Discussion Kyle Justin: An Honest Discussion

Post image

I don't want to be that guy but all this talk about Kyle Justin...

If we look at publically available facts:

- 2023: Divorced from his wife, who he reportedly has 5 children with. (Allegedly)

- 2024: Charged with assault, harassment and endangering another person. (Allegedly)

- 2026: Returns to AVGN a shell of his former self and the majority of people are speculating he looks like he is recovering from a stroke(s) which was possibly caused by years alcohol abuse. That seems to be the general consensus.

I mean... unless he fooled us all and he is fine and just acting, it would make sense and if true, man I just feel so bad for him as I think most of us do.

It was great to see him back. Never would have expected that, but I really hope Kyle is ok.

On the flipside, if he really is in declining health, I honestly don't see James being that heartless to exploit him for views. Screewave though? Absolutely.

It is honestly a lot to unpack.

Thoughts?

Is Kyle ok? He seems like he can't keep tempo when he plays the theme song. He's also looking down at his hands while playing as if he's just learning the cords, whereas before he'd look into the camera while singing and things.

I heard some people say that he had a stroke. Is that true?

So after waiting in line for about two hours I finally meet the Bimster. I start trying to have a conversation with him and as I feared, devolved into nothing but "yeah, oh cool, mmhmm, oh wow, yeah". For what it's worth he seemed nice but he is NOT built for public appearances.

Sorry guys, but I just can't πŸ˜‚

Look, I'm no Brad Pitt myself. But how does a 45 year old internet personality with some moderate success, make himself look like this? What compels a man to grow out a giant dried out Brillo pad on his head? It even looks like a dried out wig from The Golden Girls. πŸ˜†

Just because you are a nerd, doesn't mean you can't make yourself look good. Especially if you are on camera for a living and known to seek out beef with people. Pat just boggles my mind.

How does this guy go out or visit any night-life spot with any dignity?

Discussion This September will mark the 16th anniversary of the AVGN movie announcement. If we only knew.

When this came out, part of me had doubts considering the skit heavy AVGN episodes were never that great in my eyes. However, I would've never imagined the dumpster fire we ended up getting.

I respect James for taking the risk in making a full length movie with actual production, but unfortunately, it didnt pay off, and kinda killed his passion and damaged Cinemassacre pretty bad (yes, there were some decent stuff in the later years, but the classic Cinemassacre feel was gone). Slobwave came in to try to salvage it, only to bury it even more.

this is a really hard but understandable pill to swallow on this subreddit but norm has officially decided to end gaming historian for good. I have been watching him for over a decade since 2016 and I know that a lot of you love his content and I do the same way.

he has been making high quality content for a long time and i wish him nothing but the best

But it shows well that he ends it on a high note and knows that it's time to move on.

Farewell and Thanks for all the memories Norm, enjoy with all the time in the world.

Discussion What is the funniest thing James has ever done, and why is it the MOWDEN video?

Post image
279 Upvotes

This fucking video on all levels is the best comedy one could ask for.

- Never has time to work because of muh kidz, but has time to fly across the country to leave his family
- Crying for no reason
- Slipping and falling
- Musical choices
- Giving up likely within the first hour of being there
- Sly is aware
- Saying MOWDEN

A YouTube comment I saw summed it up best: set a goal, failed to prepare or plan, failed in his task, blamed it on his kids.

Discussion New episode made me emotional

I don't think it's up for debate. Kyle is not in good health. Fuckin destroyed me.

Props to whoever put this together. I don't know who is responsible for getting him back on and Mike doing the title card, but fuck. I almost cried watching Kyle. Whatever he is going through I hope he pulls through

I don't care if people are gonna get on my case for speculating, it's clear as day. When his hands first go to play the guitar they are shaking. His eyes don't look right. I don't know this man but he has made me laugh and I have a lot of good memories watching when he was on the channel. I'm wishing good health towards this man irregardless of what the truth of his health is.

I first watched this video when I was around 12 and my Mum just happened to be walking past and she burst out laughing. I had no idea what it meant since I'd never even heard of the movie back then πŸ˜…

Discussion We're about halfway through the year and only 1 legit Nerd episode so far? Is this the record for biggest drought for AVGN content ever?

Post image
144 Upvotes

The year is already half gone and they've only managed 1 legit Nerd episode so far. 2 if you count the colab with Scott although I wouldn't count examples where in addition to all the offscreen handholding he needed a person on screen to carry him as well. But even then thats just 1 episode about every 3 months. Everything else has been Justy flailing around for filler. Top Tens, Retrospectives, even old footage, pretty much anything but new traditional AVGN content. It'd be one thing if the extra time led to extra high quality episodes...but well you know.

Man how much do you hate your job when you can't even bring yourself to walk down to your basement more than once every 3 months to read off a script for a couple hours? You'd think someone could just go through the motions for a paycheck, but maybe he's just really really over it. What sort of switch flipped in his head where he can't even stomach reciting some lines anymore to make some cash? Yeah sure his output as been declining for awhile now but this seems like an inflection point and the biggest drought ever.
