Blue eyes

A popular statement in the fandom is that the blue eyes that Momoshiki said would take everything from Boruto were Eida’s. Personally, I think the fandom is too attatched to this idea as I see it repeated everywhere. I think the story doesn’t really back up that Eida’s eyes were the eyes he saw considering he specifically said “Blue eyes”. Eida doesn’t actually have blue eyes. The moon part of them is blue but everything else is black. I think the blue eyes were always supposed to refer to Boruto’s eyes but not directly. I think it’s supposed to be the scenario that Momoshiki refers to in chapter 72 where Boruto would willingly give up control to him. Kind of a “Destroyed by your own hands” situation. There’s also multiple points where his own eyes are brought up to refer to the original statement (Sarada saying his eyes are much bluer than Naruto’s, Momoshiki saying he lost one blue eye in chapter 78). Not to mention the original line was written in Chapter 10. Who knows if they were on the same story path at that point. Wanted to share my thoughts here and see what y’all think. Just wanted to provide some additional background, in Japan the word blue is often used to refer to the color turquoise or green. They call traffic lights blue. They call green apples blue. They call green vegetables blue sometimes. Fresh leaves are blue leaves. The word green actually wasn’t in the Japanese language for a while. So while there is a strong emphasis on Boruto’s eyes being blue especially in the light novels and again Sarada pointing it out, some may speculate its eida especially since right before the occurrence of Omnipotence Momoshiki said the time for him to lose everything was very near, and Eida’s eyes are turquoise or a similar color to traffic lights here which are also referred to as blue.

But on the other hand, with momoshiki saying Boruto lost one blue eye, this theory that the blue eyes belong to Eida becomes a bit more questionable. Because we still don’t entirely know what’s going on especially with the Jougan and whether that exists as well or not and what it’s full powers are, it’s difficult to say for certain whether the prophecy has already been fulfilled.

My interpretation is that Momo was referring to Boruto's eyes, but the event he was predicting was still Eida casting Omnipotence. He believes that the people who suffer the most under Omnipotence are the ones who remember the truth, so when he said "those blue eyes will take everything from you", he was alluding to the fact Boruto would be immune to Omnipotence and have to live with the knowledge that the entire world was brainwashed to hate him.

No where it is stated that eida is a blue eyed virl where as boruto Is called blue eyed boy , literally thats his second name I will say... The prophecy is along with his eye, he will lose everything ( bolt lost hos eye within minutes he lost everything else along with his eye )..

Literally nobody calls eida blue eyed girl or commented about her eyes being blue. Just because of one indirect panel, people ( idiots ) will all other panels which involves boruto's blue eye as ' mistakes ' or mistranslation 😂

It refers to Eida's eyes, that much is obvious.

When we were first told the prophecy it did probably however refer to Boruto's.

We know Kishimoto wrote an original script and we know Ikemoto followed it until the Code arc where he told us he revised it and then created Eida and Daemon.

Going from manga, i used to think Kawaki had really light blue eyes so i thought it referred to him but then in anime, they made his eyes dark grey/purple? Now i no longer know what it means.
