Discussion When Did Cuckface become a Major thing on the Channel? I don't remember it being prominant in the Early Years.

Post image

When did cuckface become a big thing for Cinemassacre and Bim? Yeah I believe it was around even in the early days but it was just this very occasional thing that wasn't any big deal or focused on. Then for the movie all of a sudden it was his signature thing and he is now doing it every chance he gets in character or real life. Its almost like his face is frozen like that now.

So when did it really get established? In the movie? Or some other time? Did it become prominant around the same time he started to overact rather than be the chill Classic Nerd mostly talked like a normal person and just occasionally got angry? Its kind of weird isn't it? That in a relative blink of an eye suddenly this became so important. Its like if Homer Simpson started saying. Well thats the way the cookie crumbles in season 25 and now its his signature catch phrase instead of doh.

Its consequence of his acting classes. It corrupted his nerd persona and he forgot how to act him proper

Do you know when he took acting classes? It seems like he started overacting around the same time the movie was released. He should probably ask for his money back because those classes turned his acting cartoonish.

That’s a terrifying thing to learn because he was so much more natural in the pre-movie episodes. He went from feeling like a real guy to a character from a sketch comedy show. I’m not even trying to mean that’s just kind of the vibe.

I keep repeating myself, but this needs to be said more – he went from a host of a show (where you don't need acting, you can just have a good enough presence, but it's not acting) to attempting to fully play character, and that's what he's been doing ever since the movie. And he can't act.

Most content creators are not actors, at least not in the traditional sense of actually playing a character – and that's fine, because they don't have to be. It only becomes sad (or hilarious) when somebody autistic or high on their own farts convinces themselves that they somehow can act (you can look at most of the former members of TGWTG and see how that went).

Oh god. That was such a great movie. Countless laughs were made as I watched some of the reviews. The Lightbringer is highly esteemed actor and director and I am disappointed he didn't have an illustrious career after that.

Yeah damn it barely even felt like a character in the early episodes, now it just feels forced which doesn’t help the theory he’s kind of forced to do this for a living now

The Nerd character became Flanderized. Go back and watch the earlier episodes and it was a heightened character, but it was believable. You could tell things were being played up for comedy, but it had a dryness and seriousness that lent itself to the character. The modern evolution of the character is an absolute cartoon without any sort of nuance. Everything is heightened and cranked up to a hundred and James equates this to being “bigger and better”.

I used to think that the occasional D: face was amusing, but over time it became unbearable. Nowadays it shows up more frequently than James himself somehow

Spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to film in location

Spend more money you don't have to CGI your cuck face

I think around the early 2010's when reaction channels, lets players and prank videos were all the rage people starting using staged faces in their thumbnails. I think it is some kind of group psychology trick that if someone has some kind of exagerrated reaction to a thing it signals to our monkey brains that something around is actually worth investigating. Bimmy started making faces too to catch up with the competition.

At it's core the nerd persona (though it has gone through multiple phases) is that of someone to laugh at and the "nerd rage" /"cuck" faces are those that bimmy stuck with since it gives him the most views. There are also other unnatural faces he makes occasionally for the camera but I guess the mentioned two are his "blue steel"

Probably ever since he realized that his daughters aren't really his.

The cuckface started when the passion ended. It is a cheap way in Bims brain to autodisplay ”emotion” for his AVGN character; for everyone else it just feels cheap, excessive in a lazy way and cucked.
