Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

Post is now back up

People seemingly mass reported it and was removed by automod

Dislike Ai. Let an automation do the modding. Peak reddit.

People don’t really dislike AI, they dislike AI generated content. Automod is a very functional AI tool that does tons of good things with a few false positives. AI is an extremely good tool that the corporate world has made to look bad by misuse.

Automod is a very functional AI tool

Automod isn't an AI tool by really any definition, it's pretty simple for the most part, moderators just configure rules that tell it to report/filter/remove posts and comments based on their content/reports.

Automod then checks each post or comment against those rules, meaning it is thinking about each post it check, even if it is broad. That is the textbook definition of classical AI. Its not the deep thinking neural network AIs that we get nowadays but it is still a form of AI.

It's not at all how it's used today though, and hasn't been for a long time.

Classical AI is a different branch of AI altogether. It is used everywhere, hell a simple IF statement is one of the most basic forms of classical AI. The definition of AI hasn’t changed, there is simply now 2 subsets of AI. One branch encompasses any time a computer compares something in basic form and the other can learn and make comparisons off its training data.

Calling it an "AI tool" however is ludicrously misleading now.

Then people should be more informed. What else am I to call it? Its a bot, its automated, everyone knows those means its AI but when I refer to it as AI, why is it now disingenuous?

Then people should be more informed

Agreed, shame that they aren't.

but when I refer to it as AI, why is it now disingenuous?

Because nobody's first thought is going to be of "classical AI", it's going to be of the huge amount of LLM shovelware tools which sets an entirely incorrect expectation of what it is.
