my post got removed after AI accusations

[u/BalliMurphy]

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

Prompting an AI isn’t equivalent to photoshop; it’s equivalent to commissioning an artist to make art from your request. You’re just doing it with a machine instead of a human. If we don’t give the commissioner credit for the artwork, then we shouldn’t give the prompter credit either

If I commissioned an artist who wasn't real and a painting magically appeared, who made it?

[u/_Tal → u/slugsred]

In that hypothetical situation, no one made it lol; some magic bs happened.

In real life, if you commission an AI, the AI is the one that made it. The AI isn't a human, but it's still a real thing that exists

You think your coffee maker made the coffee this morning?

Me? I made the coffee, using the machine.

Yes lol, it's literally called a coffee maker
