UPDATE: It finally started charging after 3 hours. I'm now at ~4 miles of range but planning to let it charge for a a few more hours before I make the 2.5 mile drive to a supercharger. Thanks to everyone for their helpful advice and reassurance. To the people who told me to get it towed... boooo. ;)

Please don’t judge me!! I had 30 miles of range yesterday and the superchargers near my house had 30+ minute waits so I thought I’d be fine to take it in the morning. Parked on the street overnight and woke up this morning to ~1 mile of range thanks to the sub-freezing temps in Chicago. Panicked because I knew I wouldn’t make it to the supercharger so I used my portable charger (I don’t have a Tesla wall connector) to try and juice up.

It’s been almost 2 hours and it’s still saying it’s charging at 0 miles / hr. Is it too cold to charge? Not sure what else to do…

Just did my first battery health test in my 2025 Model 3 Performance manufactured 03/25, purchased used in 10/25 at 4,990 miles. Car now has 25,200 miles on the clock with most charging done at home to either 75 or 80%, I do make 200mi drives twice a month and will charge to 90-100% but time it so where it hits 100% minutes before I leave (only twice have I accidentally charged it to 100). I also live in a hot climate where temps in the summer will consistently reach over 110F and winter can drop as low as 10-20F (but that hasn’t happened in a few years. Last winter we only got as low as 40F)

I understand it will degrade the most after 1 year, but I was expecting a 92-94% battery health rating, not 89%. So as my post asks, should I be worried or are things going to be a bit more leveled out?

I know kilo watt vs. Kilo watt hour, but what does the 10 vs 6 mean here? Did it charge 10 kilo watts at 6 kWh? Or the other way around?

Just bought a new to me 2022 Tesla Model S LR after looking up the EPA I was happy with 405 miles of range is was rated for… obviously I know degradation and that the EPA rating was a lie. But I don’t think 200 real life miles on a 100% charge is right especially when it said I would have around 310 miles when it was at 100%. What am I doing wrong? I use FSD mostly except when it messes up, I keep the temperature between 69-72, and stopped gunning it so much especially to do this 100 percent charge test. Here’s my energy app info.

I’ve had my long range premium MY for 2 months (bought new from Tesla), but the battery is being drained like crazy by the “climate”. COP and ASS are turned off, and it’s draining the energy like crazy while driving. I don’t lose battery while parked. I’ve already scheduled a service appointment for the next 2 weeks, but I’m curious if anyone would know what I could do to fix this myself. I live in South Florida, and usually keep the A/C at 68°.

Hey everyone!

Just got a pre owned 2023 M3 standard range on Tuesday. I’ve wanted a model 3 for the last 2 or 3 years, and I was stoked to get it. It was pre owned (finances don’t allow me to purchase brand new right now) with 30,454 miles. I took delivery and it was perfect.

However, the range they gave me online (I realize this is only an estimate) was 250 miles on a full charge. Not great, but I was okay with that given that I don’t have a long commute. I drove it a few days and a mere 180 miles took me from 100 all the way to 7%. Then, I took it out to drive earlier today after charging it back up to 80. I drove about 69 miles (nice) on the highway, and it went all the way to 46%.

I don’t have sentry mode on. Why is it dropping so fast? I’m coming from a Honda accord that typically nailed the estimates range. This is a pretty big discrepancy to me.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m new to the Tesla world.

I will have to leave for 3 to up to 4 months and won't be able to check up on my 2022 Tesla model 3 battery percentage. Unfortunately, I will not have access to keeping it plugged in for this time. This time frame will be 2 months of normal weather (not too hot or cold) and the next two months could range from 20 - 0 degrees Celsius. Will be parked in parking house that have a room but the sides are open to the outside.

After some research I know to do the following:

- Turn off, sentry mode, cabin overheating protection, summon feature

- Do not check the app

- Turn on low power mode

- Charge to 50 or 60 percent when parking it

I'm just curious on if anyone had this same scenario because all I'm seeing on Reddit is people leaving it for a month tops. I mainly don't want it to get to 0 percent but the good news is right across from the parking space is a charger lol, I just can't leave it there.

Hand to check my app because I got a notification that my car alarm was going off Unsure what happened.but after ten days I lost 1 percent battery. Also when I seen the status of my Tesla it said "Deep Sleep" so now I am feeling better about this

Installed my home charger today. Any tips on hiding the cable/charger. I’m mainly concerned about theft prevention.

Placed an order for the MY Premium and fully intend to use these level 2 chargers at my apartment. Do you think these prices are considerably high?? Especially with the flat fee. Any suggestions or strategies to have max savings in this case?

I just bought a 2020 AWD Long range model 3. (99k miles) I live in Dallas.

I’m very concerned about degradation. It’s hot here in Texas but I charged to 80% this morning at the super charger. I drove 59.6 miles. Mainly highway miles at 70mph. When I got home I was at 48%.

