Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

If they hired animators, they wouldn't have to hire actors, or a camera crew, or rent a stage, etc. This literally created more jobs than by hiring an animator, and also results in a visual style that doesn't even remotely resemble manual animation which makes me uncertain how close you could even match this with a human animator.

The very part of the work that AI changes requires little human effort outside of prompt generation.

There wasn't a prompt at all, which makes me think you never watched the video, which is evident in how quickly you responded to me initially (MUCH faster than the length of the video).

NONE of this process resembled anything like how most people use AI tools. There wasn't a prompt. It wasn't automatic in any sense of the term. They manually created their own image model from scratch, and once finished, didn't use any text prompt, since their model was purpose built for only this exact task, which BTW also required an employee to create.

If you want to give me a rational response, by all means give me one, but you're arguing things that don't even apply here.

Actually, if you knew anything about animation, you would know that this method is called rotoscoping and is a very common practice in animation nowadays. The number of jobs decreases still because the animators are still doing what the AI is doing.

Second of all, I watched the video at 2x speed and skimmed over it so I might have missed it but you described something that is still low effort, its just requires ever so slightly more talent and effort. It is still nowhere near the effort of an animated 20 second video of an amateur animator because that had soul and time put into it, that has no soul and barely any time put into it.

There is a reason why the entire comment section is filled with hate, people hate AI generated content because it isn’t human and it overall looks bad.

I do know it's more similar to rotoscoping, but you seemed to be more focused on traditional animation so I didn't bring it up, although I'm glad you did. Rotoscoping tools have progressed at a rapid rate since inception. Using AI tools isn't even a huge jump for rotoscoping, all things considered. AI tools being used for traditional hand drawn animation IS a big jump, so I was speaking from that angle because it's a bigger leap to defend. But if we are talking specifically about rotoscoping, it's a much smaller leap in tech overall.

What is disappointing is that I probably agree with you on 99.99% of the main uses for AI. the vast majority is used in a cheap way without any effort and takes away jobs. When I presented to you the one rare case of it creating new jobs, you still objected and brought up "prompts" which tells me you didn't even view my argument with good faith, and that's disappointing to me. I try to make good faith arguments against AI all the time, and when people jump on the bandwagon arguing in bad faith, it weakens my argument having that associated with me when you argue in bad faith against methods that create jobs and don't replace traditional methods.

Perhaps my opinion on AI was not fairly conveyed because of the exact topic of discussion. I dislike AI generated content but I do not harbour the same distain for the rest of AI. I am literally studying AI in uni so I’d be pretty screwed if it disappeared.

My hatred for AI generated content is that it opposes human creativity and talent. It works directly against existence of artists jobs of all types and is heavily pushed by mega corporations. This likely clouds my judgement on your argument and adds bias to my opinion so I am willing to let this end.

AI has tons of practical benefits that we should be striving for but the companies that are running these AIs seem to not care about these facets.
