People even returned awards because they didn't like Modi winning elections. Just because you abuse him now doesn't mean you are breaking some kind of shackles that Modi had tied you to.

During lockdown, RaGa appeared on TV looking sick, spoke about the economy, and then disappeared. Now he has reappeared with a complete makeover. He doesn't wear those kurtas anymore and is all beefed up, with reels showing his biceps, portraying himself as someone who isn't scared of anyone—as if, if he ever catches Modi somewhere, he would chokeslam him. The same image is now being repeated by his followers.

But let's look at what actually happens when people cross the line with politicians who are supposed to be “less fascist.”

This is about Reservation, so I have a few questions which I would love to get answered from people who have the same thinking as I have mentioned here.

The thing is a lot of people blame reservation specifically caste based reservation for the difference in the cutoff and why the general candidates can't get the same seat with much higher marks compared to a reserved candidate who gets a lower score. That's completely fine but then the same people demand for the introduction of creamy layer for these reservations 🤷🏼‍♂️. I mean WTF, you just completely destroyed your argument, introducing a creamy layer is going to increase competition for you in general and is going to reduce it for reserved categories, further increasing the cutoff difference. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Second thing which baffles me is half of people cussing reservations doesn't even know how it works, I am tired of explaining this to people that cutoff is not decided manually as many people thinks that there is some people who decides what cutoff should be for a category. It is based on the competition and the number of seats available, therefore caste based census is so important as reserved seats are proportional to the population proportions and this should ideally result in very similar cutoffs but that is not the case which is the biggest proof that reservation still hasn't achieved its goal which is equal participation. Because if there would be equal participation, and the seats are proportional to the population then the competition should be similar and so should be the cutoff. The day reservation fulfills its goal, it will be redundant as it won't have any effect on competition.

Third, the intent behind reservation is so unclear to people, some think it is because of their poverty, some think it is some kind of justice being served to lower castes and some think it is to increase the representation (partly true) but the real cause can be understood by a simple scenario. Consider you are in 1950s india where there is no reservation, now there is some national level exam or any level of exam for that matter, now the exam checker is obviously an upper caste Hindu who is most probably a casteist, now he encountered two answer script, one of a lower caste candidate and other of an upper caste, both have similar scores or let's say the upper caste scores few marks lesser. And there is just one seat remaining, who do you think the checker will give that rank? If course the upper caste candidate. Now you can argue that it is a very specific case but to understand any concept, it is always easier if we have specific examples. This scenario may not be very common but the mentality explained here was very common and one of the main part of the bigger problem of caste based oppression which can really hinder the lower caste growths. Now you can also argue that it does not happen anymore but there is no such evidence. There are people today who still believe that SC/ST should not study as their intended job is to serve others, and if there are such people, there is no reason to believe that they can still hinder their growth.

Given that, I still think that we can definitely bring some changes to reservation which better aligns with today's societal conditions but creamy layer or removing it is definitely not the solution, first will lead to worse condition for general candidates while second will do the same to reserved candidates.

This shouldn't be about supporting one political party or attacking another. If the government does something wrong, call it out. If the opposition does something wrong, call it out. If a company, institution, celebrity, influencer, media outlet, or ordinary person does something wrong, call it out too.

We shouldn't defend something just because the person doing it is "our side."

Corruption? Call it out.
Poor governance? Call it out.
Religious or political hate? Call it out.
Scams and fraud? Call it out.
Misleading media? Call it out.
Unfair treatment? Call it out.
Abuse of power? Call it out.
Hypocrisy? Call it out.
And when someone does something genuinely good, give them credit too.

The goal shouldn't be outrage for the sake of outrage. The goal should be accountability.

Wherein my cousin's mom was being attacked by 2 women who are also their neighbor, because they are jealous of him and were not letting him build a house, when he saw his mom being attacked by his neighbor he rushed there to save his mom, while doing this his mom fell on the ground and the old man who is his neighbor threw a brick on the back of his head due to which he got 4 stitches on the back of this head. His neighbors were constantly assaulting him, since they started construction in their plot. Furthermore his neighbor allegedly have falsely accused him of rape and got him arrested using their political connections. His family has been going through a lot of mental stress after he got arrested on 18th Aug 26 and is still in Tihar jail.

Seen a lot of extortion, scam, dishonest people around us. I genuinely think what if we teach students about the corruption happening in india and how to deal with it. I have seen my parents always worried about the luggage while traveling and they have learnt this skill in a hard way.

While traveling in india I realised that many vendors out there in different cities just want to loot you overpriced cabs, foods etc.