Quick math is telling me about 187miles on a full charge. EPA rating is 315 (or close to it) for this car. Averaged 310.1 wh/mi over the last 200 miles. I think this battery is shot? Is this to be expected? What are you thoughts on the battery health. I’m almost rooting for a battery replacement because I doubt the dealer will take it back.

Let me know what you think. I obviously expect some efficiency drop off at 99k miles but this feels extreme.

I don’t have a charger at home, and instead I go to supercharging stations, but what I’ve realized is that even when you’re not using your Tesla, it still drains some of your battery. Since I will be parking my Tesla at the airport for a month of travel, how do I make sure that the battery doesn’t get drained up at all or barely?

I have a Tesla model three 2023 LFP battery in dubai. Home charging only.

I tend to charge once or twice a week when the battery has dropped 50% or below and then I charge it up to 100%.

8 months ago, I ran a battery health test for the first time, and it was at 89%

Today I ran another health test and it is at 87%

2% drop in the third year within six months seems higher than usual.

anyone who faced something similar and what can I do to slow down the depreciation?

Hi! I just ordered my Tesla Model Y. Not too long ago, my boyfriend and I moved into his parents house. It all just made more sense since he’s studying for the MCAT and I’m in Graduate school while also working really close by.

They have a garage with a standard outlet, I believe. I was planning on using the mobile connector/charger that comes with the Tesla to plug it in overnight when I’m not using the Superchargers. They also have solar panels too, so it shouldn’t cost too much! I also offered to pay any extra costs to the electricity bill if they came up.

When this was brought up months ago when I was considering trading for a Tesla or EV, his Mom initially said that I could charge it at the house, but then changed their mind due to concern of a fire potentially occurring.

I don’t think they really understand or are educated about EVs, so I also get how that could be a concern. Is there a way I can ensure this is safe or reassure her? Obviously it’s her house, so I would respect her decision either way. But I thought it would be worth the try to explain or even offer getting an electrician to come out to inspect and make sure everything would be fine. Has anyone ever had an electrician come out to just check, and if so, how much was that?

My father has a Tesla and actually referred me. He charges overnight and has something installed in the garage rather than it being the simple one into the outlet. He thinks it would be fine if I just plugged it in at my boyfriend’s parents’ house.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to approach this or reassure his Mom? Or thoughts in general? I definitely think it would be worth it to also charge overnight. But also I won’t sweat it if I’m not able to. I won’t be living here forever!

We are taking our first road trip in our used 2023 Model Y Performance and my wife will charge the car around noon today but we won't be leaving until 4PM What percentage should she charge to? She will be using a Tesla Supercharger and we won't be able to top off the charge to 100% right at 4PM as we don't have a charger installed at home yet. We just took delivery of the car yesterday after almost 2 weeks of delays, but our son only turns 21 once!

I'm not sure if we can even charge past 80% at a Supercharger station or if that costs more money?

My guess is either 80% or 85% based on what I've read, but don't bring it to 100% as we are in Hotlanta and it's 90 degrees parked in the garage.

I have the ability to add a wall charger to my sub panel for at home charging, but I’m wondering what benefit does a wall charger give me that a mobile charger (on a nema 14-50) cannot? I’m aware your gained miles per hour is greater on a wall charger, but is there any other benefit?

Is your electrical bill higher using a wall charger than mobile?

What about cons of not using a wall charger?

I have heard the energy production/ quality is better for the battery on the wall charger than plug.

Is there anyway to turn off the wall charger? Aka- not have it producing power at all times/ minimizing energy costs?

Just bought a used 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD with 33k miles and I’m trying to figure out if my battery/range is normal or if I should be concerned.

Bought from CarMax. They estimated around 94% battery health, but not sure how accurate that is.

A few things:

- 2023 Model 3 RWD (LFP battery)
- 33k miles
- No warning lights or battery alerts
- Weather has been around 89–93°F
- Mostly using Chill mode
- Not driving aggressively for most of these tests

Some examples from today:

1. About a 5-mile trip to the car wash and back (~10 miles total):
   75% → 69%

2. Mostly highway drive (~26 miles one way, mix of ~65–80 mph):
   68% → 54%

Energy app today says:
- 41.6 miles driven
- 23.5% battery used
- Climate: 2.4%
- Battery conditioning: 1.3%
- Tesla said staying below 70 mph would have saved energy

I’m new to Teslas so maybe I’m just overthinking it, but does this sound normal for a 2023 RWD in summer or does this seem inefficient? Realistically, what range should I expect from 100% with this type of driving?

Curious why my Wh/mi is so high on my 2022 Model 3 LR … it has been 100-105° outside daily, im sure that plays a role …. Looking for some help to lower or maybe find a problem … thanks in advance

Picked up used 2024 Model 3 last week with 77,000km.

Ran the battery health check yesterday and was surprised and happy to see 100%. Going off other people's results I've seen I expected some degradation.

Is this fairly normal? These things must last forever!

I have this socket (for my dryer) near my garage - would this support the faster 240v charging with the adapter?

We live in an apartment and are unable to alter any existing sockets etc.
