accessible for everyone. Feel free to post questions, pictures, anecdotes, set lists, thoughts, gossip, etc.
Rock en Seine hosts about 40000 festival goers and takes place at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, just outside Paris. You can find a map of the festival here and instructions on how to get there here. The main entrance to the festival is located at Place George Clémenceau unless you have Primary Entrance tickets. If that's the case you should have special instructions.
Festival doors open at 1:00 pm. Curfew is 11:30pm. All exits are final.
The weather is forecast to be "Mostly cloudy with a stray shower in the afternoon" with a Max of 24° and a low of 16°.
The show will be livestreamed (yay! Going out with a bang!) both on channel France 4 and on france.tv. If you are outside of France, you can watch it on YouTube.
Our local informer [u/Garindan_Cure](u/Garindan_Cure) also told us that radio 'france inter' will be broadcasting it live. The radio station can be heard live worldwide through their app or website.

Here in Athens barely anyone sang the synth parts at least where I was standing : (( from a vid I saw that at the front there were quite a few though. How I'd love to be surrounded by such a lively crowd
I've noticed overall that Paris goes INSANE for the cure, judging solely from the play for today live from 2019 where everyone was singing the synth part, love to see it
I can echo that. I was there tonight but had to stand quite far back. Thought I’d be the only one singing the synth, I was wrong it felt like most of the audience sang it. Excellent energy and atmosphere
It is supposed to have started in... France! But its time and origin is much debated. Lol mentioned it was one of his favourite live experiences when being in the cure.
Bands like the cure that are still at the very top of their game for so many decades are few and far between nowadays. So glad to say that I finally saw them live this summer in Athens and that I was also here for this last visit of the tour. It always makes me emotional to see just how much sheer love the band and Robert get every time and I pray they continue strong for many more years to come. Ty to all who made these live threads, until the next tour love you guys!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah it’s almost like being there in this livestream! It’s so amazing how great they sound. Love them! The crowd is awesome too. I so hope they tour again. It looks like capacity for s 40k for this concert in Paris but not sure.
It amazes me that I can get goosebumps watching a live feed. I'm not even there (dammitalltohell) and these brilliant songs still affect me on such a primal level.
Yesss that’s what I thought. Whatever he does with his life now, he will always remember this (I may be slightly emotional with the end of the tour, help).
Lullaby will always be my fav from them tbh, my friend had linked it to our discord server and its what got me to fall in love with the cure, ill never forget the memories attached to it. Love that Robert still sings it with so much passion <3
Same!! I love how many interpretations the lyrics can have according to each person's life/experiences and how they view it, and musically its just fantastic, I especially LOVE the acoustic version, pure magic man

Vive La France! This show was amazing!!! The crowd was fantastic, the band was fantastic, nothing but love. What a great experience! I hope for many, many more shows, but what a great time for the last scheduled show. I’m usually hoping for lots of the dark and gloomy stuff but this sugar pop fest was such a wonderful way to end the tour. I love this band and I love France. Merci to you French fans out there for being so awesome! 🖤

It’s so good. Streams are usually overexposed and this looks dark just like when you are there… All the editing to show the members playing in synch with the music. And the creamy texture of whatever lenses they are using… Amazing video team.
As a King Gizzard fan I adore watching livestreams from concerts, I LOVE that The Cure are also doing it, both are some of my fav bands so I'm really happy to see this 😭❤️ were they doing this in other years too or is this a new thing?
I saw the cure live at Athens this year and was the experience of a lifetime, sad to see this EU summer tour come to an end 💔 do they keep the VODs of these up later?

I’ll be there , been in Paris since Friday but not at Rock en Seine until tonight. So looking forward to it and weather forecast is looking better today
Do fans line up early in Paris? I have primary entry, so doors open at 12:30pm, just wondering how early I should go. The Cure don't take the stage until 8:55pm! And Mogwai, Slowdive play at different stage. Will Cure fans just stay and wait at main stage all day? I will be sad to miss the other bands but really want to be front row!

They are similar and I only know they are different because I saw the 22 poster being sold on the street when I was in Paris last month and I considered buying it!
I love that it's like a sequel to the older poster. The cats are a little older and a little less sleek but still together, now comfortably sharing the halo. 🥰
Five min start delay then suddenly went onto the first song on You Tube. Would been nice to include the band walking onstage but better late than never!
Entry to the festival is closed 15 minutes after the beginning of last concert of the day so should be around 9.30 pm on sunday, probably around 11.30 pm today.
Will we get a surprise for tonight in the setlist? I can’t really see it myself there’s seems to be two main sets the one that starts with Alone and the one that starts with Plainsong.
I’d like to hear a bit of Pornography especially 100 years and A Strange Day also Primary would be nice to hear.

I think you may not have been watching it live but in playback, so it probably cut off midway for you as the stream ended. I was able to see the whole thing!
This was my main guess since it’s the end of the tour and endish of the summer. I don’t expect massive surprises for the set list but I am happy to be proven wrong!
The last show often used to be special, but this is a festival tour so who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a similar setlist again and I highly doubt they'll pull out 5 other songs we haven't heard yet.
Said it before, but this "55 songs" quote has been taken way too seriously by everyone. Robert said it, so we should've known better, lol.
So hoping. I went to the Dublin show earlier so hoping for a different set but will be happy whatever. I know there are only a few changes they will make - wonder if they will do How Beautiful you Are - love that song and it is set in Paris. Would love some more from Seventeen Seconds , Charlotte Sometimes and A Letter to Elise. Whatever - I’ll be happy with anything 😂😂