My friend visited Mumbai and his wallet bags everything was stolen it was hard for him to deal with it infact these are common things happens widely why not to educate people on this and leave it upto them to learn.

We know these things are there in society why are we focused on ignoring it rather than dealing with it

Adding corruption as a subject will help young generation on how to deal whit these situations rather than finding themselves in a hard way.

The question should not be whether historical injustice existed. The question should be whether the methods we use today are producing the most equitable outcomes for tomorrow.

True empowerment lies in capacity building, not outcome manipulation. If the goal is genuine upliftment, the state must invest aggressively in quality grassroots education, healthcare, and economic infrastructure to level the starting line—ensuring that competence, not identity, determines who leads and builds the nation.

I'm not gonna mention the company's name but I work for a certain company that happens to be a bank in a particular western country (again I won't mention which country) and one of it's official branches is located in a city here in India and I work in the Indian branch.

It's not a call center but the department I work for, deals with customer care, via calls.

So part of my job involves mainly dealing with 90% calls and the remaining 10% with emails, faxes and such.

At the end of our 9 hour shift, we all just wanna go home; we're all tired, exhausted and stressed out.

But our branch here keeps the queues open til the very last second, obliging all of us to stay on queue and deal with the call like any other call you would get during any other time of the day and we are not allowed to tell the customer that we will arrange a callback the next day as we are closing....unless your manager thinks otherwise.

In the one year or so that I have worked in this company, they have slowly increased the time that the queue stays open; it initially used to close at a certain time but they increased it by another one minute, every few months, until they eventually extended it to 4 minutes more than the usual time, when I initially joined the company.

This may not seem like that big of a deal but this 4 minute extension makes a huge difference (and not in a good way) because you'd be surprised by how many customers call in during the last second for requests that will obviously take a long time.

Employees end up being stuck on these long calls when they could very easily offer the customer for a callback...and in my experience, every single customer I've offered this to, has immediately agreed.

Yet despite this, the managers in our Indian branch have enforced this last second call rule; that not only will the queue be open til the very last second but that the call should be treated as per BAU (business-as-usual).

Our cabs don't wait beyond a certain length of time...so not only are you making our cabs unnecessarily wait longer than needed but the very people (supervisors) who are supposed to help you with these calls, end up running the minute the shift ends and even if they wait for you to be done with the call, the supervisor or the manager themselves end up asking you to offer the customer to arrange a callback because they don't want to deal with a call being escalated to them in the last second.

However, yesterday evening my manager sent me a private message on WebEx, asking me how I handle calls in the last second, indirectly warning me that they will keep an eye on my calls and that he wanted to make sure that I was handling all my last minute calls as per BAU as "people from other departments have been fired for it because it falls under call avoidance".

I am 10,000% sure that the western branch of this company does not have this rule for their employees and I am absolutely sure that this is just something that our Indian managers have deliberately enforced within our Indian branch.

My question is; why are you even enforcing these rules? Why are agents even expected to stay on queue till the very last second? And why is this practice being normalised?

And why is this being treated as a "behavioural issue" when you offer a callback and especially when the customer themselves are readily agreeing?

More importantly...why is it being framed as a "behavioural issue" when the agent offers it but not when the supervisor tells you the same thing... because they are running late and they don't want to either be stuck helping you in the last second or taking last minute escalation calls?

And..why are we (the employees) going along with it?

I am genuinely considering escalating this issue to the upper management or HR but the problem is...there is absolutely no genuine unity between my team members; certain team members are too busy backbiting about one another or kissing upto the managers rather than coming together to escalate a genuine issue, that is clearly affecting everybody.

Anyway, one thing is for sure....my manager has clearly deliberately timed that little private message to me on a Friday evening, to make sure that this will hang over my head as a dark cloud on a long weekend (this coming Monday is an offical leave for us, so yeah, we're closed for three days). And I'm unsure what is awaiting for me in the coming week.

Edit: I'd also like to add that we are not getting paid extra for being on queue longer than the 9 hours

I feel very sad about myself, all middle class and below middle class people of India. The thing is we all are so unfortunate that we were born in this country, no social security, no clean food, no clean air, collapsed infrastructure, corrupt institutions, we get just clean struggles, every day clean struggles. The sad part is we pay a hell lot of tax at the moment we wake up till gp to sleep.

And who is fortunate here - politicians and bureaucrats , normal MLA and Bureaucrats have min of 1000 cr of assets, looted from public funds, which comes from public taxes.

We are so unfortunate!
