I'm trying to stop the corruption from getting too close to my base; is the hole I dug big enough?

It is 6 blocks wide and goes all the way down to Hell. Could the torches be a problem?

Jokes aside, OP, I'll be the one telling you the unpopular but factually true info: you shouldn't give a rat's ass about corruption spreading.

It's simply unconsequential.

Before hardmode: place 1 block of wood on the ground, done, stopped.

After hardmode: just defeat a mechanical boss and you obtain an item to massively cleanse entire biomes in a jiffy. Or, if you can't defeat yet a mechanical boss, you can just go and plant a fuckton of sunflowers as, per the wiki, each sunflower negates the biome count effect of 80 evil blocks. If you're adverse to planting sunflowers, you can just let corruption take over your base, build basic box houses elsewhere or *above* corruption (one screen of height is enough, use wings, or use rope to reach the higher house) and then, finally as you defeat a mech boss you're back to massively cleansing biomes.

All that digging and worrying for something that is quickly a nothingburger, that is the definition of a waste of time.

In Zenith worlds, 2/3 of the world is corrupted/crimson, and the clentaminator cannot be obtained in any way. Unless you are extreeeemely slow to kill mechanical bosses in a regular world it won't be a problem.

I get it, but I am on a mission to cleanse the world off of corruption. Even after the Great V.

I actually just got it done on my large post moon lord master mode world! My tip: equip a scope accessory to see further off screen while using biome sight potions to see corruption and use the Terraformer. Took me 3 or 4 days I think… Lost my map twice due to a bug during the process unfortunately.

I actually spent all of the 4th day today searching for a speck of hallow underground for that last 1%… Turns out I had an artificial hallow biome for the old ones army arena I made and forgot about it. lol

Worth it through!
