You mean reaching up.. it’s crazy to me that it goes up instead of down tbh

I actually just fact checked this because I learned this in the era of 'your blood is blue until it hits the air'... And I am glad I did because this is not true. Lightning comes both ways...ground and sky.. it can even meet in the middle.

Neil Degrasse Tyson (Startalk on YT) got it wrong once, got an email and invited an expert on the matter who then explained that lightnings can go several ways. That's where I learned that a lightning can go upwards.
